   Heads up – I found this for $10 at Marshalls very recently.

   I like the Nars Satin pencils a lot (the mattes are too drying & intense for me) but have the same gripe as everyone else (i.e. for that amount of $$ you shouldn’t have to waste so much product sharpening it). The shades are so unique and pretty though and so I’ve caved a couple times. But it was awesome finding this so cheap!

   Lodhi is a really beautiful coral-pink, just a super stunning shade. It’s very creamy and opaque and surprisingly long lasting, as it does stain the lips. Honestly, it looks even better as it wears throughout the day. I agree with a lot of these reviews re: application method. It’s so pigmented that it can be imprecise and patchy if you apply it normally, so I do a very light & precise first layer, making sure to get the outline of my lips as perfect as I can, then work it into my lips with my finger. (A lip brush works too, I’m just too lazy to find one.) A lot of the times I don’t even bother with a second layer—the pigment becomes one with your lips, so the color makes them look lit from within.

   Wear is comfortable, easy. You don’t have to worry about it getting everywhere or turning crusty like with matte long-wear lipsticks yet it does have remarkable lasting power and you can revive it with a little balm or gloss if needed.

   I also love how the Satin pencils are named after amazing locations. I googled the Lodhi gardens in New Delhi and they are gorgeous.

   I just love this lip pencil lipstick. Smooth satin finish. Perfect peachy color. Great wear time, only reapply after meals. Great for spring and summer.

   Lodhi deserves a much better rating!

   It was initially really hard to wear. On me, lodhi looks like super bright. Between a pink and coral. It sinks into the lines on my lips leaving a very uneven wear. I hated it.

   But then I used a lip brush and things turned around. I fell in love with it! Lodhi looks like one of those colours that Korean actresses love wearing. This colour brightens up my face. Formula is exactly the same as other satin lip pencils. Lasts a long time until I eat or drink. Feels very comfortable on.
   Use a lip brush. It really helps. Now I’m gonna try all my other satin lip pencils with a lip brush to see if I achieve a different or better effect.

   Lodhi is one of those shades… you know, the one that everyone gets for their blogs and raves about because it’s just one of those colors. It’s a coral/pink, and while there’s an ubiquity of corals on the market these days, Lodhi stands alone as a unique, *high end* color – the type you see on super hip super models hanging out at the Standard. As far as formula, Nars has done a fantastic job making them opaque and long-lasting – however, this doesn’t mean it doesn’t require work on your part. Application is definitely better (i.e. more even) with a lip brush for instance – I find that applying straight from the crayon leaves streaks – and using a brush also helps to really work the color in, so it stays after blotting. I deducted a point however, because you really do see how much product gets wasted after every sharpening. Fat pencils really make absolutely no sense whatsoever, IMO.

   I need to preface this review by stating that corals are hard for me. I am constantly and perpetually drawn to them even though I get very shy about actually wearing a bright coral in public and always worry I look too orangey or weird. However, like I said, I ALWAYS want coral products and anytime a new coral comes out I try it.

   NARS Lodhi pencil is the only bright coral that I can really pull off. It does not pull too orange at all and even with my yellow undertones brightens up my face. The only other coral I have worn with any regularity or confidence is YSL glossy stain in #7 which is MUCH more tame than Lodhi. It goes really well with Gilda blush.

   I only wear this at night, never to work. Its just not really appropriate for what I do. Its a great color for going out to dinner or drinks or to a party though because it shows up in low light. It also has good staying power. Its not a “long wear” or waterproof by any means but it definitely stays on and leaves a pigmented stain behind once it wears off. I have to use an oil based remover to get the stain to come off. (I also have this in Luxemborg and Yu and with Lux the stain remains ever so slightly even after removing. So these are VERY pigmented)

   I took a lippie off because I simply cannot stand or understand the appeal of the pencil which perpetually has to be sharpened and that you have to buy a separate sharpener for. I tend to lose sharpeners so I have to continue to buy the special NARS sharpener ever year.

   Lodhi on me is so bright, it’s almost orange. My husband hates it, hehe! But I think it’s a fun, playful, bright pop of color. Wearing it makes me happy 🙂 I like the formula – it doesn’t dry out my lips unlike the Velvet Matte Lip Pencil which does. Application is easy, love lip pencils for this reason, unfortunately you do lose some product when sharpening. Would definitely re-purchase, but maybe I’ll get Isola Bella instead. 🙂

   I was so excited to try this new lip pencil from Nars, especially this bright coral one. The color is very pigmented and lives up to its name–satiny. However, it also sunk into the lines of my lips, making my lips look super chapped and uneven. No matter how hard I tried to exfoliate my lips or blend the color in, it just separated into the grooves and balled up into little discs of dried skin and sat on top of my lips. Funnily enough, when I tried to take it off after realizing I looked like an idiot, it refused to budge. So I’ll give it credit in the sense that the lasting power is pretty amazing.
