It’s been a long, long time since I loved anything from BB (and I used to be all BB all the time), but this lipstick broke the run of disappointments I’ve had with her products. Cranberry is a lovely, muted red, the intensity of which is variable depending on how many swipes you apply. In most swatches it looks like a warm shade, but I find it quite neutral, perhaps tipping very slightly to warm. The finish is not matte, but not quite satin–it’s more of a blotted look, but not at all dry looking. It’s surprisingly flattering, feels light but great on the lips, has great staying power considering the texture, and leaves a pretty stain as it wears off. My lips felt very comfortable the entire time I wore it, and equally good after removing it. I think this shade could work on most anyone for any occasion, given the ease of adjusting the intensity of color and the fairly neutral shade. The only drawbacks are 1. the same old BB lipstick case (although this one has a band of color around the middle that closely matches that of the lipstick, and it clicks shut securely), and 2. that BB crayon smell. (I thought they’d have broken down and added a drop of vanilla to the formula to make it more palatable by now, but I guess it’s one of BB’s many idiosyncrasies.) At any rate, the scent is light and doesn’t last long once applied. I love this lipstick as much as I love the Crushed Lip Color (a lot), and have already purchased Telluride. BB hit this one out of the park. Color me impressed!
