This product was launched as part of the new makeup range (the VisionAiry and Power Matte lipsticks). I like the concept of a sheer tinted lip balm, as I’m not a big lipstick wearer (they tend to dry my lips). I discovered that ColorGel lip balm is mis-named, as it isn’t actually a lip balm but a sheer lipstick. The finish is glossy and dries down to a satin. Very pretty. I got colour “Redwood” 106 which is one of the darker shades and I love the color, a soft muted red. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work as a balm. It’s not exactly drying, but neither is it at all moisturising. The product wears off quickly and my lips start feeling dry again. If I apply some real lip balm on top, the nice feeling stays longer. Of course the colour has next to no staying power. The packaging is very lovely and expensive-looking, and so it should be because these products are expensive. I tried to find this product online and couldn’t, so maybe they discontinued it already? If they could get the consistency right, i.e. make it truly moisturising, it would be a star product for those of us who don’t like lipstick so much. As it is, meh. Not worth it in my opinion. If you come across this and fancy a pretty sheer lipstick, and don’t suffer from very dry lips, it might be worth a try. 3 lippies.
