Why does no one talk about this primer? This such an amazing product that I never knew I needed until I bought it off their website during a sale a couple of months ago. Very hydrating and comfortable, has a very sticky finish once dry but that goes away once you apply a gloss or lipstick on top. Perfect for lipsticks/gloss that don’t wear for a long time, bleed or feather all over, etc because it really locks the product in place without adding pigment to the lips so it can be worn with any colour. Doesn’t completely help with transfering but does makes it transfer less.
I love using this with my bullet lipsticks from Marcelle because it makes them wear so much longer and works really well with the formula. It also works great for liquid lipsticks. It won’t work with all lipsticks because the formula’s might not work well together so you will need to experiment a little to find lipsticks that go well with this. Comes in white tube with a small doe foot applicator that isn’t as soft as I would like but not overly hard or uncomfortable, it does the job. Super cheap it is around $4, I’m not sure how easy it is to find in stores but is always available on their site which is always having sales. Does also come in a stick version if that is what you prefer more.

The e.l.f. Cosmetics Lock On Lip Primer is a must have! I love how it applies, and it makes my lipstick lasts longer and prevents it from bleeding. It is very affordable. It works best with a matt velvet lipstick. c

I wait for a good 60-90 seconds after applying before following with a lipstick. The primer itself is a thin gel-cream and glides over my lips nicely (thanks to Dimethicone) and has a slightly runny consistency. Not only does it make my matte liquid lipstick last longer but it stops my lips from feeling and looking dried-out – which is the biggest issue I have with liquid lipsticks. So not just a primer but it doubles as a decent lip hydrator too. I still apply a very thin amount of lip balm right before applying this. It does feel slightly sticky whilst drying but don’t let that put you off as it dries perfectly. Whether bullet lipsticks or liquid I get hours of wear without having to touch up, and for only a bargain $4 and a few minutes patience the payoff is amazing.

this is a amazing product. it helps to lock your lipstick in to prevent bleeding, fading, creasing while hydrating your lips. the texture is sticky once its dry but that is what will keep your lipstick in place and isnt sticky once you have your lips on. it applies clear so it doesnt affect the colour of your lips, works really well for lips that you love but dont wear that great or want them to last longer. is really easy to apply as it has a small doe foot which isnt the softest but it gets the job done. doesnt take long to dry just a few second. i have a few lipsticks that i love the colour of but they just dont last long or are too creamy that they bleed and this primer is amazing for fixing those problem. also works really well for liquid lips that are a little drying and settles into the lines on your lips but it might be good to use a balm under depending on your lips and the product and for really creamy products. doesnt prevent transfering but the colour will stay longer. its only 4 bucks and there is a stick version of this if you prefer a stick over a liquid. i highly recommend this primer its a must have as it will make wearing lipstick more enjoyable
