I bought this after looking online for a dupe of macs please me (I tried that on and found the colour separated on me leaving a pale ring that looked weird!). I don’t think it is a true dupe for please me as climax has less of a white base and is a touch deeper and cooler. It’s a mid tone cool rose pink colour, not really dusty but not too vibrant either. On me its a very wearable every day mlbb type shade, it’s not super neutral so won’t go with all outfits and eye MU. I find it to wear pretty well and it’s one of my longer lasting lipsticks and it seems to wear off evenly too although it’s not dramatically darker than my natural lip colour so problems with uneven wear wouldn’t be super noticeable as with lighter and darker shades (I am very pale cool toned olive skinned with very pink lips).
The texture is weird in my opinion, very unlike all my other lippies which are largely satin or matte finishes. Climax is waxy and thick feeling and doesn’t apply that smoothly without a bit of lip balm first although on the plus side it never feels dry like some mattes can.
I might buy it again as I do really like it but there are lots of lovely pink lippies out there that I’d probably buy something else next!

I’m going to be the lone dissenter here and say that while I like this colour, it’s not a must have as there are other dupes to be found in other lines.
Climax reminds me of MAC’s Twig but it’s more on the pink side without any brown.
Like the other Illamasqua lipsticks, this one is rather matte in texture and the lips need to be prepped properly to avoid emphasizing any dry flakes.
I don’t apply it full on (I can’t wear lipstick in full on colour anymore) but rather, I dab the colour onto my lips and then rub with my ruby finger for a more subtle look.
I like to finish with gloss.
Climax reminds me of GA’s 510 but I prefer the texture and formula of GA lipsticks more.
They’re creamy and I can apply more colour to my lips with those lipsticks.
If you prefer a matte finish with lipsticks, Illamasqua has some great choices.
I wouldn’t repurchase Climax.

I was expecting a dusty rose in the same family as the eponymous Besame lipstick, which on me is warmer and more berry toned and creamier, but this is very different.
Climax is a matte, brighter shade of rose, lovely on medium skintone and I would expect, on fairer and darker ones.I agree that it brightens the face immediately – I particularly like it a with a very small amount of gloss on top, clear or shimmery beige. I like the square, sleek tube.
Glad I got this as it’s an instant pick-me up shade!

I don’t think I have ever bought a lipstick twice, but this is perfect for me.
My lips are very pigmented, so to get a rich color, I usually have to pile on product or neutralize with pencil/concealer and can’t get that sheer wash of color I’m looking for sometimes-especially in a pale pink or neutral. The pigment in this is so intense, a single stroke leaves a wash of neutral/cool medium pink that brightens my whole face. It manages to pale out the dark bluish undertones of my natural lipcolor and give me a pretty rose color that looks natural, but a bit bright. Almost a MLLB,but more punch. It stays on forever, and though it’s a sheer and a matte, it’s not at all drying and feels quite nice. This is a very different lipstick experience for me, and after having worn so many for so many…decades, this is wonderful. I am now a fan of Illamasqua and will purchase other products!

Climax is a perfect everyday lipstick for those with medium skin tone. The magic with this lipstick is that it instantly brightens up your whole face more than any serum or mask ever can. It’s highly underrated. It has a matte finish but feels creamy against your lip. Now that’s perfection.
