This review is for “I Am Motivated.”
At the risk of sounding corny, I am motivated to give this unassuming little beauty of a cranberry garnet lipstick the raves it deserves.
It’s cruelty-free, which is important to me, affordable (< $10 USD), and readily available(if in stock; I’m not the only one who loves this) through sources like Amazon, eBay, Walmart, and CVS. Then there’s the formula: matte, as the name conveys, but smooth and well-pigmented, with none of the dryness or patchiness common to many matte lipsticks. In my experience, Milani really knows how to do lipsticks, and this line is no exception. I Am Motivated is a very deep color, with abundant pigmentation, so it needs to be applied carefully to achieve a neatly defined look. A liner is probably a must with this one, though I’ve had no trouble with feathering. The color is a deep, deep red with the faintest suggestion of brown. I Am Motivated is the quintessential Fall/Winter cranberry/pomegranate/chrysanthemum shade. It dries down to a comfortable satin-matte finish that wears beautifully for hours without feeling dry. I’m not sure how often I’ll wear this color during warm weather. However, it’s a “hidden gem” that I never want to be without.

For the price these are lovely. I have I am Happy which actually looks like a cheery colour that would suit many. I honestly keep it in my purse for days I feel awful, as though the name and colour may affect my mood.
The lasting power isn’t a solid 5 nor is the formula (more 4 or 3.5) but the range of colours is lovely (fun lively shades) and the price is fair.
Can be drying without a gloss or balm under.

I have this in I Am Fabulous (my favorite — a slightly deeper MLBB shade), I Am Happy (a poppy coral color that’s has just enough pink in it to make it wearable for my cool-toned skin), and I Am Fierce (a medium, neutral red).
The formula is great. Glides on and doesn’t dry down DRY. It also wears beautifully. I’m 52 and had no bleeding into fine lines and the color wears off gradually. Transfer is minimal. You need two coats for the more pigmented shades and I found with Happy and Fierce, they benefited a lot from adding a slick of gloss on top to enhance the color. But at this price, I’m not sure you can do any better.

I have ‘I am Happy’ just a beautiful medium coral with enough drops of red that it doesn’t look pastel and dated. It does quickly look patchy and fade in a bit of an uneven way, with or without lip balm as blotted base—
so my solution is to use it as a blotted stain.
Still it was giving the ‘sinking into formerly unseen lines’ effect- I then deciddd to try it layered it as a final touch on top of liquid lipstick (a Sephora brand) and on top of lipstick (from Guerlain an old one no longer sold)- both ways gave considerably better results! The colour is just too beautiful to not use so I have used it for weeks as my almost daily lipstick colour (with one of the aforementioned colours).
I don’t know whether others will encounter these problems or if a simple lipliner base will mitigate the patchiness problem- I just went with using it on top of other colours.

My review is for the shade “I am Strong,” which is a deep burgundy.
I agree with pretty much everything that GlitterandGraveyards said. In fact, I’d have given this lipstick a five if not for a slight tendency toward patchiness. That may be pretty much unavoidable in a color this dark, though, and it isn’t a deal-breaker for me.
I chose this lipstick primarily for its color – I wanted a deep burgundy/wine with red undertones, and this works fine. It’s fairly smooth and comfortable, especially for a matte. It wears well, too, though I find that even a drop of gloss on top will break the color down. This can be remedied, though, and wear extended dramatically, if you layer I am Strong under a similarly-colored stain, like Silk Naturals’ Vamp.
Cruelty-free, reasonably-priced Milani has become pretty much my go-to brand for lip products, and goodies like this one are a strong reason why. I’m looking at other shades in the Bold Color Statement line.

I have this in three colors: I Am Radiant (medium terracotta), I Am Confident (deep burgundy), and I Am Fabulous (medium mauve pink). I really like all three shades, but the formula is not without its minor drawbacks.
Negatives first:
– I Am Confident and I Am Radiant wear quickly and noticeably from the inner portion of my lip. It’s similar to the way certain liquid lipsticks wear, which can look rather unattractive.
– The formula is ever so slightly drying. Not as bad as their older matte formulation, but still not comfortable for long-term wear. I never wear these two days in a row.
Now for the positives:
– Gorgeous, sleek packaging. I’m glad they went with matte black instead of fingerprint-hungry, tacky gold.
– Great pigmentation and easy application. None of these three shades drag on the lips, and the application is opaque in one swipe.
– Super cheap. I paid $6 for these at Target.
– Great color range. There’s even a black shade!
– Not a true, velvety matte. I count this as a positive, as it does help with the dryness factor.
I Am Fabulous is my favorite of the bunch, because it’s a pretty close dupe to KVD Lovecraft!
I’ll definitely purchase others from the range, and repurchase these shades. This may not be the perfect lipstick, but it’s still very good, especially for the price!
