According to the KIKO website this balm has special pigments in it that react on contact with your lips and adapt to their pH, enhancing their natural colour. Apparently this results in a unique, personalised look that changes according to who uses the product, for a colour perfectly matched to the individual’s complexion. So… this had a lot to live up to. And sadly, it didn’t deliver.
I’ve used this on a number of occasions now and have never seem any noticable change in the colour of my lips once applied. In fact if I had to describe this to a friend, I would say it’s more of a fancy looking lip balm than anything else. It certainly applies nicely; it’s not sticky or uncomfortable to wear and doesn’t leave my lips feeling greasy. But with respect to any colour changing ‘enhancement’ I would have to say it’s a total fail.
This cost me £6.90 from KIKO which I think is a bit pricey for what is essentially a lip balm. If you’re looking to try one of their lip products I would recommend going for their Cystal Sheer Glossy Lipsticks or their Velvet Mat Satin Lipsticks instead. They’re the same price and perform much better than this ever will.
