PROS:
– big color payoff for the small money
– moisturizing and never looks like your lips are dried out
CONS:
– incredibly cheap packaging. Remember those 99 cent Wet’n’Wild lipsticks that you first got as a teenager? Same packaging. It looks, feels (in your hand) and sounds (the way the cap clicks into the base) CHEAP. If this fell out of my purse in public, the embarrassment would be huge.
Overall, with the color BLS15, I like this lipstick for it’s moisture-ful bright coral red. Looks good in photos. But I carry this with a secret shame, because of the crap packaging.
It’s not long-wearing; it’s value lies in being moisturizing and I prefer it this way because my lips don’t look like like dried-out raisins.

I have like every shade of this!! I love this lipstick because it’s not drying unlike those much more expensive counterparts and also, I despise matte lipsticks so this is perfect for me. I wish they’ll release more shades for me to try on.

I have this in BLS11 which is LIcorice. This does leave a stain after putting it on. Unfortunately, it smudges and transfers fairly easily when eating and drinking so you have to reapply often. It has a nice vanilla smell. It’s moisturizing enough. I probably wont buy again though.

I have the colors Fizzies (now called Staycation), Pops (Root Beer Float), and Lollies (Easy Livin’). They don’t last long but they are very moisturizing which my dry lips love. The darker colors fade with a bit of a stain. It can be worn sheer or the color can be built up. These are pretty nice but not the lip product I reach for everyday.

i don’t think this formula is anything special tbh. it starts wearing off after about an hour on me, but lip liner does improve the longevity somewhat. i think the packaging is adorable + quite secure if you twist the product down far enough to click the bullet into the base before closing it. it’s cheap, but you can definitely work with it. i actually get more wear out of my NYX butter lipstick than almost any other lip product i own, purely because i love the shade so much. mine is in the color Root Beer Float. it’s seriously just so damn pretty.
i like to wear this by applying it all over my lips and then smudging out the edges to soften them a bit. i think it looks much nicer and more natural on me that way. overall i’m very happy with my purchase and plan to buy this color again~

I want to love these. I LOVE THE COLORS. They look really pigmented. And they feel great on the lips. I have gotten so many compliments when I have worn the colors I have. One lady even told me “it looks so smooth on your lips and most lipsticks don’t look like that on anyone.” But. But these have ZERO staying power on me. Even with an ozone lip liner underneath, they simply will not hold on to my lips AT ALL. It’s a real shame because they feel great.

I want to rate this higher, because the colours and texture are so good (I have Fire Brick) – but (a) it disappears from my lips unacceptably quickly, and (b) the lipstick broke in half inside the tube (seemingly on its own, owing to its ‘buttery’ texture). This must be the shortest-lasting lipstick I’ve ever worn. A drink of water and it’s already performing its vanishing act.
Will probably buy other items from NYX, but not from the Butter Lipstick line.

This is really fun lipstick that works for all makeup skill levels. I would recommend this for your teen who’s just getting into more intricate looks, as this is a nice healthy lipstick formula that isn’t TOO bold. The one I have is a deep red, but didn’t pop a whole lot, it just complimented my lips really nicely without being too overpowering. It blends really well, and would go great with a lip liner for those who want a stronger look and are more experienced in full makeup looks. The feel and application of this lipstick is just like it sounds! It goes on like butter! Super smooth, soft, and totally void of that sticky drying feeling that your standard lipstick has.
My favorite aspect of this product (and this is from experience), is that I would feel confidant applying it without a mirror, and without applying a primer or lip balm before hand. Very few lipsticks are like that! Most would not go on as easily, and would need more attention and precision, but it blends so well, and has a more natural application in it’s coloration, so you can apply this on the go, and just use it as a moisturizer and coloring tool to go! This is going in my quick makeup kit routine. Moisturizer, spf powder, Nyx butter Lipstick, and BAM! Ready for anything!

This is awesome! I got it in the color Pops (Root Beer Float), and it is the perfect subtle, mauve-y nude for my lighter olive skin. It has a nice creamy formula that won’t dry out your lips. It does have some issues with transfer and isn’t the most long-wearing lipstick, but for day-to-day wear it is great! Would definitely buy again.
