I love this colour! I was afraid it would be too bright for me as I have thin, downturned lips, that means that my lips naturally curl downwards at the corners (yeah a really nasty lip shape to be born with). But this colour looked really good. It wasn’t too over the top or in your face on my thin, downturned lips, it gave just a subtle sheen of light pink colour. I do have quite pigmented lips so the natural colour usually shows through unless a lipstick is really opaque and matte, which this isn’t. But I don’t mind that you can see the natural lip colour through this, I think that just adds a bit of depth and dimension to the colour. I didn’t find that it streaked or gathered in lines or in the corners at all, the colour was smooth and even. I do always use lip balm whenever I wear lipstick so I could recommend that. Lip balm prevents lipstick from drying me out and makes the colour even and smooth and shiny. It lasted a few hours and slowly faded away after a few hours even though I didn’t eat or drink anything, but lipstick never lasts on me. It’s like it just evaporates off my lips. I love the formula and wish I had discovered Maybelline sooner, I’ve always been a MAC girl but I find Maybelline to be just as good and maybe even better quality than MAC, and so much cheaper even in my country where makeup is always expensive in general. From most reviews that I’ve been seeing it seems most people are warm-toned but I just can’t pull off anything warm toned or with even a hint of yellow or orange in the undertones, for me makeup MUST be blue based or I look like I have jaundice. So these kinds of blue-toned cool colours are not only gorgeous but also perfect for me.

The first thing I noticed when I bought Maybelline Pink Pop is how similar it is to Maybelline’s Power Peony (from their Rebel Bloom collection. They look nearly identical in the tube! Same goes for when swatched upon my hand.
Pink Pop is a hint more cool toned and lighter while Power Peony is a touch more fuschia and a bit deeper. But honestly they are very similar! I swear they are almost exactly the same lipsticks – it took me a while to spot the differences when swatches because they are honestly dupes for each other! You don’t definitely don’t need both of these seeing how similar they are – just wanted to put that out there before my review.
Pink Pop is a barbie pink shade. It’s bright but I found that the cool undertones and luminous finish make it look a lot more wearable than most barbie pinks. As a pale cool toned makeup lover I seldom find barbie pink lipsticks that flatter my complexion, so I’m happy to have found this one. I love wearing this kind of head turning bright lipsticks. 5 out of 5 lippies.

I thought Pink Pop looked like a really fun color, so I decided to give it a chance despite the fact that it’s pretty bold and light lip colors are kind of a gamble. The color is a cool light pink, almost lilac-looking (though not as purple as Lilac Flush from the Rebel Bloom line). Unfortunately, it’s not really flattering on me at all. Not only does the lip color clash with my overall coloring (I’m warm-toned), it also applies patchily and unevenly. It’s a bit better if I blot and apply a second coat, but it’s still patchy and settles into the lines of my lips. I own several other colors in the Color Sensational line and don’t have this issue with any of the others, so I think it’s probably the zinc or whatever is used to create the light colored base for this shade.
The one thing that saved this lipstick is that I tried applying a bit of this as a cream blush (using a Real Techniques stippling brush) and it actually looks okay that way, if applied with a light hand. So I’ll be holding onto this for now, but still wouldn’t really recommend it, especially to anyone who’s warm-toned. I also bought the shade “Power Peony” and that was much more flattering on me for a fun bright pink lip.

This color oxidizes like there’s no tomorrow. It looks like a lovely, soft, bright pink in the tube and when you first put it on it’s a little sheer but still really nice. But give it 5 minutes. It darkened on my lips to this deep fuchsia color. It’s pretty but not at all what I bought. This did not work for me. To maintain the right color I had to reapply it every hour on the hour.

As most of you can tell, I have been on a lipstick buying streak lately. I think it is because I discovered these new shades from Maybelline and Rimmel that are very pretty and they have a nice scent to them. I imagine these shades have been around for quite a while now and it took me this long to discover them. I always think I have to shop for lipstick at the Mac, Lancome, or Dior counter so I just never check out the old brands any more. I am going to start checking them out more often now. I think Rimmel smells better than Maybelline but that is just my opinion. Both of these lipsticks are of good quality. I think Pink Pop reminds me of Mac’s Saint Germain only it is not as chalky of a pink. I like Pink Pop best. I have heard some reviewers say it is a Barbie Pink but not so much to me. It is just not quite pink enough on myself for me to call it a Barbie color. I find this lipstick last as long as any other does on me and it does leave a light tint after the lipstick is gone. I am not much on the cases as the color is orange and I am not a fan of orange, but it is what is inside that counts most. I think I have collected 3 of Maybelline’s shades now and they are all the colors that I wanted. Love the creamy texture and I find they all go on even and very smoothly. For a drug store brand this is good quality lipstick. The price could be better for a store brand but every thing is going up so I guess I cannot complain too much about that.

I was so excited for this color and wanted to love it so much but in the end, it’s just okay. The problem I have with this isn’t the color, its actually a very cool color. The formula is what I don’t like.
It’s streaky and patchy. It doesn’t last very long and catches on every single bump. Even with smooth as baby lips I found it looked like it was settling into every little line and crease. It just didn’t impress me.
The other Vivids I love but this color is a miss for me. It’s a very Barbie color and I wish they would fix the formula 🙁

I have hit the winter blaa after the holidays so I went to CVC to do a little haul and brighten up with some lipsticks and other goodies. I picked up this little gem as I’ve been getting more comfortable with using bright colors. You always hear women over 50 should stay neutral, and I disagree we can rock the brighter colors if we choose right and apply the right way.
This is a Barbie Pink very blue toned and VERY bright. The formula is a bit dry for me so I put a little balm underneath. This then went on very smooth and full coverage. Not matte but definitely more opaque. This is a very cool tone so I’m not sure all warmer tones can pull this off. I am actually very neutral so I can pull off (within reason) both sides. I really love the way this looks. Especially if I want to pop a dark colors (like navy and black) during the winter.
If you have flaky or chapped lips this is going to show every bit of it. It’s one of those colors you are going to have to exfloiate and balm before you wear it or it’s not going to look good.
For a change I’ll comment on Packging. All the tubes are neon orange which is a pain because I can’t grab this by tube color. I do lke the fact ths swivals ALL the way down so you aren’t scraping product from the top of the cover. This is a thumbs up for me!

So I bought Maybelline Vivid lipstick In Pink Pop #860 because I love the color pink . I love how this color looks , I love how it looks on my lips , If I ran out of it I would buy it again but I hardly use this color I had it for about a year and a half now and I can say I still love the color .

Gorgeous color, for the girls that want a bit of pop! I found it faded after a few sips of my drink and a couple of hours of wear but it doesn’t go all dry and patchy like some lippies do. All the colors in this range are gorgeous and if you love pink it’s deff for you!

First of all, the colors in the vivid line are not for the faint of heart. They are for those girls that love a bright and bold lip! I have two colors and Pink Pop is my latest purchase.
Color/Longevity/Texture
This is a gorgeous bright pink with a cool undertone. It is rich saturated opaque color that stains the lips when the actual moist part of the lipstick has worn off. If that makes any sense. One coat of this and you are good to go, it applies perfectly evenly which I love. The scent is tolerable but when you lick your lips, if you lick your lips, it tastes very much like chemicals. Refrain from licking your lips and everything will be OK. I think because this lipstick is so super pigmented, it tastes like paint. Or what I think paint would taste like. The price is great for a lipstick that you will probably only need to apply once for the day. Even after eating and drinking, the color is still there although it isn’t quite as fresh. It’s fairly comfortable on the lips, it’s not greasy, it has some substance to it. If you apply too much, it can gather in the corners of your mouth. Because it has substance to it, I don’t find it to migrate outside of the lip line without a lip liner or with. But that’s just me.
Negatives:
The only other negative thing I can say is that sometimes if the pink is TOO cool-toned, it can draw out the yellow in your teeth. I have very white teeth and when I wear this color, my teeth do not like as white. Not as bad as they look when I wear something like MAC Snob but along those same lines. I pay add a tinge of warmth to the color with another lipstick to play this down because I absolutely LOVE Pink Pop.
Color Comparisons/Overall Thoughts:
I’m very impressed with this range of lipsticks and Maybelline prices are much better than that of L’Oreal or Revlon. On a MAC scale, this color is not pepto-bismal pink like St. Germaine or too purple-toned like Snob. I would say if you like MAC Pink Friday, you will like Maybelline Vivid Pink Pop! Pair it with NYX Dolly Pink lip liner if you’re looking for an inexpensive liner match!
