I love this lipstick. It’s one of those perfect lipsticks you buy and it’s so perfect you’re already dreading the day when the company will inevitably discontinue it for no good reason and you’ll be back to square one looking for the perfect, versatile red lipstick. Audrey has a creamy consistency and doesn’t dry out your lips and is surprisingly long lasting. It probably helps that I start with an invisible lip liner but even when I don’t use that, it’s pretty long lasting for a ‘regular’ lipstick, and I figured out a while ago that I would rather reapply more often than use long-lasting lip colours that dry out my lips.
As for the colour, I think because it’s a somewhat muted red, it sort of takes on the colour of the wearer. I have two friends who also use this lipstick, and we all have different colourings. One has cool undertones like me but the other definitely has more olive skin and it looks amazing – and totally different – on her as well. I would say it is pretty well balanced red, strong on the pink but not too cool, and definitely not a warm red. But it will work on warm undertones as well. I can wear it during the day to go to work, or at night.
If anyone from Laura Mercier reads this: please don’t discontinue Audrey! Ever!

I bought this lipstick without trying a swatch, and (luckily) I love it. I’m very pale with yellow undertones and red hair, and it looks more pink than red on me – so I was surprised to see it described plainly a ‘RED’ on the LM website. Saying that, it’s a very flattering version of a red lipstick – not especially warm or cool, and just the right amount of pink for it to look sophisticated and slightly retro/vintage. It has a strong rose tone to it. I sometimes find red lipstick very high maintenance and hard to pull off in a flattering way, it definitely looks much more feminine and elegant than more of my statement-making red lipsticks.
The only downside is that unless I wear a full face of make up, it does bring out any red in my face. As long as I neutralise my colouring with a good cc cream or foundation, and play up my eyes a little, and avoid any pink/red based blush, it looks great – although I cannot imagine this would be an issue for less pale folk.
For daytime i tend to blot some on and smudge for lightweight coverage, in the evening I tend to be a bit more heavy handed. I’m now on the lookout for a matching lipliner..

Lovely soft red shade. Face brightening without being too in your face. Love the creme smooth formula. I app,y and smooth with my finger to make it a little softer looking. Good shade for older women who still want to wear something red. Kind of shade I imagine an elegant French woman wearing, sophisticated and understated.

Lovely wearable soft red with a hint of shine. Not overly red or too dark just right, I dont even like reds but this is nice. Has a hint of light berry also. Another favorite I like is dusk, more muted.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! The new formula has no scent, moisturizing, fairly long-wearing and comes in a much nicer square tube. This shade is a medium rosy shade, comparable to BB Rose but with less brown and more reddish tones. So classic and feminine. Will definitely repurchase when (if!) I run out
