NARS Audacious is one of the best bullet lipstick lines out there! If you are looking for a formula that is pigmented, creamy ,comfortable as well as matte, this is the line for you. Expensive yes, but worth the price.
Anna is a beautiful mauve with a hint of purple. Such a stunning color, but unfortunately it just does not work on my NC13 skin… I have a neutral leaning yellow undertone and for some reason Anna pulls REALLY purple on me, like this not nice kind of purple. Also it looks pretty dark and sort of pulls out all the color off my face. I was able to make it work and by sort of tapping it lightly on my lips for a more diffused look.
I was looking for a beautiful MLBB mauve lipstick, but sadly Anna is not the one for me. 🙁 So disappointed. I won’t be repuchasing it. The formula is amazing however. Urban Decay Backtalk has been my perfect MLBB mauve and is exactly what I wished Anna would have been.

So disappointed in this lipstick! I stalked it for WEEKS. I finally justified buying it — it’s the PERFECT neutral MLBB color. I loved it when I put it on. And I truly missed it ten minutes later when it had vanished off of my lips. I can’t remember the last time I bought a lipstick that disappeared so quickly. What a waste of time and money — and the color is so pretty, it makes it all the more sad.
I don’t know about the other Audacious lipsticks. I won’t be buying any. And I cannot recommend this one. There are plenty of almost-the-same colors out there in lipsticks, both bullet and liquid, that will last for hours. Please don’t spend your money on this one.

CLICK TO OPEN FOR A LIQUID-TO-MATTE DUPE!!!
I really can’t say anything much else that hasn’t already been said–it’s been described to a ‘T’ & perfectly+ throughout in all the other reviews, so at the risk of monotony–I won’t.
Suffice it to say they’ve all been startlingly accurate in terms of both amazing color and texture.
The only point where I differ is that my overall rating comes to 4.5, as I don’t have as much of an issue with the price–I think a gem such as this is worth its weight in gold and am more than willing to pay the price.
MUFE # 203:
A LIQUID-TO-MATTE DUPE!!!
Also, I’ve found an EXACT liquid-to-matte lippie dupe in MUFE Artist Liquid Matte #203. I still recommend getting the NARS as it’s a single quick-and-easy one-swipe application that you can do blindfolded; the MUFE requires more precise application; a mirror; drying time & potentially tweaking time–but of course has the benefit of LASTING POWER.

I love this lipstick, which is reading as a neutral pink even against my yellow-toned fair skin. By odd coincidence, I first put it on with a Bobbi Brown Nude gloss over it only because I had a tiny sample of the gloss in my purse, and it was magic. (By the same coincidence, I have a Lipstick Queen Nude liner also in my bag and with my age, a liner keeps the bleeding in check.) For all you Nordstrom shoppers, right now NARS has a couple of really fun duos in the Man Ray collection and this one of them, a mini Anna paired with a very light rose colored blush (Impassioned) is being sold as the Impassioned Love Triangle set. It’s the perfect way to try out this color and the duo work perfectly in a makeup bag. (The other Love Triangle has the wonderful Dolce Vita blush shade that works for darker complexions along with a more vibrant lippie.)

I love the formula of this. It is moisturizing but with lasting power, kind of like a thinner unscented version of Bite Amuse Bouche. It is a satin, not matte or lustery.
Unfortunately, Anna pulls very purple almost grayish and is dark on me. I have neutral skin that leans slightly warm with freckles, NC15-20. It could look great on a different person. It just looks kind of funky on me, like sucks the life out of my face. I recommend Anita for a warmer, maybe more natural version.

This is my HG natural mauvey rose lipstick, great as an everyday lipstick or paired with a smokey eye for nights out. I even bought a backup because I’m already halfway through a lipstick after two months. LOVE it. The formula is pretty moisturizing too, so good color payoff and formula.

Anna is a medium-dark muted mauvey plum rose. The shade is very similar to bobbi brown rich lip color in 11 rose blossom only this one is slightly lighter and more muted. I love it so much. Im so glad i bought it.

The only thing I hate about this lipstick line is the price; if you add a couple dollars, you can buy an excellent quality eyeshadow pallete or a cart of groceries. Beyond that, this formula is amazing; I won’t be able to describe it with words. The best I can do is: it glides on and is opaque in one swipe. You don’t need to put on another layer; it will look like you have too much lipstick on. When I put on two coats, I needed to blot. Even if you have dry lips this lipstick will moisturizer them. It is not moisturizing like a lip gloss but will not in a way cover up fine lines and give your lips a healthy shine. This line of lipstick also has the most polished and beautiful packaging I have ever seen even among high-end lipsticks; the tube of lipstick itself has a beautiful “NARS” engraving on it. The only annoying part is that it is easy to get fingerprints all over the outside. I was trying to find a cheaper color dupe for Anna but I decided not to since I am ultimately paying mainly for the formula. I hate the price but realized that the Marc Jacobs lipsticks are more expensive if you calculate the cost per ounce. On my Asian skin tone, Anna looks more purple on my lips than pink compared to the swatches I have seen online but is still muted enough for everyday wear. Jane is also another color I recommend. It is true that you can pay a few dollars more and get two Mac lipsticks which are also of great quality but I don’t think any high end brand has a lipstick formula that can outshine that of NARS. You must try it in store and stroke the package too.

This is a great everyday color lipstick for my nc45 / Nars Cadiz complexion. Although it’s described as a smokey rose. It looks more like a color in the mauve family on my skin tone. What I like about this lipstick is that it has a creamy feel on the lips, yet the density of a matte lipstick without the overly dry feeling. I would say that the texture is similar to Mac’s amplify line.
The price is ridiculous, but most likely I would purchase it again.

This is a beautiful shade. When I saw it I had to own it because it’s just too pretty and works so well with my skintone. A little about me I’m very cool toned, NW20, NARS Monte Blanc, green eyes, and very light blonde hair. This shade looks really nice on me. It’s like my lips but more not better but more because it adds to them. It is a rose shade but it is very mauvey its opaque in one coat as well. It makes my lips look fuller and does not bleed nor dry them out. It’s very comfortable to wear it’s soft and moisturizing. The packaging is excellent very pretty. The lippie itself feels heavy and you can tell it’s well made. I love this shade I have a thing for mauvey and roses with more to them. This fits the bill and then some. Recommended!
