This is a holy grail lip product for me. I have already repurchased it twice more. I’m surprised it’s not more popular tbh – I use #19 (Peony) for the record.
The first time I got to use this was as a birthday gift – it was part of a set with one of Sephoras eyeshadow pallets. I fell in love with it immediately – glides on smoothly, doesn’t dry out my lips, long lasting, and to top it all off the colour is just outstanding.
I was surprised that other reviewers said the application was patchy – I have not experienced this it all. With one swipe Its even and I’m good to go. Perhaps it’s a good batch/bad batch dilemma?
Anyway, I use this nearly every day – I’m quite a fan of the effortlessly beautiful look – and this achieves that for me. It’s not a nude in the full sense of the word, but sometimes people confuse the colour as my real lips. It’s just a pretty, subtle pink for every day that really compliments my features. And the best part is that I don’t have to keep reapplying every couple of hours! It also doesn’t transfer it all when I’m eating or drinking.
As of regards to the smell: yes, I agree, the smell is very chemical-y. It doesn’t bother me though – smells never did to be honest. I can only use fragrance free foundations though as my skin is sensitive.
Another thing I like is the ease of application: no lip liner needed, the doe foot applicator makes it easy to carve out lines if that’s what you want it to do. It’s what you need in the morning, when you’re In a rush: swipe and go. Adds a tint to your lips – nothing too crazy.
It’s a little bit pricey, especially in my country where products can be more than double what they would be sold in the US, for example. But I don’t think I could live without this.
Lastly, I don’t think it would be suitable if you’re looking for something matte, or you want intense colour. It’s just a lip stain, it’s not going to achieve what a normal lipstick would.

I purchased this in Fig, #14. Beautiful! I wipe any residual foundation from my lips, and apply 2 thin coats. On me, it is a reddish earth color. I wipe any out of border excess with my finger, and wait 3-4 minutes between coats. It lasts for several hours with a slight sheen, but can be topped with a gloss or sheer lipstick. I’m currently in love with Big Spender from Sephora, as well. Not too deep, but definitely a statement! I love it! No bleeding on my 60 year old lips!

I got this in a VIB Rouge gift in no. 19 Peony. I had to laugh that they considered this to be a nude. It is a mid-toned, somewhat bright fuchsia. It is very sticky and unpleasant feeling.

I am sooo disappointed in these. I purchased rosewood and peony, and honestly no matter what I did they would not apply or stain evenly. They looked patchy and messy, with the most staining occurring in the center of my lips, then the outer edges- yet hardly any product would ‘stick’ to my top lip. I always exfoliate I really don’t know why this product did not work for me. Color also changes after an hour or so, it becomes a brighter shade. Especially rosewood, it looked like the perfect mauve color and then I looked again 1/2 hr later and it had turned fuchsia. Needless to say I returned mine.
A super cheap and just as effective dupe for these are the NYC smooch proof lipstains, those actually stain evenly, and the color does not change as drastically.

I got this Sephora’s VIBTHANKS surprise grab bag. I got Peony. They picked that color for the grab bags but other ppl got other stuff so I heard. The highlights of my bag were this lip product & a niiiice delux sized sample of KvD Trooper which is 1 of my all-time fave black liquid eyeliners. I had to spend $35 to get the bag so i got another LE Jaclyn Hill Becca Champagne Pop for $37! I wish I could afford a back up of the back up of the Becca LOL this lip stain is a beautiful reddish without being red. Looks like the same “tone” of my lips but it’s darker no brown no pink it pulls red. it’s actually called “rouge infusion ‘the neutrals'” I totally agree w a post below that I am sick of seeing all of these garish colors loud in ur face even blue! Don’t get me started on purple hair & purple eyebrows. This is a lovely darker than MLBB shade I’m thrilled to own it. It looks exactly like benefit Benetint on my lips & feels dry & very thin. I can see where u wouldn’t want to put this on unless ur lips are in ideal condition. Lips scrub to exfoliate (I use elf)/lip balm (I use LUSH coz I wanted a clear one but u could use a lipgloss too but it may alter the color of this), then apply this stain & try not to rub ur lips together or pucker up coz it will make it wear off faster & unevenly. I can smoke & drink w this on but eating makes it come off. I use Sephora’s lip color remover to take this off completely which I got for $5 on sale not sure reg price but the lip color remover will take off all traces of a lip color coz its remover’s oil based. Other things in the bag were perfume samples, a tiny porefessional tube, mini hand Creme, MUFE mascara & a small tube of Glam Glow Mud cleanser. All of this stuff is practically worth $35 by itself! Way to go Sephora u got this right!! I don’t own any lip products similar. all of my lipstains I ever tried were like sharpie markers (elf were the only ones that didn’t dry out the next day. W those markers u really should store tip down so gravity keeps the ink flowing. I’m glad I can not worry about this sitting on its side in my purse. Neat product but Ive a hardcore love affair w MAC lippies. But I occasionally use other brands. I’d consider buying a nude beigy color but I hate to go by swatches online & going into the brick-and-mortar store is inconvenient for me would be an understatement. I may call VIB-ROUGE concierge service if I want advice on buying a color.

I live in hot and tropical climate but high humidity. This lip stain doesn’t true to its color after an hour you put on your lips. I bought two in Tangerine & Strawberry. It both turn to dark/plummy red. Which is weird. It bleeds to my liplines and drying after an hour or so. With the price, this lip stain doesn’t worth it. Don’t waste your money

I bought this in Peony, which is perfect for my medium brown skin. It’s great for everyday wear because the color is very natural. It goes on a light pink, and dries to a slightly darker pink. It does tingle a little when you put it on. My only problem with it is that it could be more pigmented. I’m not sure how great it would be if you wanted a bright, colorful lip, though I have yet to try the other colors. I just use it to enhance my natural lip color on days when I don’t want to wear too much makeup.

I have this in 90 (Coral) and 20 (Dusty Rose). They do seem to change color a bit once applied; the Coral really doesn’t look Coral at all but is still a nice color. It goes on smoothly and is long-lasting without cracking or drying out. My only problem with it is that it bleeds into the fine lines around my 49-year-old lips. However, using a clear lip liner before applying remedies that. The shine does fade over time, so I apply a long-lasting lip gloss on top. Would definitely purchase again.

I think everyone loves it when a product lasts all day and this definitely does. I have this in “Cherry Nectar”, which is a dark cool red. The finish is shiny, almost like a lacquer when you first put it on but the shine fades throughout the day. The formula is lovely, going on smooth and easy, with the pigment being out of this world. It is so versatile, too, which I always love in a product. I can just dab it on the lip and rub it in for a lovely subtle stain that just looks like I’ve been kissed really hard. Or I can use it full on for an opaque look. I also love the way this wears. It starts off looking perfect but then a few hours in the shine goes away and the color looks a little rough-around-the-edges, which I just think is so hot. The color shouldn’t be edgy, but the eventual finish makes it so. I can’t fault this. It’s lovely. I recommend this fully.

I have this product in both Tangerine Ink and Red Essence. Tangerine Ink is a bold pinkish coral color that really stands out on the lips. Red Essence is like a deep, true red. This product has great staying power and does not bleed. The price is right for this product, although it definitely does not last ten hours. I am really impressed with this product and will continue to repurchase.
