Pros:
Solid packaging
Bronze Berry is a great shade
Goes on creamy
Cons:
Wears off by pilling into little spots of colour, it looks as if I have tried to wipe off one of those stay on lipsticks. I’ve tried with primer or foundation under, and bare lips, but still does the same. Very annoying as great texture and colour. But can’t wear 🙁

Thankfully I work as a cosmetician in a Shoppers Drug Mart so get a nice discount on Elizabeth Arden, otherwise I may not have tried these wonderful lipsticks. I’ve Pale Petal and Ginger Glaze. They apply sooo smoothly and are very hydrating. They appear opaque on the lips as well. They are certainly a luxurious feel and application is even and never chalky. Even though I’ve medium brown toned skin, they seem to both accommodate me as well as my friends much lighter than I am too. I will certainly re-purchase the Pale Petal as that’s probably one of the few pinks that I can actually pull off.

Yuk. I’ve been using Rosy Shimmer 32 for one week now and regret buying it:
a. It’s drier than my previous lipstick and does not glide on as nicely.
b. The container is square, heavy, metallic, and bulky. I much prefer a rounded, lighter shape.
c. The pinky shade seems to have a slight orange undertone on me–with my pale complexion, the orange undertone is not flattering.
Not a good buy for me.

The formula of this lipstick is quite luxurious, and yes moisturizing. Lips are soft even after taking it off! Applies smoothly and evenly, does not accentuate lines or imperfections. My lips appear fuller and younger looking! Rich color that lasts, one swipe and I’m ready to go. Infused with skin care for lips… vitamin enriched. Beautiful highly pigmented shades wear longer than average, and the superior quality really does outshine well known rival brands.
MY COLORS:
Tropicoral (cream) – This is a must have if you like Coral lipsticks. Bright and Bold, it is just the perfect opaque coral pink. Does not lean too much towards orange nor pink.
Desert Rose (pearl) – Gorgeous neutral soft rose with a hint of pearl, would flatter most skin tones/types. Extremely similar to the now discontinued Rose Aurora. Buildable formula can be worn sheerer to full coverage, which is perfect for the office as well as evening.
Rose Berry (shimmer) – Contrary to the stock photo, this one is also a nice neutral which would flatter most. It is a pinkish berry shade with light shimmer, not a dark plum at all. It too can be applied sheer or full on. Nice for work or play 🙂
This is definitely a Luxury Lipstick. Love Love Love it!
To sample colors, you can always visit the EA counter. Another good resource is actually Ebay, as you can find this and more at huge discounts as well as other EA products to try out. Beautiful Color Lipstick is a pricey $25 each, so I bought a set of 3 with bonus clutch bag as shown in the photo (great discount!).

My review is the opposite of the prior lady’s. I have the pale nude-pink, pale petal i think it’s called… thd colour is good, it goes on fine. Not moisturizing though–extremely drying. i’m not against ole Lizzy Arden as I love her eyeshadow singles (periwinkle blue, I speak of you), colour intrigue l/s, mousse eyeshadows (LE) and the ceramide lipsticks. However this beautiful color range is drying. My lips are even drier the next day. Putting on a balm before does not help. I have tried every way I can imagine and it kills my lips each time.

I got 3 sample shades in this new line introduced January of 2014. I have given a test drive of 3 shades, plus a fourth that is a top seller of theirs from a now discontinued line called Breathless.
First this IS moisturizing! Feels like silk on the lips, creamy yet light. As if you were only wearing the lightest slick of balm. It doesn’t collect in creases, nor does it emphasize flakes.
Second, I detect a faint smell, like Playdough, but it lasts less than a minute. Zero taste. None! So a minute after application this is odourless, and tasteless. A bit more sheer & creamy & lighter weight than drugstore. Definitely in the quality of Chanel or Dior and a cut above Estee Lauder.
Third the cost. In Canada these are $30 a tube. I think the case helps make up for the cost. It is a lovely new design. Quite substantial in feel with a square case that won’t roll off your bathroom counter! It is a gold & silver design that riffs on the red door heritage.
Each shade lasted about 4 hours or till a meal. It wears off nicely leaving a good bit of stain (nice & even, no lip ring) behind but for best results I’d reapply every3 hours which I do with all my lipsticks. There is a TINY bit of feathering on my aging lips, also normal, but this is less feathering than I have with Chanel or Estee Lauder or Loreal or the Color Exceptional line by Maybelline. A bit more than a Super Lustrous by Revlon which is a thicker, stiffer formula.
All in all I would say EA nailed it balancing a moisturizing formula with a pretty good ability to stay put. Even on my 57 year old lips with a lot of lines around them. So you may not have ANY problems at all.
OK the shades; The pink and the coral both have a sixties Mad Men vibe. What astronauts wives wore around Cocoa Beach watching their husbands make history. The red and the Breathless shade are classics. I will start with them.
The classics;
Red Door Red. This is EA’s signature red. It is a cool toned bright cherry red. Your lips will enter the room first. Definitely one to try for any cool or neutral skin tones from light to dark. I am a pale warm skinned redhead with freckling, redness etc, and it looks awful on me but it was fun to sample. This is a little black dress shade for sure! I want to try Valentine to see if it is a better red for me. Loved how it left a clean even cherry stain behind as it wore off.
Breathless. One of the best ever MLBB shades, now in the new formula. This is what NARS Dolce Vita wishes it could be. This is a true neutral, and suits just about everyone. It is one of their bestsellers, and definitely one to try. It is a rose shade with a mauve and a peach or caramel undertone. It can go warm or cool depending. You can wear it with either colour range and it will look just right. Teeth look whiter against it, and it plays down any excess redness or blotchiness in the skin. It was a mainstay of their now discontinued Exceptional line, but they brought it and Red Door over into the new line as these are bestsellers and classic shades for Elizabeth Arden.
The “Mad Men” sixties shades;
Neoclassical Coral. Well this is another in your face hot colour. It is a screaming coral with flourescent vibrancy which in my opinion would look best on warm or olive or tan skin tones. I can wear coral but the brightness washes me right out. I will be trying Mango Cream for a more muted coral, that I suspect will work for me and probably other fair warm skin tones. But if you want an attention getting coral that sets you apart, and can be seen from low orbit satellites, this is one to consider.
Pretty Pink. This is a soft cool toned pink. I can almost wear it but its a touch too cool into the Barbie to Pepto Bismol range. It would be very wearable for any cool tones from pale to deep but you really should sample it. I felt this one emphasized lip flakes a bit and it was more opaque and heavy looking. A very 60s pink. Not sheer. But muted enough to make it work for most.
I saw several pinks that might work better for me, Pink Punch & Pink Honey stood out.
These are worth every penny. If I have to go without in other parts of the budget, I am buying more of these!
Luscious, light creamy silky goodness. Terrific colour range. Something for everybody.
