I really don’t know why these were discontinued. These were the best semi-sheer lipsticks I’ve ever found – intensely moisturising, good wear time, great selection of colours, and a cheap price. In fact, I’d say these were one of the best lipsticks, I’ve tried, full stop – and I’m a lipstick junkie who has tried many formulas at all price points. They were so moisturising that I used them as lip balms. Pink Truffle, Juicy Papaya and Sweet Tart were my favourites.
The Almay (owned by Revlon) Butter Kiss lipsticks are meant to be a dupe – but they are not. They’re not as moisturising, the texture is thinner, and they don’t last as long on the lips. In fact, I find them somewhat drying. The Revlon HD Gel lipsticks are the closest dupes that Revlon currently do. They are decent, but they are not of the same high standard as the Lip Butters – they are not as moisturising or thick, and the range of colours isn’t as good (although ‘HD Coral’ is similar to Juicy Papaya).
Revlon apparently moved a couple of the Lip Butter shades to the Super Lustrous formula (including Pink Truffle), but I haven’t tried these yet as they’re not sold in my country, and I need to track them down. When I do, I’ll update this review.
Revlon, please bring the Lip Butters back!

Another favorite of mine that Revlon discontinued. I’ve been shamelessly buying them at discount stores whenever I find them, but the well seems to have run dry. They are the perfect blend of balm, color and gloss. They were moisturizing and I love the colors. Berry Smoothie, Juicy Papaya, Pink Truffle, and Lollipop are some of my favorite shades of lipstick EVER.

I love these lipsticks, my favourites are Sugar Plum and Berry Smoothie.

Pink truffle is my fav shade. It gives colour like a lipstick but not heavy and it’s moisturizing which I like. No lip liner or gloss needed

I just got to know these and already they’re discontinued? Quite a bummer, but not really. I got Berry Smoothie and Cherry Tart both on clearance. Frankly if these were full price, I wouldn’t have bought them. They only have 2.5 gram of product in each, which is a bit more than half of a regular lipstick (4.5 gram, some stinkier ones are 3.5). And even though I do enjoy them, to be brutally honest, besides the beautiful packaging with the corresponding caps and checkered pattern aside, they are basically glorified tinted lip balms with a lot more shine and some with shimmers. They’re very buttery (hence the name), very comfortable and moisturising on the lips, and I’m speaking as a person who cannot live a second without lip balm. The colour is really sheer, some deeper shades certainly pack on more pigment but the lighter shades hardly even show up. Berry Smoothie is one those lighter one, it’s basically the colour of my lips but pinkier and slightly mauvy. It is my lips but slightly better but still not enough to register as I’m wearing lipstick kind of thing. It’s not possible build up the colour because this formula slips around, and that’s what I dislike the most about it. I have more pigmented tinted lip balms from the Baby Lips line from Maybelline, they apply not as buttery but they stay in place and don’t go on unexpected business trips around my lips and over my lip line. This is one those lipsticks that does gather in the inner rim of your lips to nasty line, not a cute look at all. I also have to wipe my lips completely dry and clean if I even dare hope this thing sticks, because they wear off very very easily. Even with a darker, pigmented colour like Cherry Tart, I can see the bright punchy red shade fade off right in front of my eyes within 30 minutes of wear, and I did nothing but smacking my lips together from time to time. Eating and drinking anything and you can say goodbye to your lip colour. Since they wear off easily, you’d have to reapply very often, and the tube will run out, fast, since there’s not much product in there at all. The shine of the lip is really brilliant, I gotta give them that, it makes your lips look really full, plump and healthy. They both have shimmer in them, Cherry Tart’s not as obviously sparkly, but Berry Smoothies has very noticeable shimmer in it, and when the colour fades, the shimmer stays, and this is a very common problem I have with any Revlon lipstick that has shimmer (like the Pearl finish from the Super Lustrous line, they’re just atrocious) in them. Fortunately the shimmer doesn’t settle into the lip lines, but it’s still really strange to have specks of glitter on your lips.
And that’s why even though I will enjoy them while they last, I won’t repurchase. The colour range is really amazing, but when it wears off so fast and for that price? I’m not willing to shell out that much for 30 minutes of buttery lips. If you want a tinted lip balm, get a Baby Lips I mention earlier. If you can’t part with the smoothing and soft feeling they leave on your lips, get a Butter Gloss or for more opaque colours, an Intense Butter gloss from NYX. I swear even those glosses stay on my lips longer than this. I won’t miss these terribly when they’re gone.

I have three of these: red velvet, berry smoothie and candy apple. It’s light, just the right amount of shine and moisturizing. My only problem that it tends to be too soft that it would kinda “mush” (so you have to keep it in the ref) and the cap breaks easily.

Why is there not a “maybe” purchase again button? These are great lipstick/balms. I have cotton candy and peach parfait. I researched what colors I thought I would like quite a bit before ordering and I like both colors. BUT, my lips are more pigmented than the swatches I looked at so the peach is real dark and the cotton candy barely shows up. ???? So I will have to do some work to get these to really look good and I was really hoping just to be able to slap these on….I will either have to conceal my lips to get good color or put down a base color. I’m annoyed by that but hey…can’t complain that my face isn’t all one color. I have berry pink lips.

I own juicy papaya, candy apple, and berry smoothie. Make sure your lips are not dry before putting these on because they will settle funny.

I own 5 shades of these lip butters. I have Berry Smoothie, Candy Apple, Cupcake, Peach Parfait and Juicy Papaya. I’ve been using these for a few years now and I still love them. I feel like these look good on and feel good on. They are also pretty affordable and I like how each shade is named after desserts/food. I also like the packaging on these. I feel like there is definitely a shade for everyone because they offer so many. Overall, these are really good lip butters and I would recommend them to anyone.

I own four of these in the shades Berry Smoothie, Peach Parfait, Pink Truffle and Cherry Tart. I used to love these and kind of forgot about them for a little while but I was searching high and low for a semi-sheer yet moisturizing lipstick and I remembered I already had some! These do not dry out my lips and are not too opaque or too sheer, some do have mild glitter but only in the Peach Parfait do I find it noticeable on the lips. They do not have a very long wear time, especially if you eat or drink, but I find that moisturizing or glossy lip products usually don’t so I didn’t really expect them to. My only real gripe with these is the packaging. In all four of the ones I own whenever I twist the lipstick down after use it scrapes the lipstick and leaves a glob of gooey lipstick allover the rim. Also these all eventually have stopped twisting down properly after not that many uses and then I have to push it down manually. These would be near perfect if the packaging was improved! Not bad bang for your buck though and my favourite shade is Cherry Tart.
