Yay, I don’t know if any of you remember back in the 90’s revlon came out with lips I forget the name, it was when the colorstays first came out, there was a color called “mica” which I loved and bought all of the time. This is the exact dupe. It really isn’t mauve but more of a “slight frost/metallicy” medium lavendery-greyish (it sort of resembles the color font right here on MUA where it has the lipstick icons and where is says “your review, just not as dark) that tones down the red in your lips. I don’t think this color would suit everyone, but I really love the way it looks on me, you never know till you try it, I say give it a shot and keep your receipt you can always return it (I bought mine at Harmon’s they are great with returns!)
EDIT: This color looks a bit “alien-ish” in daylight/outside due to the grey-ish hint and frost. Although I see that MAC has a “STAR TREK” theme now (Aug-Sept 2016) so this might work for that kind of look 🙂

One of my favorite Fall lipsticks. Super hydrating and easy to wear in a deeper mauvey color with a hint of silvery lilac tone. Reminds me of L’Oreals Mica but lighter.

I just dyed my light brown hair red, which I love. However, I’ve really had to rethink a lot of my makeup. For example, normally I would wear pink makeup tones with purple hued clothing, but it’s really hard to find pinks that look good with my hair. So, I decided to try mauve. I picked up this Maybelline lipstick on a whim at the drugstore, and I’m pretty happy with it. The texture is great. It’s very creamy. I apply it really lightly. Otherwise, it looks to dark and purplish. Not HG, but I can see myself repurchasing. Well priced.

I recently picked up Maybelline COLORsational lipstick On The Mauve 445. It is a medium toned, warm, grey-violet-mauve with slight shimmer, but not too frosty. I have a number of mauve lipsticks and this is one of the best!
I have fair skin and moderately pigmented lips which tend to be on the cooler side of warm pink. On The Mauve is a bit warmer in tone than my lips, so it’s great for when i’m wearing warm colored clothing and want slightly more than my natural color.
It goes on smooth and creamy. It isn’t sheer, but it’s not too dark, and it is a bit buildable if you want more intense color. It has some shimmer, but it isn’t excessive. In fact, i didn’t even notice it when i first bought and wore it. It doesn’t wear for hours, but, then, it isn’t a “long wear” lipstick, so it is as i expected. It has a slight scent, quite unlike traditional old-fashioned lipstick fragrance: it smells coconutty to me. I’m not crazy about the scent, but it goes away quickly.
This is one of my basic lipsticks, and i usually have it in my purse. Definitely a favorite of mine.

I LOVE THIS LIPSTICK, this is one of my fave everyday go to lipsticks. It is very light yet a very nice in office or night out color. When I seen these a few years back I wondered if I was really going to like them. I DO I love this line it is on of my fave DS lines ever! I dont see how this is not a great color for every one. The packaging is chic and the colors are endless!

I’m not sure what it is with me and this colour/product.
Pros. The lipstick is creamy and glides onto your lips nicely.
Cons…..oh the con’s where do I start. The colour. In the tube the colour is a really beautiful dark browny purple. On the back of my hand the same lovely colour. On my lips a really shiny pale purple.
So disappointed.

am on my second lipstick with this. this lavender/mauve, not brown, color makes blue eyes pop and teeth whiter. i never smell these things until reading here. yes, there is a fragrance but i assume it goes away when on the lips or would have noticed. it has pretty good lasting power and not too much frost. have been looking at high end dupes and would be willing to pay more for a non-berry mauve but cannot find through the maze of brown and yellow undertoned products.

I really don’t understand how people are saying this lipstick is creamy and odorless. Unless the one I bought happens to be a complete dud, this lipstick is hard to apply and smells like the old, cheap lipstick I used to wear when playing dress up as a little girl. I warmed it up on my hand and while it was “easier” to apply it still is difficult. The reason I give it three stars is because when I finally get the product to transfer enough to show up on my lips- I like the color okay! Oh well…. I doubt I will be buying another maybelline lipstick again.

I like Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick. However “On the Mauve” is a very strange color. It seems to have a hint of black that made me lips look like I am lacking oxygen. If I am going to the Halloween with a witch look I will definitely using it.
