Amazing: after searching for quite some time a decent MLBB for me that didn’t look too fake or forced, in two days I found not one but two MLLBs perfect for me! I feel so lucky.
So, first one was Wnw’s Wine Room, the second one is this Maybelline’s Hollywood Red. Despite the name, it’s not the classic, vintage-y red you might expect, it’s a deep pink as elegant as the previously mentioned colour.
The finish is quite plain, more on the satin side, but not shimmery nor matte. I found it lasts pretty much on me, it’s bright and fully pigmented for more than 4 hours, I still have to eat something while wearing it but I’ve got the feeling it won’t betray me with embarassing darker lines and clean centre of the mouth, as it gently faded and left a pigmented stain.
The packaging is classic Maybelline, red transparent plastic body and silver base.
The best thing? I paid 2,45 euros for it! Amazon.it was having a massive sale of Christmas editions of Maybelline’s lipsticks – the only difference is that they were sold inside transparent Christmas tree balls (In the same sale I got the L’oreal Nude Palette in its Christmas edition for just 5 euros instead of 15 euros. So happy!)
I strongly suggest it even at its full price (around 7 euros). It’s totally worth the money and I would have paid the full price now that I know its quality.
Works as MLBB on my NW15 skin and pigmented mouth.

am i the only one who thinks this is an exact dupe of Mac Brick o la ? i’m sure this is very very close (nearly the same) to brickola.don’t be fooled by the name , it’s not a red colour as other reviewers mentions here.it’s brown-rosey undertoned reddish pink with a tiny touch of coral/peach.it is a bold version of mlbb.it brightens up the face . it’s probably more suitable for warm undertoned skins but will suits all skin tones imo.however the only downside is ;the texture is a bit heavy and slippery , easly smears and transfers.overall if you love Mac Brick o la ,but on tight budget go and buy it!

I am in love with this color ! It is a little darker on my lips than I expected but I blot my lipsticks with a tissue after I apply them and I find that it looks very flattering . This lipstick has now become my go- to HG lipstick it’s a perfect natural flushed lip look when blotted but is a perfect redish pink color for the day when you don’t want to look over whelming .

Lovely colour but not at all red. I bought this by accident, as I was looking for a red lipstick and thought, going by the name ‘Hollywood Red’ that this would be classic red shade. I was wrong but I don’t regret the purchase! And despite the misleading name I can’t be annoyed with Maybelline because the sticker on the base of the lipstick tube is an accurate reflection of the colour of the lipstick. Quite why they gave it the name Hollywood Red I don’t understand as, on me, it isn’t the least bit red in colour: it’s a lovely dusky dark pink shade. Very flattering, slightly darker than my natural lip colour. Like all the Colour Sensational lipsticks, it’s quite ‘slippy’ in texture so feels very comfortable on the lips, but I suggest you get the matching lip liner if you want it to stay put for several hours and you want a defined lip edge. This is now my ‘go to’ shade for daytime, particularly at the weekends, when I want to wear lipstick but not in a bright colour.

I never really wore lipsticks much until I found this one! Bought this without much thought to choose a 3rd maybelline item for the ‘get 3 for the price of two’ offer. It turned out to be the perfect shade for my lips. Previously only red suited me, and I couldn’t wear red for casual outings or shopping. This is the perfect shade for both casual and formal meetings.
like the previous review says, go for it if u have warm undertones. It gives the face a nice pink hue/glow too! Also, my lips are a bit dark and tanned, it perfectly covers the uneven color. Isn’t very long lasting though, if u go for a lunch or dinner, it quickly lightens but even the lightened shade isn’t too bad.
The name however is a bit misleading, it,s not really red, more of a reddish pink or dark pink color. But overall it,s an amazing lipstick with an amazing shade!

If you have a warm-toned, olive complexion listen up!
This is our perfect shade of red. If you’ve been hunting for the perfect red for what feels like forever then this is what you’ve been looking for. It’s almost a true red but leans towards a peachy undertone which is why I’m assuming it’s so wearable. I have a hunch it would suit almost every skin tone but unfortunately cannot vouch for that. I even wear it during the day because it’s not dramatic.
Gorgeous colour, perfect finish, moisturising but matte, wearable day & night, relatively long-lasting and comes off evenly. Put it this way – I would not change a thing, and I’m glad the hunt is over!

I bought this because of the shade, a fairly unique rosy red with no shimmer, and in that respect it has not disappointed me. Unfortunately the texture is pretty waxy and doesn’t feel or look very natural on the lips. Blotting it helps a little, but it’s still a bit smudgier and heavier than would be comfortable for me. I find the staying power average – it takes a while to really disappear, but it gets uneven pretty easily. Because of the texture I recommend using a lipliner or a lip brush to create a clean edge. I probably won’t repurchase unless they change the formula.
