Bonfire is a duo chrome polish. The colour shifts from magenta to gold. Due to its thin formula it’s best worn over black or other dark polish.
I don’t have a problem with the colour, it’s quite pretty. But I was disappointed to find out that it had to be layered over dark polish. Firstly, if you use black polish it can be difficult to make sure that every edge is covered up perfectly, as you don’t want the base colour showing. And secondly, if you have to have the base colour this means more coats (I used basecoat, 2 coats of dark brown creme polish, 2 coats of Bonfire and 1 coat of QDTC) and therefore longer drying time.
I like Nubar brushes and caps, as they are always easy to work with and to hold. And up to now I was impressed with all of their polishes, but I am not sure their duo chrome polishes are as well formulated as they could be. So far I have found duo/multi chromes by Dance Legend and ILNP are the most impressive.

As the previous reviewers have aptly described, the color of Bonfire is a burnt red with a rather fine copper shimmer, a gorgeous evening choice (I’m a dark-haired PPP). A quick swab over Chapstick makes for a pretty, YLBB, subtle daytime red. This was my first Milani purchase, picked up on a whim since I happened to have a $2 off coupon, was in the mood for new lip color for the upcoming spring and summer, and read some of the great feedback the brand has received on MUA. I’m definitely a satisfied customer! 🙂 The only downside to this little gem is that the formula feels kind of dry on its own, which is a big thing for me since I like my lips well-moisturized and comfortable. Still, given the sultry color and for less than the price of a Whopper, I can hardly complain and will be looking forward to trying more Milani lip products.

ITA w/Miki. This has been my ‘go to’ color for the summer. I am a DDD and it shows up a coppery color. Perfect for summer b/c it’s not too bright or dark.

Beautiful warm red with coppery golden shimmer. Very pigmented and lasts a long time on the lips. It makes a HOT shade for summer IMO! I love the grapey scent and affordable price too. MMM/brown/brown/MAC N5.
