Maybelline Playful Peony is a cool toned light pink with purple undertones.
Playful Peony is interesting because despite the name it’s NOT part of the popular Rebel Bloom collection, (although both Playful Peony and the Rebel Blooms were both released in 2015). I’m confused as to why Playful Peony wasn’t included – it shares a similar name to the others (Power Peony, and so on) and is a lavender toned pink which resembles many of the other pinks in the collection that also have strong cool undertones on the purple and blue spectrum.
In fact I think if they were to include Playful Peony it would outshine all the other pink ones from Rebel Bloom (I’ve tried all of them from the collection). For example Power Peony and Petal Pink are kinda intense in brightness, while Playful Peony is a lavendery pink that’s vivid yet not in your face. It starts of slightly sheer but builds beautifully. This is the prettiest unique pink color. I cannot seeing myself leaving this out of my collection.
