This is a pinky / coral colour with a tiny tint of red. Personally I don’t like these colours I only wear if I have pink coloured hair ( just feel like it looks better). With it being cremeshine it is shiny but feels hydrating on the lips

I finally went to a MAC counter and was color coded (C3 and NC20). My skin is on the fair side with golden undertones. I have green/blue eyes that sometimes lean grey. The MAC lady picked out See Sheer as a lipstick color, which made my entire complexion pop — it brightened my face in an enormous way. Suddenly I wanted more shades like See Sheer. So I went back to the MAC counter yesterday and picked up On Hold, which is one tone darker. It’s winter now, and I felt See Sheer was just too much of a spring and summer shade. And I love this shade — wow! It is just as beautiful as See Sheer in its brightening effect. It’s bolder and a bit more grown up. Like many I am not in love with the MAC lipstick formula, as it’s a bit drying, but at least now i have these two colors to try to swatch with formulas I do favor. Really a classic, legacy, top-shelf color!

I’m so surprised that this isn’t one of the MAC shades that many people talk about all the time. It is so beautiful and I haven’t seen another lipstick shade like it. It’s a marvelous combination of pink-coral-red and looks great for spring and summer. It has a slight shimmer, but is definitely not frosty. Being one with cooler undertones, I haven’t been able to find a nice “pretty, warm weather” shade that hasn’t been too orange, too pink or too bright and this is simply perfect. It isn’t super long wearing, but reapplying after 3-4 hours has never been a big deal to me. You can do that with this shade without a mirror.

I swatched this shade on my hand first and it was so lovely that I bought it without trying it on my lips – On Hold is difficult to describe. It’s a cremesheen that looks like a medium pinkish red in the tube but that leans more towards coral on my pigmented lips (I’m about an NC 40/42 with medium olive skin). The finish is very pretty, as it’s a subtle shimmer. While it won’t have the staying power of some of MAC’s other formulas, this is comfortable to wear and as already stated the color is a pretty shade suitable for work or the weekend.

First of all, guys, please don’t review something with 1 star when you acknowledged that it is a great product, great colour, but the shade isn’t suiting YOU particularly. 3 stars, 2, i can understand, but ONE?! :-O

This is a beautiful bright pinky-red, it reminds me of some flowers. Vibrant but soft at the same time, it is a perfectly balanced tone. It is similar to MAC Hibiscus and Hot Tahiti, but suits me more than those two. Pinky-reds can appear garish or harsh, but this colour is so beautiful, it doesn’t take centre stage, nor does it dull down your face. It isn’t a ‘statement’ it is just beautiful and lush.
It looks nice on me without any other makeup, which says a lot!
I took off a star because i don’t like MAC lipstick formulas, not even cremesheens. They are not that comfortable and they don’t feel as luxurious as some other brands. Also I don’t like how they look texture-wise, compared to some other brands. I mean, it’s still great, just not AS perfect as I could want. Being very picky, those are the only ‘cons’ I can think of.

I was in the MAC store the other day and I tried this on. First of all, the formula is amazing. Cremesheen formulas are very smooth and very comfortable to wear and this lipstick felt absolutely amazing and glided on easily. The colour – oh, the colour – it was absolutely beautiful, I literally couldn’t take my eyes off it! It was this amazing bright red, with warm undertones, and what I could describe as the perfect red for warm skin tones.
However, and this is the reason why I didn’t purchase it, it completely washed me out 🙁 I’m n18-nc20, blond with green eyes and low overall contrast, and this colour just made all my other features disappear 🙁 It just made me into a white blank poster with a red bright stain on it. If you have a higher contrast (darker hair, darker brows) and warm understones, you should definitely check this out, it could look gorgeous on you. But if you’re a low contrast like me, this could just end up being too much.

I absolutly LOVE this lipstick. Its my lips but better color lipstick. Its looks kinda orange on the tube to me but its looks AMAZING on my lips. Its like a berry red pink corol combine. Its hard to explian the color of this lipstick. Its pop out yet natural color. Sooo beautiful. Im surprise its not a well known color.

This lipstick is a very good quality lipstick, but it is very pricey. I quite like the finish, a satiny shimmer. It is slightly drying, but putting lip balm beneath it make it a bit slippery. I use this lipstick on special occasions.

At last, the ‘MLBB’ lipstick that gives me enough colour so I don’t look washed out but still looks vibrant yet natural on my lips. (I should add that my lips are naturally very pigmented)
The other reviewers have described it as a watermelon red and I would use the same description. It reminds me of Revlon’s Wild Watermelon lip butter but the Revlon colour is deeper and brighter.
Staying power is okay and it’s usually gone after a couple of cups of tea but it does leave a slight stain that looks natural.
If I don’t feel inclined to reapply the lipstick, I’ll apply balm or a neutral lip gloss and it still looks nice.
I haven’t been a fan of MAC’s Cremesheen lipsticks but this one has definitely changed my mind. I hope they don’t discontinue it.

I love this lipstick!! It is such a beautiful colour, it’s not just another classic red, it’s like a raspberry red, very unique and such a nice wearable colour that would suit all skin tones, the formula is so wonderful one of my favourite lipstick formulas ever, it is so creamy and pigmented as well as being very long wearing, I would defiantly buy this again if I was to run out
