I love this brand in general. It’s one of the few brands that charges a pretty dollar but for consistently excellent quality. Their lipsticks are no exception.
Creamy -but not too glossy, amazing staying power and they go on so smoothly. Amazing, slick packaging and no annoying fragrance, this lipstick is everything and it costs just the same if not a little less than MAC -definitely cheaper than Chanel, YSL, Dior -this is my go to.
Such a shame this brand is not widely available in the US, and to my knowledge in the UK it can usually only be found in M&S. Diego Dalla Palma not only has quality products that blow others out of the water but are completely cruelty free and challenge the ‘normal’ idea of beauty.

The lipstick I put as an image for the review is the one I really use, Il Rossetto 41 Fuchsia Perl. In reality it is brighter than on the photo. It is a long-wear lipstick and If you are looking for a lipstick that will not fail you ALL DAY LONG even after meal and drinks this is EXACTLY what you need. It is not very soft and creamy, but it covers lips perfectly. When it is there you may do whatever you want it is just stays. I have tried many “long-wear” lipsticks and none of them was even close to this buddy.
This particular shade has a light pearl shimmer very nice looking and a very intense color. Il Rossetto has a subtle powdery smell. And 25 EUR for such a faithful friend.
Packaging is very good. Cover closes and opens tight and you may feel that you need to put an effort and when it opens you hear a “pop”-sound as you would open a vacuum tight package.
Definitely buy other shades as there are many available here.

Italian makeup artist Diego dalla Palma has a small assortment of his line available in the US through Beauty Bar. I had an e-coupon, and I almost always try a line through a lipstick first, so I gave this a try. I had never heard of the line before Beauty Bar. I chose #02 Satin Dark Pink, which is not very dark by MUA standards, more of a bright azalea pink without shimmer. The color goes on incredibly smoothly and has a pleasant creme brulee fragrance (but no taste). The formula is not at all drying, and tends to leave a bit of a stain on me, so it’s not critical for me to keep reapplying. The case reminds me of the old Mary Quant line from the 70’s: white plastic with black type and trim. For a plastic tube, the lipstick doesn’t feel cheap at all in the hand.
At USD$32, it’s almost injustifiably expensive, but I’m charmed by the distinct look and feel of the line, as well as the knowledge that it’s not the same old-same old, at least in the US. Like a moth to a flame, I’m inexplicably drawn to these lipstix!
