I purchased in Garnet. the first time I used it, I was shocked, because the binder is SO hard, like a waxy crayon (and smells like crayons too). It was too hard and waxy to drag across my lips. it also left dark residue under my bottom lip like a crazy lady the first time I tried to wear it this way. However, this is a problem that is easily fixed. Just apply lip balm first, then this product. When I did that the color spread across my lips evenly. The Garnet color is very nice, a reddish/brownish/purply shimmer. I will continue to repurchase because of the nice color, the natural ingredients, the good price, and if I use lip balm it doesn’t stop me from using it. It would be nice if Kiss My Face fixed the too-hard binder issue someday.

I saw this on sale at Publix for 2.09, so I bought the garnet shade. I now wish I had bought the other 2 in garnet for that price. Upon further research, this was an excellent price for an excellent product. The topaz and amethyst look too light for my skin! It tingles and moisturizes wonderfully, and the colors look natural.

I have this in Garnet, and I like the color a lot. It looks crazy dark in the tube, but it applies as a sheer caramel color with pink shimmers. I also like the tube, because it is so slim and perfect to throw in a pocket. However, I find that it dries my lips out terribly, maybe because of the peppermint oil. It also starts to look really matte and emphasizes lip lines and dry patches. I can remedy all of that by applying over a balm, but it defeats the purpose of the portable little tube if I have to bring more stuff with me. I had the same problems with the Burt’s Bees lip shimmers. I am using this up, but I won’t buy another.

A lip product I don’t hate! The Ruby color has subtle shine, more in the pink family than in the peachy-red family, but it’s still quite flattering and doesn’t look overdone. Moisturizing and hydrating, and doesn’t sit in lines. I have a smaller mouth, and gloss just looks awful on me. This just looks nice, and I can’t imagine it looking bad on anyone. (On top of that, the color is named after my birthstone! squee.) The other shades might have more color, but that’s not what I was looking for. Recommended!

The Ruby version of this product is the perfect one for my mid-pinkish lips when I want to enhance them and not overdo it. A step up from clear Chapstick (both in shade and scent — the KMF is gently minty, not medicinal) and a step back, intensity-wise from lipstick or thick gloss (though the same shade is available in gloss, if you’re interested).
Other colors are similarly sheer and gentle.
The tube is a bit small for the price (I paid a little over $4.50), but otherwise, no complaints here!

Love these lip tints – I agree on it being on the dryer side but it’s not drying out my lips, and I do think the consistency help it stays better on. A great substitute for lipstick – gives a lot of colour, tastes & feels much better and is much easier to apply (don’t need a mirror as with lipstick). I like dark colours and Garnet is my favourite – a natural brownish red, but I wouldn’t mind if it was even a bit darker. Tried the Amethyst colour too but it’s much to pale for me – but a good choice for those wanting a shimmery pale lilac-ish 60-ties look.
If I could change something in them I would add less shimmer – but the Garnet is not too bad and looks quite natural.

This is a new lip color product from Kiss My Face, very similar to the Burts Bees lip shimmers and the old Almay sheer tinted lip balms. I have it in Opal Shimmer, a pretty, neutral pink shimmer which looks adorable as a nude lip on it’s own, and is a pretty topper to other lipsticks.
For being a sheer lip tint, it is on the dry side, which is interesting. I do find that the dryness helps give it some staying power. And, while dry textured, it does not dry out my lips. They contain Organic Shea Butter and Organic Sunflower Oil, as well as peppermint oil which gives it a nice strong flavor.
