I wish I could find a good color in this lipstick – but they are all too dark, too brown, too something… They are lovely though. Good amount of moisturizing, I do like the Dr. H. cosmetics. But the colors in this lipstick are just really limited – if you find one that suits you, great, but if not… well, they rarely come out with anything new.
As for the carmine thing, yeah it is gross, and I do try to stick to vegan lipsticks whenever I can. However, look at the ingredients lists for almost any cosmetics brand – MAC, Chanel, Clinique, any of ’em – yup, carmine. Unless you are buying strictly vegan cosmetics, you are ingesting those little crushed beetles.

This seemed great until I took a closer look at the ingredient list. These lipsticks contain Carmine which is made from crushed bugs. Not kidding 🙁 Some people won’t mind, but for those who do, I’m really sorry and thoroughly grossed out to be bearing the bad news.

I received #07 as a gift and I am so thrilled with how much I like it. It’s a lovely mid tone cool pink with a satiny finish. Slightly frosted but I would call it a satin, not a frost. It feels satiny on the lips, not dry at all. The smell is herbal like medicated lipbalm or aniseed or something along those lines. Very nice for the medicated lipbalm lover. It reminds me a little of the blue pot of blistex only much gentler. Goes well with my fishermans’ friends.
I find that when I wear this lipstick the condition of my lips *improves*. Gobsmacking!! Such a great lippie!!
If it weren’t for the prohibitive price I would definitely be trying more colours – we’ll see when I get to the end of this tube whether I buy again. At this stage I would say that I will.

I don’t think I’ve ever rated anything as a one star, as I try to stay objective but this has managed. I scrounged to find good qualities but came up with nothing. But to be fair, I think it may have just been the shade I got (55). It just goes on so patchy, uneven, sheer, and generally unflattering. The texture was extremely hard, but somehow waxy which made it drag on the lips. Also, it lasted about one hour on the lips. I do not recommend, or at least I don’t recommend shade 55.
grudgingTacos4
I purchased this colour in the red, I love the colour! But the formula is what I do not like, I dislike the scent of the lipstick, it smells like a crayon. The lipstick itself is not moisturising, it dries out my lips within time. It also does not last very long, I think its lasts roughly an hour and then it starts to fade and I have to keep applying throughout the day which is a bit of a pain. Such a let down as I love the colour! Most likely wouldn’t re purchase

Really amazing, sits on lips as if it’s natural!!

Hands down my HG nude. I’m brown skinned (diff tones depending on what time of yr) but basically light to med-brown (Indian descent), so this is my FINAL nude I will purchase (so I try to persuade myself lol). I’ve sooo many that I now keep half my collection in the fridge lol. I find I keep buying the same dang ‘colors’, just different brands lol…Anyhow, what I love about this paticular lipstick, is that it’s not too creamy & slidy that it has no lasting power (like their crush line), so not too slick, yet not too stiff that it’s like my Bobbi Brown lipstick that feels like Play-doh & heavy on the mouth. It’s the perfect consistency & if I want to gloss it up, I simply apply their “Lipcare SPF 15 Vitamin E” stick over it, which I also adore. I love TBS products. Not as cheap as the Drug-Store, yet not as expensive as High-End. I bought this lipstick PLUS their SPF 15 chap-stick (or whatever they really call it) for only $14.25. They constantly have DEALS.

I bought no.14 . Too pink for me. Very moisturizing but didnt stay long on my lips. As i apply it, the lipstick is soft, it gets all over the sides.
yearningRelish3
Not a huge fan of this. I prefer lipstick with a more matte finish, this was very shiny and metallic, and didn’t last all that long.

WOW ! I’ve got Pink Ice 504 A and Dark Pink Frost 530 D and love them both. They are long lasting, moisturizing, and the color stays true—not getting darker, lighter, warmer, or cooler—- after hours of wear. Very pretty shades: Pink Ice is a glowing warmish medium pink and Dark Pink Frost is on the warm side, with a name that describes it quite well.
These lipsticks are an incredible value—-and in my humble opinion as a self diagnosed lipstick addict, they put the high end brands to shame.

This brand is perfect for trying out colors you’d never usually wear. It’s so inexpensive that the guilt factor is really minimal to none. I bought a couple of these way back in 2011-2012, a bright pink and a brick red (I forgot the codes–sorry!). I ended up using the brick red a lot because the pink made my teeth look yellow. Anyway, that red lipstick sort of became my “signature look”, as my classmates in Spanish constantly complimented me about it and even my foreign professors started calling me “the girl with the red lipstick”. I think I have that Wet & Wild lipstick to thank for getting me into the “Church Of the Red Lipstick”–I only stopped using it because I finally made the leap & bought MAC’s Ruby Woo.
betrayedSalami6
I got the shade Pink Ice and its a nice pink with light shimmer. It looks great with my really pale skin and it stays on about 4-5 hours and then wears off leaving a stain. Overall this lipstick was great and I’ll more than likely buy more shades considering it was 93 cents and budget friendly to a 16 year old without a job 🙂 I even suggested these lipsticks to my mom and she loved them which is surprising because she thinks wet n wild is “cheap”. Go buy one, you’ll love it!

So far I only have tried the one color so far, (521A) but it’s wonderful. It has a very nice consistancy. I typically hate lipstick because I find most very drying.. But this isn’t. It’s moisturizing, the color is nice and the price is incredible. I’d definitely try it. Especially if you haven’t tried Wet N’ Wild in a while because I used to hate them.. But they’ve redone everything and I have to say, I’ve loved everything I’ve bought from them so far.
scornfulOatmeal4
I have all of the colors because Walgreens frequently has 50% off all of their wet n wild and so they’re only 49 cents each. They’re very pigmented and go on smoother than most other drugstore lipsticks. I don’t get the bad reviews, most of them are pretty old, and the formula and packaging have been drastically reformulated.
amazedBuzzard0
I bought color 514A, the color of the lipstick itself and the sticker on the bottom were a delicious vintage red, what went on my lips however, was a blinding hot pink/fuchsia! After trying to wash it off, my lips were stained a bright pink. The only reason I did not give this product a 1 is because it DID go on smoothly and the quality seemed good.
innocentTortoise7
Wet n Wild has really come a long way from those dry unpigmented lipsticks I used to buy as a young teen. I bought a couple today and am blown away by the creamy texture and great staining power.

Tried in bad boy…fod awful pink color…took off right away
spiritedWidgeon7
I was extremely disappointed in this lipstick. It was drying and went on caky. I bought several in the nudes line and there was not a great color in the bunch. In that same order I received Morphe and Luxe colour pops lipsticks and they both exceeded the quality of this lipstick. This lipstick is not worth the $22.

I love this line. For those of you that like highly pigmented, matte lipsticks, I believe that this is the best on the market.
Product:
The lipsticks glide on and stay on. Even after drinking and eating, the product is still there.
Texture:
It feels highly pigmented. There is not an easy glide across the lips. I find that if you use a brush, you can get a more accurate line of the lip shape.
Scent
No scent.
Overall:
Yes! I’ve decided that there is no point in buying other brands of matte lipstick. This line is excellent. I should add that if I find out that they do test this product on animals, I won’t be able to continue to support the company.

I was looking for Lip Makeup to make lips look fuller. This was reasonably helpful. It didn’t smudge easily and for the price, didn’t taste bad at all. What I would say is that its not entirely waterproof so seemed to come off a bit with every drink.
I have always wanted fuller lips and have seriously been thinking of getting collagen fillers. My husband is completely against the idea as he’s seen horror pictures of when it goes wrong. Anyone have any good make-up ideas for bigger looking lips? Preferably something I can buy from an affordable source like:

SO drying. The most drying lipsticks I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried an awful lot. It’s so disappointing as there are many stunning colours, the packaging is beautiful, the lipsticks are mostly unscented, LQ aren’t a huge multinational company… Everything should be perfect, but they’re just so dry. Irrespective of finish or texture, even the super sheer sheeny balm-like lipsticks which aren’t technically dry are still absurdly drying. Absolutely unwearable and uncomfortable. I persisted for some crazy reason and tried loads of them, maybe 20 or so… Spent an absolute fortune because I kept believing the hype. There are so many good reviews everywhere and such copious praise heaped upon the brand, guess I thought it must just be me. But whatever complimentary things I read, the lipsticks keep right on drying the hell out my lips and chapping them. If I wear them my lips are literally so uncomfortable that I can barely think about anything else. I’ll be giving all 20 or so away now, and sadly avoiding this brand in future. The emperor has no clothes, plenty of much cheaper lipsticks don’t suck all the moisture out of my lips.

I have been using YSL Rouge Volupte Shine #8 as my every day nude lipstick for 3 years now and just as it has started to run out I found Lipstick Queen and am so happy that I did. I purchased Bare Nude from the Saint range, hoping that it would be a good replacement for my almost gone YSL go-to and boy am I pleased. It is almost an exact dupe BUT lasts longer. The packaging is wonderful and light with a gorgeous matte gold exterior. I will definitely be repurchasing this if I ever need to!
crummyPaella2
In the 1990’s I had most of Poppy’s lipstick colours and can remember when the last of them was used up… it was a sad day. It was the day my quest for a decent, long lasting, full coloured, non-drying, matte lipstick, began. There was the occasional find (Orlane, Dior, Guerlain and even a Maybelline) pretty much all of them were discontinued. Why on earth do cosmetic companies do that?!
Lipstick Queen are simply the best lipsticks I have ever owned. I am 50+ and have been a lipstick investor ???? all of my adult years.
Over the years I have used all of the top end and all of the low end brands of lipsticks and was never totally happy with any of them and never repurchased
For a while I settled on the long lasting 2 packs (Max Factor Infinity, L’oreal Infallible, Chanel). They coloured my lips ok, and they do last but they never looked glam. In fact I think my lips looked smaller using these products.
The length of time a lipstick lasts on the lips is one of the most important features of a lipstick for me, along with the colour and feel of course.
Recently while rambling through the internet continuing my obsessive hunt for the perfect lipstick, I came across Mecca.com and Lipstick Queen… I was shocked to find the Master (Mistress?) of Lipsticks is back! I felt so connected to her that I felt a little betrayed that she hadn’t personally contacted me to let me know she was creating her second generation lipsticks.. I got over that pretty fast and got right on to the serious business of restocking the best lipsticks in the world. Yes that’s right, I am not exaggerating.
That was only a few months ago. As I now live in fear of losing Poppy King’s lipsticks to the ever-present risk, in the cosmetic consumer world, of discontinuation, I have been ruthless in my purchasing.
The Sinner and Velvet Rope range are described as matte and are close to the original Poppy brand only not as dry. This second wave of mattes are moist and have some sheen. They outlast all other lipsticks by hours and the colour range is much better. I generally use the Sinner colours for my first application which is done with care usually at home in the morning. I use the Saint range for retouching through the day, (the Saint lipsticks are in the same colours only much sheerer).
The Saint range are more like the balmy feel of Clinique’s Black Honey, Dior Addict, or Guerlains Divinora, only the Saint lipsticks last longer and leave a slight tint of colour on the lips after a few hours. The LQ Saint lipsticks colour choices are much better too.
The only criticism I have of the Saint and Sinner range of lipsticks is the writing on the base is very small and the labels are not colour coded – so I can spend a frustrating few minutes trying to find a particular shade. I do use them all, by the way.
The Velvet Rope lipsticks are in a league of their own. They are expensive $70 Australian, $50 US. Unfortunately there are only 5 colours, most of these are really unique/strong colours. I think if there were a few safer shades available in this line that more people would give it a go, because of the price and the courage required with all of the Velvet Rope colours it will sadly not be an option for many shoppers, particularly online buyers. This lipstick lasts like no other, it feels like a slight veil of fabric has settled on the lips and it stays true to colour for hours on the lips. Hint …the Velvet Rope – Black Tie is an amazing medium/deep red that would be perfect for the palest blonde to the darkest ebony. It is not nearly as dark as it looked to be on my iPad.
I have 2 of the Bete Noir range, the Sheer and Intense. These lipsticks are a beautiful plumb, the Intense matte is a dark beetroot colour, or the colour of the outside of a ripe dark plumb. With one swipe the Intense gives your lips a deep crimson. I tend to put this on my bottom lip and press my lips together – so that would be half a swipe. The Sheer is carried around through the day for retouches and is the most perfect colour, like a drop of red wine on a white table cloth. It is soft and sheer and lasts for a few hours. They are both comfortable to wear. I have also found if I use a LQ, balm like Frog Prince underneath the Intense, that the colour is softened by a few shades, to the most beautiful berry red.
Hello Sailor – Gimmick mood lipstick/balm – this is a balm that reacts with your lips to give a unique lilac shade to suit you. This does not do flattering things to my lips. I have found it useful to change the colour of another lipstick. I have used this over Saint Coral and the result was a lovely scarlet red. So this is a rescue remedy for other colours I may not be that excited about. It’s Blue…
Frog Prince – A big improvement on Hello Sailor only this turns your lips to a natural looking pink. The pink does stain so it is great for a bit of colour when you aren’t up to a full face of makeup. It is very natural looking and a lovely balm – its green. That seems to excite some people…
Medieval – a nice sheer red, balmy type lipstick that is easy to apply and like the Frog Prince leaves a tint on your lips. Great for retouching through the day and no mirror necessary.
I have also tried the Cupids Bow Crayon in Apollo and it is a lovely shade of crimson that is similar to the Bete Noir range in shade, not sure on its last-ability yet though.
As general comment – both the colours and finishes you will find in Lipstick Queen are unique. You will not find the complexity of colour or variation in finishes that LQ have, with any other brand. How good is it to be able to buy a deep matte colour and the same colour in a sheer, and use the matte for the first careful morning application and the sheer for retouches in a busy day. I don’t know if this was the intention but this is one of the benefits of LQ.
My only criticism of all of the products listed above is the tiny print and the need for colo

I really want to love Axiology lipsticks. They are natural and made in such a good way. I’ve got two and maybe just didn’t pick the right ones.
True is a “rich creme”. Lots of pigment and a bit of a citrusy scent that goes away pretty quickly. The description is: “This deep scarlet is truly the most romantic of reds with its hints of pink and beet.” It is very much a blue red and tending towards the burgundy or even brown. I don’t understand the description and swatches and pictures I see online compared to the tube I have.
Strength is a “sheer balm”. The description is: “A bright cherry red with fiery undertones.” It is a very nice sheer balm, pretty much a mlbb for me. Again, the description and colors seem totally off.
The packaging is nice but strangely long.

Recently, I bought two lipsticks from here and unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The quality is not so good and wasn’t last longer.
wakefulStork7
I bought a set of 5 at TJ Maxx for about $5. At the time I thought it was a steal but now I can tell why they were so cheap – the quality is awful.
The set included Mousse, a shimmery nude; Malbec, a deep burgundy; Engine, an orange-red; Vintage, a shimmery light pink; and Wild Azalea, a rich pink. I loved all the colours, especially Malbec, and the lipstick was creamy and not drying. However, about 5 minutes after I put on the lipstick I had to reapply because it was already fading and feathering. After 1 use the Mousse colour completely broke out of the package. Also, I found that while most of the colours went on easily, Mousse and Vintage were extremely dry and I got almost no colour.
If I had the patience to reapply every 5 minutes and use a package-less block of lipstick, I would wear these every day. But ain’t nobody got time for that.

I bought three of these on Ebay at discounted price as this brand got discontinued in the United Kingdom.
I have Victorian, which is a plummy-rose shade in the same family of MAC Soft Pause, Velvet, which is a kind of reddy-terracotta shade, very flattering, and Holiday, which is a rich raspberry shade. I wear this with a neutral lipliner and it turns into more of a muted rose. I like the packaging, the lasting power is good and they do not dry my lips.
They were certainly a steal at less than GPB 10 for the three! Would repurchase.

Unfortunately I’m disappointed in Paula Dorf lipstick. I got Sky Pink because spitfirebarbie had a beautiful FOTD with it. And the color is a nice MLBB staple color. So I’m happy with the color. It’s nothing phenomenal, but it’s a solid basic color good for wearing to work. It’s a solid four lipstick rating. And I’m happy with the texture. I’d give that a 4.5. But the lipstick bullet broke off like the tenth time I used it, and I used it gently each time. It makes it messy to use, so I find I just don’t want to use it. I almost never have that problem with lipsticks. The only ones that have done that so quickly and for seeminigly for no reason (like leaving it out in a hot car or applying it with too much pressure) are Vincent Longo gel lipsticks (the two I have both did that fairly quickly) and Paula Dorf. I hate to take off two lipsticks for that, but because it makes the l/s so difficult to use, II can’t rate it any higher. It’s not like the bullet is just loose. It broke free of the base completely making it quite difficult to use. And I won’t risk buying another Paula Dorf lipstick for that reason.
jealousTermite4
This is a great everyday lipstick that looks peachy-nude in the tube, but goes on a glowy YLBB pink. It’s moderately moisturizing, and the lasting power is pretty decent. Probably not worth its price tag, but it’s one of the better throw-it-on-without-a-mirror lipsticks out there.

While I’d love to buy this product again since I adore the color (“Patchouli”) I can’t — it smells! For this price I am not using a lipstick w/ a rancid scent. And it’s not just one tube since I returned it and got another one — fresh from the company HQ.
Beautiful color, lousy quality.
Also it was drying. But I would have used gloss to solve that.
Too bad.
dearBittern7
I have to give it to Paula-she makes a fantastic lipstick. I only wish I’d bought more at the Sephora clearance. I got holiday which was a little more pink than I like, but is incredibly flattering over red lipstick or a nude liner. The texture is glossy & moist but with staying power. love love this stuff
crushedLion1
I bought this in “Intensity”….kind of a coolish red. How intense the color is depends on how much you apply. For my needs, I like to put on just a little over my SPF lip balm, and it has that natural flush to it…but a heavier application gives you a lot of vibrant color. Lasts as well as any non long wearing lipstick. I get a lot of compliments when I wear it. The packaging is an issue, as the tube lid comes off too easily, I’m always finding it in my makeup bag, separated from the lipstick. That’s not good, something you might expect from WetNWild, but not a lipstick that costs over $10. Still, I would probably try other colors from this line. I like that it’s cruelty free and all that good stuff.

I love this lipstick! I usually wear a bright dramatic mouth. I have never been a fan of the nude lip on me. I look like death without some brightness, but lately I feel like it’s too much and slightly overdone looking for everyday. While shopping at Mom’s Organic Market, I tried this lipstick in the color Inspire. It’s a nudie pink with a slight peach (cream). It is amazingly flattering. I have had so many compliments and my friends have even purchased the color. If you are looking for a natural, polished everyday look, I would highly recommend. It is also very moisturizing and long wearing. I am on my third tube.

On the hunt for a neutral orange/melon lip color and tried Mineral Fusion lipstick in Melon. Love the color! Goes on smooth and creamy. The color could be almost too orangey were it not for the fact that I use a small, flat, concealer brush to blend it on my lips and then it settles into a soft neutral that’s moist (but not icky-gooey) and stays visible for hours with no color change. I found no discernible odor or taste. The packaging is lovely – a beautiful bronze lipstick tube – but quickly diminishes in no time at all from the oils on my hands. The bronze color disintegrates and the silver plastic-y or cheap metal shows through. It looks nasty. I also had a problem withe the lipstick breaking off after the first 3 days, but made an easy return to our local natural food store where I purchased it. Bottom line, the packaging is cheap and flimsy; they need better quality control and responsiveness to customer input and criticism, but the color is great and I’d buy it again (after double checking to make sure the stick itself wasn’t broken).
gleefulSeagull8
Although I love my Chantecaille Fig gloss and Chanel lip gloss (Venetian Red Silk) I’m looking for a natural alternative.
HOLY GRAIL! I’ve found it in Mineral Fusion lipsticks. I have Alluring, a autumnal deep berry ( darker than my naturally pigmented lips) and Blaze, a medium pink which is a bit lighter than my lips. I combine the two to get a MLBB, varying the concentration depending on the season and what I’m wearing. Both shades have a little bit of subtle shimmer, which I think is lovely, and not out of place in a work environment.
Tip for more mature ladies: to be youthful, aim for a color like the inside of your mouth (just pull your lip out and look at the lovely pink-red there) – that’s what you are aiming for, a juicy, young healthy color. Shimmer helps, as does a natural pink-red shade.
Let me know if you agree – also if you have other tips for a natural youthful look for ladies who may be in their 50s or 60s – or gasp~ in their 70s! Rock on!

I just bought this today in the color Flashy. The color is a beautiful combination of what I would call brick and berry colors. It has a drier feel going on, and ends up looking like a stain. Love it!

Recently purchased two shades (intensity and exotic) from Whole Foods as they have a sale on this week, and I LOVE them both! For a natural lipstick that is vegan, gluten free, etc etc, I am very impressed. What I did not notice when purchased is that some shades are normal lipstick and some are “sheer” lipsticks. It indicates so on the package, but I missed that part before purchasing and did not try on the product. Exotic is a sheer lipstick, but I actually really like it. It feels nourishing, moisturizing, and goes on smooth without smudging or needing a lip liner. It makes my lips pop and look more plump and the colour is a natural looking shade of pink, but bright pink enough to look summery and flirty without looking stupid. It is slightly shimmery and has just the right amount of opaqueness in terms of colour. It is great for daytime wear or for work. Intensity is a great shade for a night out, it is a normal lipstick, but is creamy and non-drying. Again, did not need lip liner for this, but i’m a low maintenance kind of girl and since I don’t use lip liner these lipsticks were perfect for being able to apply easily and quickly with no smudging and looking natural enough that it isn’t necessary. I applied both lipsticks without lip balm and believe me, it’s winter, my lips are pretty dry with a bit a cracking, and both lipsticks actually went on very well and moisturized my lips so the dryness wasn’t even there anymore. To my surprise, I could not believe how plump my lips look with these lipsticks. I will be going back and purchasing a few more!
UPDATE: Bought another shade- Ruby. Nice colour, although it goes on appearing more mauve than ruby red. It doesn’t look like a true red. However, I like it anyway. It is fairly glossy for a lipstick and does not have a matte finish. It slides around quite a bit even with lip liner. The previous shades I purchased seem to hold up better, which I find strange that there isn’t a standard texture/consistency/performance across all their shades (for the lipstick not the sheer lipstick). I think I’ll use this for casual outings, but would use something more long-lasting for a long event that doesn’t require frequent mirror checks and touch-ups.

This brand boast Gluten Free , 100% Vegan, Cruelty Free and Hypo-allergenic. I fell in love with the shade called Alluring. It is a rich buildable plummy pink color that looks great on my yellow based tan skin. I am excited to find natural lipsticks in an amazing shade. This was on sale at Whole Foods.

In the after Christmas sale I got the Halloween Haunted lipstick Collection Bloodlust is a red color. I love it. Is a true red applies smooth and has pleasant scent/taste. It has a novelty mexican skulls in white/red/black design, cap closes well and it looks fab. My teen DD was most impressed when she saw that had I bought it.

I think these are some of the better drugstore lipsticks in terms of colour, pigmentation and longevity. However they all do feather quite a lot:
– Red Carpet in Rose Gold Packaging: pink toned red, comfortable on the lips and very flattering
-Red Carpet in the Black Packaging: darker with gold glitter, noticeable up close under bright lights, same pink undertone
-Propaganda: red with slightly less pinky tones
They were all easy to apply but the feathering is an issue. They last pretty well with food and drink.
Update 11/04/17: I’ve ended up having to throw these lipsticks away as they made my lips break out into small bumps that were threatening to turn into cold sores. It’s a shame as I did really like the products but the bumps weren’t worth it.

I purchased 3 varieties and I really like them all.
I purchased a matte lipstick in Liberty. Another variety in Enchant. An intense lacquer in Nothing Like Anything. Overall I’m impressed. Good color. Comfortable. Lasts ok. Soooo cheap. I will get more.
Packaging is ok. Items could be more clearly labeled. But not a deal breaker.

I just got my first Makeup Revolution lipstick. It is one of the rose gold lipsticks in the shade Chauffer. I absolutely love it. I was on the hunt for the perfect nude lipstick for me. Beige-y nudes wash me out so I was looking for a nice pinky-nude. I ended up getting this one and MAC Modesty. I honestly can’t tell you which I prefer. They are not the same color but both are beautiful. This one is pigmented, smooth and just gorgeous. There is nothing I dislike about this lipstick. Now, I have looked at all the other MUR lipstick shades and all but this one are not my cup of tea. But if you’re looking for a great pinky-nude lippie at a great price, Chauffer is awesome.
grumpyHyena8
I bought this lipstick in the shade “divine”, thinking I could find a quality product for a cheap price.
Boy was I wrong.
Where do I begin? The consistency of this specific shade is HORRIBLE. So terribly dry and patchy, there’s no possible way to make it look even unless I apply multiple layers of lip balm underneath, yet it still somehow dries out my lips and makes them look cracked.
The packaging is very cheap, but what else can you expect from a 2€ / 1£ lipstick. It does have a small pot of the product on top of the cap, which you can apply with a lip brush, so that’s nice I suppose. But what good would that do if the product itself is so solid and thick that you can barely apply it?
I will give it that much; the “divine” shade really is a nice bright neutal pink. It also has a pleasant sweet fruity smell.
But just skip on these! Save a little more money and buy yourself a nicer, creamier lipstick that won’t make the surface of your lips look like the rocks you see in a desert.

Amazing brand. I find the entire brand amazing, esp when it’s BOGO50 at Ulta! It was very hard to decide when ordering online what shades to get 2 of them are nude & very nice the other is a bit of a loud orangish I can’t return coz I can’t find packaging. But oh well $2.50. I thought that 1 was gonna be MLBB. But the nudes are gorg 1 is w regular lipstick & 1 is a liquid lipstick. The 1 I didn’t like the color of was liquid. But the 2 liquids are both very long wearing, the other lipstick is a lipstick just your average nice lipstick. Good brand & high quality! Just wish the shades were more easily discerned online. Oh well 2 excellent out of 3 🙂 I got 3 high quality hi-liters & 3 lipsticks for ~$25 to play with! 🙂

Makeup Revolution Lipstick in All in One
This is a holy grail product for me! I am such a snob when it comes to lipsticks. I will not settle for anything I don’t like. I first tried this as part of a large gift set I received at Christmas. On first application I realised that it was a very moisture rich lipstick. It applies amazingly and doesn’t dry out my lips in the slightest. The colour is my perfect nude and I am wearing this lipstick on a daily basis and I have had it for 3 months. I can’t recommend this product enough.
It is amazing value for money at only £1 – I am choosing it over really expensive lipsticks from all different high end brands at the moment, which I would never expect from a product this cheap.
The packaging is strong and durable. It has survived many handbag mishaps!
I can’t really explain how good this product is – I can just say that you should definetely pick this up if you can, and hey, if you don’t like it, it’s only a pound!

The Sheer Nude is my go-to shade for the day. I usually prefer applying softer shades on my lips and darker shades for the eyes, and I am generally a big fan of nude lipsticks. Recently, I wanted to find a shade which still added some color to my face and did not make me look pale. The Sheer Nude Cream is currently one of my favorite lipsticks, and it also lasts quite long! Pro tip: Combine it with a brown Smokey eye to look amazing!
You can find my other fav picks here:

I love this lipstick! It is extremely pigmented, and the packaging is lovely. It doesn’t go on incredibly smooth, however. I don’t think this necessarily dries out your lips, but it also doesn’t do anything to moisturize them. I always wear a balm underneath before applying this. I also typically glide some gloss on because the colors I got, Pink Posy and Pink Petal, both look a little dry on. I ADORE these colors for summertime, and DEFINITELY plan to repurchase. 🙂
awedAntelope3
I bought this shade in “Flawless” and it’s the perfect nude shade. I top it with a colorless lipgloss and it stays on for hours. Even without the lipgloss, I find it stays moist for several hours without getting cakey or drying out my lips.

i purchased this in (the now discontinued) ‘elegant’ and was a huge fan of the color when it was summer and my skin was a little more golden. it’s a warm honeyish beige with just enough pink/peach to make it natural and pretty. in the colder months though, when i’m paler, the color is a little too dark and shows up more brown than anything on my medium-pigmented lips. other than that, i really like this product line. it’s moisturizing, the finish is silky and soft and doesn’t ever appear chalky, and is very wearable. the staying power is so-so but it’s more a casual lipstick that i’m okay with just swiping on periodically throughout the day. great for folks who aren’t really lipstick people.

Since Smashbox Pout is my favorite gloss of all time and I wear it pretty much everyday, I became really excited when I saw that SB added Pout lipstick to their line, and I knew I had to have it. I have very plum pigmented lips which isn’t great if you want to wear this lipstick as it’s sheer BUT with a few layers, it works, and it works wonderfully. The color is the prettiest pink I have ever seen and worn under Pout gloss (the way I am wearing it), I have what can best be described as “Barbie” lips. I have always thought and believe that SB glosses give the illusion of fuller lips so you get a pouty pucker with this duo. If you don’t have very pigmented lips, you can easily wear Pout lipstick alone but anyway you wear it, you get full looking shiny luscious looking lips and this lipstick has great staying power. It’s not cheap at $22 but it’s worth every cent to me so I am giving it 5 lippies and a major rave.
Edited: Having now worn this lipstick for a few days, I realize it’s a little too sheer especially if like me, you have very plum pigmented lips. I am now over the initial OMG I have to have this shade as it’s so beautiful stage and reality has settled in. I suspect this lipstick may be too sheer for many so as beautiful as it is, I had to change my original review because I have to use approximately 4 layers to even see the color on my lips so it is going to run out quickly and if I really want color, I’m finding I need to layer it five or six times so I will not be repurchasing this lipstick. Instead, I will use the Pout gloss which goes on more heavily so less is needed per application and I’m very disappointed as this is one of the prettiest pinks I’ve ever seen but I can still achieve all the glamour with POUT gloss.

Picked up ‘Magnificent’ which is part of their photo finish lipstick line. Love the colour it is a neutral pink with a hint of brown and peach. Very creamy, smooth, moisturizing, and glides on nicely. I find that it doesn’t last at all and I’m constantly touching it up throughout the day. For a $25 dollar lipstick I was expecting way more staying power! I don’t think I will be purchasing any further shades in the future.

I ended up swapping for one of Smashbox’s lippies (attitude) on whim, because the colour looked gorgeous. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. It’s just as gorgeous on my lips as it looks in the tube. It’s creamy enough going on and has nice subtle shimmer, I just wish it was a little less drying. Overall, a nice lipstick, but I doubt I’ll go looking for any more of them.
crushedBurritos3
I am reviewing the brand’s Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipstick.
As far as I know it comes in two finishes only (creamy, matte) and having tried both, I must say that these are quite nice lipsticks. They smell like MAC, that lovely vanilla scent and are easy to work with. Shade range is rather “humble”, but that is Elizabeth Arden after all – one of the most classic beauty brands out there, so I get why they don’t make any crazy colors.
Packaging looks quite vintage here, feels heavy and if you are collecting unique lipsticks – this could be a nice addition. Mattes here feel more like satin, having a bit of sheen to them. Both versions are very hydrating and comfortable. Plus for 26 USD, this is a good option!
To read more about this and other Elizabeth Arden bestsellers, check out my separate review here ( Hope it helps!

Since EA is one of the only readily available brands where I live I have tried many of their products. I tried many lipsticks, and the best ones were just OK, the rest were plain awful. They are drying, have strange shimmer and are in tacky colors. EA is the worst brand I have tried, and it tests on animals, I highly reccomend nobody buy from EA.

applies really nicely, really pretty colors, stay power is fairly good.

I will never buy this crap again. After the lipstick came off, the red one it stained for days. Bad packaging. I hate the name Elizabeth anway, she teams up with one of the Estee Lauder companies. Elizabeth Arden makeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeup is in my local mall, I decided to shall give it a try after getting a gift certificate for my birthday and bam. I threw this lipstick into my local beach water off the boat. Very matte. No moisture. Not moisturizing. It looks so unprofessional. It gets all over the place, staining mt clothes. I’d rather wear 99 cent crap than this I swear. This has no ettiuette and class. I also tried the testers. The perfumes and fregrenaces and other lipsticks I tried with the applicator had a bad smell. This should be one brand off the market folkies

Works for me. I love this “pink vibrations” I have. the color and texture I like as well as the taste and well, just about everything else.
pridefulCockatoo4
My friend works for Channel and gets lots of free products in all lines. She gave me Amber from Elizabeth Arden. I love the color. It’s a light beige color that shows up beige with a litte metallic look. Perfect for my highly pigmented lips. I top it with a gloss. Long lasting. Will not repurchase since I can find the color and quality in drug store lines. But no complaints.

They have some very nice colors, and the texture is satiny – something I like alot.
My current favorite right now is Solar.

This is for one of the new Ulta lipsticks.
Purchased a mauve color called Mischievous. Color is good, goes on the lips smoothly but transfers like no other lipstick I have ever had. One cup of coffee and it is gone.
I keep wearing it but don’t care to keep re-applying, so will not repurchase.
dreadfulChough9
I have several Ulta lipsticks. Would probably not buy them for full price, but when they have clearance sales going on, they are definitely worth the $2.50 I paid for each! 🙂 They have good formula, of the slightly stiffer type, stays on pretty well, and they have a lot of nice color. Would definitely recommend trying them out if you see them on sale – they aren’t on sale because there’s something wrong with them – I just guess Ulta Brand is just not very popular
finickyToucan9
The Ulta brand lipsticks are a great buy! So many shades to choose from, and on sale they are pretty inexpensive for a very nice lipstick. I bought 3 of them recently and have been happy with them. My favorite shade is 247, which is a rose shade with an extremely subtle gold shimmer. I am in NO WAY a person who likes shimmer anywhere on my face, but this shade does not look shimmery at all. I am NC15 skin tone, and this lipstick is a great workaday shade to give my pale lips some pretty color with decent wear. If you are lipstick fiend like me, it is super fun to check out all the shades and buy a few more for my collection.
boastfulFlamingo7
Most of the lippies given are to praise the color of the lipstick. I received it as part of a gift set for purchasing some amount of products from Ulta.
The shade Pink Chocolate in the Nude line is absolutely beautiful. No matter if I am rocking a fair complexion or tanned, this color is the perfect neutral. It brightens my entire face. Makes my lips look fuller. I am very picky about neutral color shades, I have to have them just right. Too nude and I look like a corpse. Too pink or brown and it’s no longer a neutral. This particular shade is perfect. I pair it with the Ulta liner in Bittersweet.
The formula is not drying or moisturizing, it’s just there. Not too long lasting, about every two hours I reapply. The Ulta lip liner lasts much longer than the lipstick. The packaging is basic but classy. For $4, yes I will be repurchasing. Clinique had my favorite neutral, but that is $18. Much better buy here.
aboardPie8
Some of the colors in this line are very pretty. This lipstick is also gluten free to less than 20 ppm–Ulta sent me an email that said so. However, this isn’t moisturizing, and it’s a little bit drying. You can wear it for a day or two, and then you would have to switch to something more emollient. I would basically avoid the Weightless line, and stick to the basic Ulta lipsticks and Nude line.
Ulta has two for one sales, frequently. On sale, this a $4 lipstick, and it’s gluten-free. It can’t be the only lipstick you own, because it’s not really emollient enough, but it might be a nice one to have in the rotation, and this is the cheapest gluten-safe lipstick on the market. (I have several. They’re the second lipstick in the cabinet or in my purse. I’m very pleased with them.)
I wear Sweet Mocha from the Nudes line, almost every day. It’s a gorgeous, professional color.
Some varieties are made in China. Those are the most drying. The ones made in Canada (it says so on the tube) are significantly better and less drying. Look for the ones made in Canada.
annoyedChile0
I’ve been trying an awful lot of lipsticks lately, and many HE brands and some drugstore. I am glad I gave these Ulta Mattes and Cremes a try. I like the no scent or taste aspect, and the ones I am referring to are made in Canada. The colors are well chosen and classic and I have found a number of colors that I really love. These are more moisturizing than Mac, and last very well. I like a slightly greasy waxy type lipstick, and these are just that. They are ridiculously cheap on sale and the containers are not junky looking like drugstore lipsticks. I hope they don’t discontinue this formula…it’s just great lipstick, imo.
Pink Sunset 241= MLbB type shade (possible dupe of chanel Mademoiselle)
Chili Pepper 203=color dupe for Julie Hewett Rouge Coco

Worst lipstick ever. The shades don’t come through well and always seem to have a purple hue that looks washed out. I got the lipstick library and not one color impresses me. Plus it is drying and tastes metallic. Never again. I ordered to get free shipping with shampoo and now I’ve learned my lesson.
crummyOcelot3
I am not a person that knows all the brands and I enjoy finding a product/makeup at TJ Max. Ellen Tracy is a new product to me. I found a lipstick color that caught my eye. To my surprise I found the formula to be creamy, non drying and nicely pigmented.

Update 12/2019 I changed my review from an overall 3 to an overall of 1, and changed to “would not buy again” —and i changed the pricing from 3 to 2–because Coastal scents has a yearly December sale where you can purchase these for around $2. I also changed packaging from 3 to 2; the tubes are cheap, and the stickers at the ends all way off center and make the product look shabby. The only reason the tubes got a 2 instead of a 1 is because the tubes worked okay (they functioned w/o issue).
While I used colors 1 & 2 as “colored chapsticks” (they are emollient), I found I’d rather use Bag Balm Lips, so I ultimately tossed these “lipsticks.” I’d given the others from my order to my nieces, but the colors were odd and I don’t think they’d look good on anyone.. my nieces tossed them after trying. They didn’t like the colors nor the lack of pigmentation (not that adults would take make up reviews from young girls). Don’t be fooled by the pictures of pretty colors on the website! SO inaccurate!! I really wanted to like them.
Original Review: Coastal Scents Lipstick was a gamble, but I blindly ordered it because it doesn’t have any of my infinite list of allergens. There are pro’s and cons.
The product comes in a sleek-looking tube–The tube looks much nicer than it really is. It’s impressive if you see it being applied by the woman next to you. It’s actually plastic (looks metallic), and has a matching color circle with the name (the names are numbers) printed in white at the bottom. From a distance they look impressive; in your hand, not so much, it’s not as sturdy as I’d expected. I’ve posted the dimensions and weight below.
. They have the texture and lip-feel of a nice, moisturizing lip balm. The colors are not at all as dynamic on the lips as they are in the tube. (The YouTube swatches and tutorials are misleading!! They do feel great on my lips! They do not dry my lips out–and most lip products do. The finish is satin–NO shine but not matte either. I really like the finish! I’d say the color is semi-opaque–it’s not sheer, but it’s not a solid layer of color either. Color 01 on the site looks (and is portrayed as a) bright pink. Even with 2 coats it’s a lovely natural color–not dynamic (as I’d hoped). These do look good over liner-covered lips, and they do tone down other lip colors while giving a lovely satin finish to whatever lies beneath. These are perfect for a “natural” look.
These have the staying power of my favorite lip balm. They transfer onto everything your lips touch (they don’t claim to be transfer-resistant). I get a couple good hours of wear. Cover Girl Continuous Color lasts longer–and is much more pigmented.. (if only they didn’t change the formula to contain my allergens). These are great for some color as your going to run errands, going to classes, and casual day at the office (needing repeated application). These are not good for eating meals out. I bought doubles, and the extras will be given to my 14-year old nieces.
The colors are very different than what I saw online, except for 01 and 02. 01 and 02 are virtually the same color. 02 is 1/2 shade muted from 01. They appear identical on the lips due to the fact they are not highly pigmented. I got 07 as a nude color–which turned out to be an ugly light gray-brown-pink. (Not the pretty nude I’d seen on my screen.) However, I will use this to tone down some of my lip colors, and it does look ok over dynamic lip pencil-filled lips. I DO love the satin finish. Due to the lack of pigment, it gently mutes–and it is not long-lasting. I carefully watched the YouTube swatches.. my computer isn’t THAT off. 🙁
The price is $3.95. These are “on sale” for $3.95 every time I’ve going to Costal Scents. Soo… not really a sale price. Considering that these are more of a lip balm and less a lipstick, the price is “meh.” (As I can rarely find a lip balm I’m not allergic to, my options are severely limited… I use what I can until I find something better)
PRO’s: NO coconut/nut/seed derivatives!! NO fragrance!!! Good for people who are allergic to a lot of ingredients!! Pretty satin finish! Great for a natural look! Moisturizing (not drying!!)!
CONs: Made in China. Very poor color selection. (I would only buy 01 or 02 again–and I’d use them as nice lip balm); colors very poorly depicted/inaccurately described on the website. Transfer onto everything… no more longlasting than a good lip balm. Colors are NOT opaque in real life.
I will continue to use colors 01 or 02 a nice lip balm. I would rate this a 5 for a hypoallergenic, tinted lip balm. However, as it’s sold as a lipstick, it gets a 3 (I wanted to give it a 2.5 as a lipstick). Here’s the ingredient and other data:

ok listen up I bought this lipstick on a road trip because I needed a quick color, so I just ran into Walmart and grabbed the first cute lipstick I’ve seen, little did I know this would be one of my favorites. I’m not quite sure what shade I have since I got it like a year ago and it’s all faded, but if you need a cheap moisturizing durable lipstick, this is for you !!

utter crap
the packaging makes it hard to use-all of the lipsticks broke. i know theyre cheap and i shouldnt expect much but these are horrible. the colour payoff is brutal and they drag on the lip.
grudgingGatorade8
The packaging on these suck (2 lippies), it’s hard to retract them & ive taken uber care not to break them off. $1 YEAHBOY!! 1 lippie for price coz they are dirt cheap! (1 lippie means cheap/good value, 5 lippies means expensive some folks don’t know this but I am a top reviewer so I thought I’d remind y’all lol IKR its counterintuitive!!) 5 lippies over all coz of beautiful colors & I plan to possess all of the $1 ones someday soon! The 1s that are $3 in the black case are awesome also matte studio lip color. All in all I like these as much as or more than wetnwild & def gonna repurchase more! They are on the sheer side but that’s ok w me. Winning!!!
crushedWeaver4
Used to hoard these lippies back in the uni days before I turned to mac. My favorite one is fantasy. The other ones are rather meh. It’s not long wearing, you kinda have to put eyeliner all over the lips and top this on to make it workable. The shade is otherwise nice for my NC40 skin. The smell reminds me of pentel crayons. They easily break as well in the packaging. Tried putting them back together to no avail. And the packaging is rather bad. Won’t stay shut properly. And i remember some years ago googling the ingredients and found two that were marked dangerous for make up products. For the price (2,9€) i’d rather up my game and buy Mac matte lippies.
Formula greasy, hard to wear by itself without lip liner completely under. Wouldn’t even buy it for a dog.
dearIguana3
I bought this in Classy, because it’s a near perfect dupe for M.A.C. Angel lipstick. For only a buck, this lippie is amazing!
Yes, it’s not exactly as smooth as some of E.L.F.’s other lipsticks, but it’s very good quality and is just as good as some of the more expensive drugstore lipsticks.
**Side note: I top Classy with L’Oréal’s leGloss lip gloss in 151 Baby Blossom. It’s almost exactly the same as Nars Turkish Delight lip gloss. I only mention this because those two colors used together seem to be really popular with local makeup artists.
wearyApples9
These are OK lipsticks. But they are so messy. The packaging opens in my purse! They also arent super long wearing. They do have a nice scent but I would rather buy better ELF lip products.
pitifulCaribou4
I love these I have sociable, classy & one that’s MIA at the moment they are very good you can build them up & they stay put even after eating though the color starts to fade I always re-apply but there amazing for the price but the packaging fault is the lids come off to easy in my little lipstick bag

KICK-A** LIPSTICK!!! Thousands of compliments every time I wear it. Now THIS is how you do matte lipstick. I have several colors from Illamasqua, but, to be clear, this is a review of the lipstick shade called “Lipstick”
The color is a bright deep pink-red with a slight coral element to it. Makes your teeth look whiter. Men love this color. When you have straight men pointing out your lipstick shade, you know it’s a keeper. Worth every penny. Love it! HG
enviousRat3
Such a waste of my money.
SOOOOOO dry and refuses to go on. i tried applying lip gloss with it, but it would just rub off on everything. No way would I ever buy it again.
humorousBuck6
illamasqua lipsticks are very hit and miss. some of the colours are creamier and apply well and stay put. but others are dry, hard to apply and crack up on your lips. if you apply balm under or gloss over you lose the staying power and the lipstick comes off easily onto glasses and when eating ect.
the best colours ive tried are plunge and corrupt and filth ( filth is discontinued)
all pinks. it may sounds odd but before i apply them i breath a few times into the packaging to warm up the lipstick and it applies better and i pat the lipstick onto lips. i usually pat an illamasqua lipstick over a mac matte lipstick (which are not as dry)
the worst- obey and fable
resolvedRat2
I love most of Illamasqua I’ve tried, including the eye shadows, which I feel blend and wear like second skin. However, the lipsticks are another story for me. I owned Flicker, Underworld, and Climax–all unique colors I like. I loved the dense pigment, and the fact that they did not cake up on my lips. But they were super drying and did not apply smoothly. Staying power was great, but I could not deal with the layers of lip balm and gloss I had to add.

Hell yeah! I am STILL on my Studio Gear red lipstick – the first I ever bought! – from FIVE YEARS AGO. Seriously. I don’t use it often anymore but it was the first true red I ever had, and when I run out I will be getting another. I love the package, and the pigment is off the chain, mang!
If you’re kind of getting sick of all things Mac, like me, this could be a good one to try next time you are in Ulta or Sephora. I really love it. The red I have (I don’t remember what shade and it has long rubbed off the sticker) is a true red that goes with anything and everything. I even melted it in my car but still go at it with a lip brush because I love it so – and I own at least 15 red lipsticks in every brand from Wet n Wild to YSL. This is a great middle ground bullet that I will be buying for a lifetime!

Studio Gear Lipstick in… And Kisses is very rich and creamy. Smooth and easy to apply. Leaves my lips feeling great-does not turn dry nor does it bleed into your lines. I love all the pretty colors also great pigments! Long wearing and looks great from start to finish. I love my lipstick! You get what you pay for:)
peskyFalcon9
Love this Lipstick!! It is creamy yet moisturizing, non-bleeding/staining, long-lasting with a semi-matte shimmer finish, which goes on smooth, with an intense color pay-off as well, no sticky/tacky build-up or bad after-taste, this lipstick is nothing short of awesome!! GO STUDIO GEAR!!

I have the cuddle up, complete colour lipstick which is a brown toned nude. Its a nice colour and is really creamy but doesnt have the “cream lipstick effect”, that I find with other brands like mac where the lipstick looks frosting like and excentuates the lines in my lips. I don’t find it drying at all and stays for a relative amount of time. Overall a pretty good lippie 🙂
enviousRuffs7
Best lipstick ever.

I got Misty Mauve in my glam bag awhile ago and I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about the color…. but I absolutely love it! It’s the perfect “my lips but better” shade. Keep in mind that I have very pigmented lips. But unfortunately they discontinued it or something because I cant find it anywhere.
crummyDove8
I got the shade “Foxy Pink” from Ipsy (MyGlam). It’s a frosty deep/darker pink. I love the color and texture (even though I’m not usually a fan of frosty colors), but the smell/taste is awful! It reminds me of the lipsticks my grandma had. I can get over it pretty quickly, but I reallyyy don’t like it! I would repurchase, though, because no one else seems to have this problem so maybe it’s just this shade. If you’re not sensitive to smells, though, the color really is perfect! A good fall neutral for those of us who are still a bit scared of the full-on plums! 😉
enviousSeahorse7
I love my Estee Lauder lipstick and find this to be a much cheaper alternative. The beige/nude color is very similar, and the consistency/smell is amazing! This Sonia Kashuk smells like cocoa butter and feels so glossy and moisturizing on the lips. Love, love, love!
brainyMare8
Love these lipsticks! Will definitely repurchase! I bought a bunch on clearance and would happily pay full price. Sadly, I think my favorite Coraline is discontinued and the only dupe I could find is from Mac and called Crosswire. The colors are sheer and smooth, yet have decent pigmentation. It’s the perfect cross between a great lipgloss and lipstick. No weird taste or smell either. Other colors I have and love are: Truffle (the perfect nude), Sugarbush, Sheer Rosebud and Sheer Bronzey Nude. I use Coraline almost every day and I use Truffle for a nude lip when I’m going out at night with a very smokey eye.
mereEland4
Bought the color azalea from the clearance bin at target. It’s such a lovely shade of peachy bright pink but the quality is horrible. Left my lips patcy, dry, and within 30 minutes wore off on some areas of my lip. Wish the quality was better because like I said it’s a lovely color.
humorousLeopard1
In a word—Inconsistent. I picked up Azalea, Sheer Rosebud, and Sheer Calypso on clearance. The Azalea is a beautiful very bright carnation pink which is opaque and not very moisturizing. I can deal with the texture and just wear balm underneath. Where I’m confused is that both the other two colors are labeled “sheer” but Sheer Rosebud shows up very opaque and dark and has a drier finish. Sheer Calypso on the other hand is actually very sheer with a moist/glossy texture. For reference, I have very pale skin and unpigmented lips so I’m used to colors looking a lot brighter/darker than they do on most people or in the tube. I do prefer sheerer, moister textures in lipstick like Boots Sheer Temptation and Clinique Almost Lipstick. I would probably take a gamble and buy these again, I just wish the names on the tube actually described the lipstick better.
lyingLapwing4
Just bought this in Soft Pink after seeing it recommended on The Small Things Blog. Works great for my coloring. It’s not very long-lasting though but does feel nice.
chicFish5
I bought this in sheer Calypso,I don’t know what I was expecting because I bought a sheer lipstick but I want more color and coverage for my lips.Though I don’t wear this by itself I use this best by layering it underneath an opaque lipstick and I just loveeee the result ,it gives my lips that moisturized look, just the right sheen.
dreadfulDoves5
I LOVE this lipstick. I got my first tube about a month ago and its absolutely fabulous. It goes on very smoothly and does not dry out my lips. Also it lasts for a while. I recommend it to anyone and can’t wait to go back and get some more
jubilantRelish7
i have the turn on lipstick and its matching 24/7 lip pencil, oh wow these are creamy full coverage product with shiny finish.
the formula is excellent, has intense pigmentation and long lasting ( at least for the shade turn on). scent is subtle and not overpowering. it’s packed in a metallic luxurious edgy casing but i dont really care about packaging, im more about performance.
i only wish it has a more neutral undertone, i have to adjust my foundation shade to suit the lipstick’s cool undertone.
with its great formula, UD needs to add more shades that will suit global skin tones. and current, trendy shades as well.
this lipstick needs to get more love. 4/5
abjectStork7
i got Confession which is a dark berry color that is perfect for the winter and Pistol pinky-brown with light shimmer, color actually more of like my natural lips. I got them for 3$ on their website but i will never pay 22$ for them, they are good but nothing special. The packaging looks bulky and just too big for the amount of product you get but anyway i would get more colors if they had.
pluckyCaviar4
Disappointed in these. The colors are beautiful! No bad scent what so ever, did they reformulate? However, they are horrible as a stick. Way too soft, it leans to the side after one or two applications and gets on the packaging. Because of this the staying power is bad. I have 6 shades and only one, more on the matte side, is OK. I got mine on sale for $8, and I wouldn’t repurchase even at that price. I’d be really upset if I paid full price. I can think of better drugstore formulas.
*edit* The sword handle broke off of two of my lipsticks and I can’t even open them now. I kept them in a purse that I don’t even use that often, so it’s not like they’ve gotten misused. I’m sure there is some way to pry the top off, but these were such a dud it’s not even worth it for me.

I looove Urban Decay products! I have this in Hotpants which is a bright pink w silver in it I wouldn’t call it silver sparkles per say more like a very slight frost effect that is absolutley GORGEOUS! Personally I like the scent and taste of this lipstick, I would describe it as smelling and tasting like cotton candy It lasts and lasts and lasts and well you get it haha This will last for hours on end and I’ve even had it go through dinner! The packaging is fantastic and will def stand out from other lipsticks, it doesnt look like a cheap basic boring tube It’s funky with its cap being clear w purple swirls and designs and the case is a bright shiny purple w the dagger on the end. I haven’t encountered any probs. w my lipstick ( ie melting, bitter taste etc.) I will def repurchase this color again and I can’t wait to get more colors! i would also def reccomend to a friend Happy Shopping! =^.^=

I initially really liked all the Urban Decay lipsticks I had, but I grew to hate them over time. I thought the texture was creamy, but they ended up getting very gloppy in texture. It became difficult to even out the color when I applied it. The fragrance is also disgusting. I usually try to ignore that kind of thing even though I am sensitive to smells, but it was just too off-putting after awhile.

I LOVE UD lipsticks. I have them in Naked and Rush, and just ordered Lovechild. The best part about UD lipsticks is the formula. Super creamy, highly pigmented. They don’t settle in lines or make your lips look or feel dry. They don’t last super long, but I guess that’s because they are so creamy. This was my first one, and I’ve bought 2 more since then. Not a huge fan of the packaging-the sword is a bit of a pain. From what I can tell from mine though, it looks as though you could still twist it up if it did happen to break off. I just make sure to carry it inside a little case. It’s a bit spendy, and the packaging is a little bit of a pain (but cute!) but it is WELL worth it. It’s hard to find a good selection in stores; Ulta has a few, but UD and beauty.com have a big selection. (NA) These lipsticks are fantastic, highly recommend!
vengefulCur9
I tried to love these. The colors were great, the formula went and stayed on nicely. Downside, they smelt like licorice gone bad and tasted of bitter chemicals. I for one thought the packaging was cute but probably not very practical.

Inde or Indi (depending on where you buy it, it seems to have different names) is the perfect “Kim K” nude lipstick. I’m NW30 and with pigmented lips yet this lipstick doesn’t make me look washed out. It is pink with a touch of brown. Hydrating and last a long time (until you eat or drink) but leaves a stain. I will repurchase. Bonus is that it is vegan with no animal by products, none of the usual toxic stuff like parabens (hormone disrupter).

This lipstick is by far the best I’ve ever tried. It’s also very moisturizing like a lip balm. Sometimes I’ll use it in place of a lip moisturizer, simply because it’s that great. This lipstick is not for everyone. It’s classic, understated French luxury. And yes, I will be buying Compliment Beige for as long as I’m alive.
Find your perfect color. Once you go Serge, you never go back.

Although not with the best price-to-quality ratio, Lutens’ lipstick certainly has a distinctive and strong formula. Mauve de Swann (#06) is a unique nude with pink to lilac undertone. Being a supposedly sheer colour, she miraculously lasted 5-6 hours along with a cup of Starbucks. Astounding performance that beat several of my matte liquid lips and stains, with minimal degradation overtime. Plus, the impeccable package design in clutch size is another plus.
In short, this is one of the not-so-rip-off petite lux item. I’d recommend to make a splurge if circumstances allow. I wonder the performance of the reds and purples, maybe as a refill in near future…
somberStork2
Mauve the swann: It looks like “ok, yes, I’m dead, now go die yourself”. Not only the colour, the texture this gave to my lips reads death as well.
fondSeagull2
Yes, this stuff is very expensive, but the quality is also supreme. I get rich, opaque colour from only one swipe, and the lasting power is unparalleled. I picked #9, a gorgeous, bright merlot shade (not a deep dark vampy lip colour). The packaging actually feels quite hefty though the size is tiny, and it definitely gives me a luxury feeling.
aloofOcelot3
Ah, the mystique of Serge Lutens. I ordered one of the lipsticks from the cosmetics line in #6, a creamy beige-pink-gray. I deliberated between a classic red or darker shade, and a more wearable neutral. After speaking with the MUA at Barneys during the GWP promo last Sept I opted for the neutral shade. It is creamy, but sadly that is where the positive attributes end. I wish I had my $75 back!
Let me list what I don’t like:
– TINY – really, I have lipstick samples the same size or larger
– not long lasting
– odd sensation of not being hydrating despite creaminess
– the color is equal to my lips with lipbalm
Those are pretty important negatives! I mean, that is basically everything you can comment on in a lipstick. I am not sure how all those negatives resulted in an overall score of 3 – I guess because I like the general look on – but I would recommend ONLY buying one of these after testing at a counter! Save your $$$ for Guerlain!

This is hands down the best lipstick I’ve ever used! I know it’s pricy but it’s the only lipstick I actually want to put on my face. The staying powder is unbelievable and the texture is awesome! I’ve used lipsticks with similar color payoff but very drying. The colors can seem either too dark or light but I believe they are actually meant to be used mixed. But I have the darkest red shade and I like the color.
drearyBittern5
It’s not worth the hype. Not long lasting, transfers very easily, drying and the price is insane. Except votre sienne (if somebody knosw a good dupe for it, please let me know), the other colors are dupable, it seems couvre feu is very close to YSL pur couture N°08 Belle de Rose.
lovesickCockatoo8
Ok but not amazing. Was a bit disappointed since I love Cargo cosmetics so much. I have “Tokyo” a very light/ soft camellia pink. Creamy consistency but has no staying power. Not a huge amount of product. I love soft neutrals but wish it was more pigmented. I will not repurchase and if I hadn’t bought on sale I would be really kicking myself.

I have looked at these lipsticks I don’t know how many times. I even swatched them before. And I don’t know why, but all of the sudden, I have fallen in love with them!! Such flattering shades to start with. Fun shades, some bright shades, some natural shades, some more subdued shades, but all the shades I have so far are very flattering! Colors aside, what matter just as much (especially as a woman in her 40’s with aging lips), is performance, formula, wear time, application, etc. For me, these get 5 stars/5 lippies on all counts!! These perform beautifully for me, lasting a good approximate 5 hours, some of the brighter shades then leave a flattering stain. But all of these, as they wear off, do not tun gummy or gunky nor funky colors.
They apply like butter and feel smooth, very comfortable to wear. Almost feels like a balm. And for me, a key factor is that they do not settle into my lip ines nor make my lips look dry and old. If anything, these make my lips looks supple and even “youthful” again.
I am not a fan of Cargo’s packaging. I appreciate simple and clean lines, but to me, the design is too..looks too ‘factory’ for me, or feels kind of cheap, so I do kind of wish they had better packaging. But to me, packaging is strictly just personal preference. How a product looks once applied and how it wears and how it makes you feel is what matters. And all 5 shades I now have of these apply beautifully and easily, they all wear beautifully throughout the day and make my lips ‘look pretty’ and feel very comfortable, which in turn makes me feel very happy!!!
Can’t believe I looked at these all these years and just kept passing them by!!
Will definitely repurchase. I am not one to get one of each shade from a lipstic collection, but I think this collection just might come close! IMHO, Cargo is such an underrated, not-talked-about-enough brand. Maybe if they had prettier packaging.. 😉
But seriously though, these are very nice lipsticks. Excellent pigmentation, true to color, nothing funny or funky feeling nor looking, they just wear very nicely, and really no scent that my sensitive nose detects.
forsakenCrackers0
This is probably my favourite lipstick that I currently own. I have it in ‘Majella’ and got it in a goody bag from an event. It goes on really well and doesn’t fade for ages. Will definitely repurchase it if I can find it!

Pros: ZOMG! Biodegradable! So, so pretty! Be patient with these lovelies. They need a little bit of time to really settle and “turn” on your lips. I’d say at least 5-10 minutes. I have Nahinni, Yakushima and Maria. More below.
Cons: None, aside from the fact that you’ll have to really try these on and give them time to fall in love.
Maria: “Sheer poppy red cream” – I swipe this on over a nude liner by Fresh and let it settle into the most beautifully soft red natural lip ever. I am not exaggerating when I say the final effect is post-sex, post-Popsicle, post-eating-berries, post-workout all wrapped into one.
Nahinni: “Shimmering copper brown” – I put this on and I hate it, b/c it looks too brown, but I ignore it and check my lips in the rearview mirror on the way to work 20 minutes later and it’s, of course, a lovely “my lips but better” shade.
Yakushima: “Sheer glimmering red” – More of a sheer glimmering tart pink on my lips, but still a fun and subtle pop of color. Would probs reach for Maria over this, but when I want a little touch of sass, this does fine!
relievedCoati4
I got the plant love botanical lipstick in yellowstone (a plummy mauve). I like the feel of the lipstick on my lips, not too heavy or shiny (i tend to dislike the glossier lipstick) medium creme/ matte finish. Adorable packaging I’m always worried the top will fall off, so I keep it in a tinier makeup bag in my purse. Really good for lipstick, no weird taste, medium staying ability. I recommend it.
worriedKitten8
I have noticed, sadly, that these are getting harder and harder to find. Sephoras are now carrying only a few colors, even online. That’s a shame since Cargo’s Cream lipstick formula is about the nicest I’ve ever used. It’s light and leaves a creamy, moist look with a low-wattage shine. No gloss for me over these. The color never gathers into the vertical lines on my lips, never bleeds and isn’t drying in the slightest. I don’t notice any scent. I have Dalkeith (a pinky brown that’s less plummy than MAC Twig or Nars Pigalle), Satori (warm berry-brown) and Dakota. This one is my favorite, a deep, warm rose. Some would call it a brick or a red-brown. It looks brown in the tube but shows up quite bright on me. At the same time, it’s softer than the colors I have that I’d put into the red-brown family (like Nars Mongolian Red). I wear this when I’m feeling blah or my face just looks dull. It’s an instant pick-up.
I always expect the tubes to come apart in my purse, but they never do, so they must be sturdier than they look.
relievedClam6
Great brand of lipsticks, right at the top of my list. Packaging is minimalistic, which I love, although they can look a little dirty after several months inside a makeup bag – but you’ll never notice until you buy a new Cargo lipstick and see them side by side. I find most lipsticks drying, and regardless of what brand (with the exception of Clinique’s Buttershines), I always need a lipbalm prior to lipstick application. Cargo is no different, but it feels luxurious going on, without an obnoxious smell or taste. My favorites in the line are Plume (I can’t even begin to describe the bronze-pink-peach-beige color, as it will undoubtedly look different on every face it touches), and Val D’Or (a drop dead gorgeous sparkling wine).
lazySausage2
I have this in the liquid long wearing lipstick in Buttercreme frosting (a very pale shade….think jersey shore) I love this shade & the color stays on decently, good price. I would def buy more colors I just never see Jordana in my travels much. But this is a high quality lipstick. #winning
finickyOwl8
I discovered Jordana Cosmetics last summer and have become a big fan, I have tried out an assortment of their products, the lipsticks being one of them.
The lipstick itself is a nice product, I don’t find them to be too drying, I wear a balm underneath though whether I need it or not which probably helps as I have read mixed reviews on these. The packaging isn’t flashy, it’s plastic and pretty basic which doesn’t bother me. But if I were to drop it on the floor or something, would the packaging hold up.
I have tried several colors, many of them were nice but ultimately were not the best shades for me, likely because they were too dark or frosty (Caramel, Cinnamon, Copper Penny, Plumwine). Jordana has a lot of dark colors in this line which is great but I don’t wear dark colors all that much anymore.
Recently I picked up Nude, Natural and Natural Touch, as I seem to be obsessed with nudes or neutrals right now. I like Natural, Natural Touch and Nude in that order. Natural is a pink nude as described on the website, Natural Touch as a rose nude, and Nude as a nude peach. I find Natural to be more nudey peach, and Nude to be a touch more pink. Out of these two colors I prefer Natural, which I find to be really similar to Nude from the Matte lipstick line. Side by side they look very similar but Nude is a bit more pinky.
Natural Touch is a nice color too but darker. It reminds me of Milani’s Naturally Chic, but also reminds me of a lighter version of Wet N Wild Spiked with Rum which I had high hopes for but was too dark for me.
I would repurchase Natural, and likely Natural Touch as well even though it’s quite similar to a shade I already own and really like. Nude is a nice color too but I prefer Natural a bit more and don’t need both of them because aside from the slight pink difference, they are very similar.
I rate these lipsticks 4 stars, they are a nice product and an even better price. It’s fun to try out many different shades without breaking the bank and if you find out that certain ones are not for you, at least you aren’t out a ton of money. Jordana has a huge selection of shades to try. I see myself trying more shades in the future.
stressedDinosaur3
I’m just going to run through a few Jordana colours that I wear regularly. These are all ones that apply and last well, with a nice texture.
For reference, I’m a pale – neutral – brunette with freckles and green eyes.
098 – Caribbean
Bronze. This is an orangey bronze colour with a gold shimmer. It’s very pretty, but I never wear it. It reminds me so much of my Mum, back in the 80s… I’m not sure if the colour actually ages me, or if it’s just those associations. I should give it to Mum and see if she likes it.
005 – Blackberry
A deep purple burgundy. Not overly pigmented, but layers well.
-Update- mine went rancid… it got that gross plasticy scent, and hardened. It must have been an old one when I bought it, and I haven’t bothered replacing it yet (I have a couple of similar colours that work well in it’s absence).
189 – Natural Touch
Creamy, incredibly easy to wear. LIke an enhanced version of my own lip colour. A touch of taupe in pink.
001 – Amber
Orange. Doesn’t have the chalky texture that a lot of orange lipsticks seem to have. A slight shimmer, but nothing too bad. Surprisingly highly pigmented. Quite vampy.
077 – True Red
A blue-based red. Not particularly pigmented, making it an easy colour to wear during the day. Quite summery, fades to pink.
078 – Bright Red
Such a cool red. Really bright, with a slight gold/orange shimmer to it… not noticeable, but JUST enough to give it some pop.
127 – Brown
So awesome. A deep, dark brown, that gives that super rich 90s colour payoff. A good alternative to a black, as it’s nice and warm, but still dark.
wornoutMackerel2
These lipsticks where Matt or regular are great for price. For me they donyhe same thing that the expensive one’s do. The color selections are great, they last and it last on your lips. I only apply this twice 1 in the morning and after lunch.
sadPlover9
I bought several of these lipsticks. The texture is nice, but I haven’t yet found a color that is right for me. I want to review the colors that I bought
Coco malt. This is a brownish color, It is frosty (shiny)
chestnut This is also a brownish color. it is less frosty than coco malt, but is still frosty (shiny)
terra cotta – this is a reddish color. im very conservative and this is too red for me.
Natural – this is a light cool pink color (i am warm toned)
taupe (matte) (gold tone case) – this has a reddish color and is a bit too dark for me (i am fair skinned and conservative)
the textures of these lipsticks are good. its a matter of finding the right color. The price of these is right.

Okayy soo..
The matte ones (in gold tubes )
57 Hot Kiss
Tangerine Tango
And 50s Scarlet Red
Are all amazing, a little bit cakey but some chapstick before hand does the trick 😘
But… sadly.. The normal creme based ones (in silver Tubes )
072 Plumwine
089 Black
And 005 Blackberry
Are absolutely TERRIBLE.
Even after 20+ coats they don’t cover up your lip color. They’re so sheer, so difficult to even put on that it’s stupid.
And you seriously can’t get no messed up or smudged edges because these just run and slide all over the place. 😔😣
Look like a freaking clown with watery clown lips.
Seriously disappointed 😪 but theres bound to be a crappy set. There a $1 a piece. 😂 Oh well.

I got Beach Bronze & Sweet Apricot in the clear cases on clearance for $2 CAD @Pharmasave. I love the staying power. Don’t like the smell, packaging or sparkle in the actual lipstick, but I solved that by combining it w/ a gloss or another lipstick., Altho at 2bucks a pop I guess can’t complain lol. Extremely pigmented which is a good thing. I won’t wear them with a full face as they’re darker then I usually wear as I like a nude lip for the majority of days, but w/ a bit of mascara and I’m all set 🙂

Goes on smooth, stays smooth and the colour lasts! It was more than what I expected when I initially brought this lipstick.
truthfulPepper8
i have this in shade 06 and 54.
06 is a dark nude pink. it is not a light pink, more in the brown/mauve side. its smooth and is definitley not overpowering. the lasting power is pretty much the same as any lipstick… 2-3 hours without eating or drinking anything.
54 is a frosty light nudish pink. id use this if you have a dramatic eye. when i wiped it off there was shimmer, but i couldnt notice much shimmer on my lips. its smooth to apply and the lasting power is the same as 06.
the body shop is an underrated brand. ive tried some of their eyeshadows and theyre amazing. id definitley recommend these lipsticks to anyone and $12 isnt so bad for a higher end brand.
mercifulPepper3
I have this lipstick in shade 66 which is a coral orange. It is a flattering lipstick color for my complexion.
It goes on smooth like a lip balm but because of that, it only lasts as long as a lip balm. I need to reapply this frequently if I want to have color on my lips the whole time I’m out. It smells good and has a nice, slightly sweet lipstick taste. (I lick my lips a lot)
It has a sort of frosted finish to it. Kind of matte but kind of frosty or shimmery. I can see this being a problem for a woman who has a lot of fine lines around her lips or for anyone with chapped lips.
insecureBustard7
While these aren’t the best lipsticks on the market, they’re perfect for experimenting with colors you wouldn’t usually try. If you’ve been craving a dark red or bright pink but don’t want to spend the money on something you’re not sure you’ll wear or will look horrible on you, buying similar wet n wild shades can help you make your decision. Many other drugstore brands are somewhat expensive ($9-$12 for a lipstick) but these are consistently under a dollar and are often on sale. If these were selling for much more I wouldn’t rate them so highly, but they are much better quality than their price lets on. I recently bought a couple and found them creamy and not drying. The only real problem I had was that they came off very easily if my lips came in contact with anything. Also depending on the store, there may not be a great selection
forsakenOil5
These have been a staple for me for years. How can you go wrong with $.93 cent lipstick?! You really can’t beat these. The WnW display is where I head to first when I’m craving a new color, cause I can experiment & not worry about spending too much. They’ve really improved their formulas in the last few years too. They smell nice & apply smoothly, though I wish they had just a bit drier texture.
pitifulPretzels7
This is #527 also known as Pink Frost. Unlike a lot of the reviewers I found this to be quite a nice lipstick. It was smooth, creamy and well pigmentated. This is a big step up from the WnW lipstick of a couple of years ago. Those were quite waxy and hard so this was a pleasant surprise. The staying power was average to slightly above average for a lipstick. The frost in the formula isn’t overpowering and the color looked quite nice with my NW20 skintone. I paid .50 for this one on sale – a real bargain for this IMO. I also like the fact that these are so cheap you can buy one for every event or outfit w/o breaking the bank. The packaging could be a little cuter but it is functional. I would definitely buy this color again and will continue to purchase WnW lipstick.
yearningGnu9
I have two of the Saint variety. They’re ok, but nothing to write home about. Just glorified lipbalms, really. Certainly NOT worth the high price.
awedTeal1
I am very disappointed. Deep Red Sinner is not matte at all. In fact, it’s very shiny and wet-looking. Of you’re a matte lipstick lover. Stay away from Deep Red. I’m not sure if I got a dud, but I sure am not buying other Sinner shades.
I’m giving it a 2 because it’s still a good lipstick. Maybe people who like MAC’s amplified or satin formula would like this more. It’s very pigmented.
grudgingShads9
I have bare nude from lipstick queen which is an essential day to day colour to have! Lipstick queen is amazing! Not only does it apply smoothly on the lips but it does last for a very long time! I have dry lips, so when I wear lipstick it can often dry up and look clumpy and uneven, however my lips stayed hydrated with this lipstick! I know its pricy but I would recommend it to anyone, because you will have a lipstick that works instead of buying cheap ones that fade fast; its an investment!
jumpyCamel3
i have paula dorfs lipstick in “flirt,” which applies a bright plummy rose on my lips. its a nondrying lipstick, which i like, and the staying power is relatively good for a lipstick. the only reason i wouldnt buy this again is because i dont use it enough to justify it, but that may just be because im much more a fan of lipglosses and not lipsticks.
mildLion9
I didn’t use a high rating in terms of packaging because the lipstick was already leaning on the side of the tube when I got it.
I got hold of this lippie as a freebie in a seminar. I absolutely love the color. I use this when I feel like wearing nude colored lips! The cast of Sex & the City loves this shade!
panickyCoati2
This line of lipsticks is absolutely amazing! There is such a variety of colors, and the colors are so rich and unique. I have fair skin and tend to wear more neutral colors, but everytime I try an “exotic color” from this line, it just works! I’m always so surprised. I especially like casino and sassy, both which just looking at them, don’t look like they’d work on very many people. But just give them a try. The sassy especially reminds me of christmas time because its red with some sparkle, it looks like a slightly darker lipstick version of Dorothy’s ruby slippers. Plus, these lipsticks combined with her diamond lip slide is to die for! I’ll always look for my lipstick from this company first.
eagerSmelt6
I don’t know what to explain about this lipstick line specifically…it is a perfect formula (no bleeding, is creamy, looks even and perfect on, wears well with or without lip balm, beautiful colours). I plan to get them all. Quality is great, high end worthy.
awedLocust8
BACKGROUND: Needed a lippie that matched my previous HG, Lancome Color Fever Dewy Shine 101 (what it lacked in staying power it made up for in moisture and easy application), and decided, on a whim, to look for a color match while shopping for groceries at Whole Foods. Found Mineral Fusion’s Inspire as a close match, but also saw Alluring as the lipstick I was looking for but two shades darker – needing a darker lipstick, I went ahead and took the plunge with Alluring without sampling it at the store first.
PRODUCT: Texture is light and straight-forward, not very moisturizing. However, the precision, level of pigment, and staying power is great. The color straight from the tube came on too strong, but nothing some blotting and gloss couldn’t fix (I added Stila’s Apricot for a shade that perfectly complemented my natural blush). Super nice plus is that I haven’t seen any lipstick stains on the wineglass I’m drinking from so far! Disliked the vaguely crayon-y smell/taste, although I imagine that may partially be from from its absence of artificial add-ins.
VERDICT: Worth it – when used for nights out and special occasions, this will last a long long while. I would definitely repurchase, and am interested in trying other shades. This is great for what lipstick is supposed to do – provided a solid, flattering base of color – and lets you play with gloss and balm to your heart’s content while providing fool-proof coverage.

The Mineral Fusion Cosmetics line was featured at my local Whole Foods, so I took a look at the lipsticks and fell in love with the color Gem. It looked like the perfect red for my pale skin and dark hair. When I went home and looked it up online, it was described as a “shimmering cranberry plum” shade. I don’t see plum, but I do see a beautiful, soft, subtle red shade — a very natural blushing red color. I think I have found my Holy Grail lipstick. I’ve read that pomegranate extract and rooibos tea can stimulate collagen, so I consider this a plumping lipstick. But Gem is just… wow. It is an amazing red. I don’t think I will ever be without it. It is definitely a cranberry red, but also a pomegranate red, a true pomegranate red. My lips look softly red, as though I’ve bitten or kissed or been wind-burned. And the formula is so moisturizing and nourishing! I hope this brand and this shade stick around!
pitifulDove9
I bought 100% vamp today and I must say I am terribly disappointed. The colour won’t stay whatever I do (including lipliner urgh).
So yep, thoroughly disappointed but I guess you can’t ask for much with only £1 each :/
truthfulMallard5
I was so disappointed with this lipstick! Thank goodness I tried this on at home because I would’ve looked like the Joker out in public. I spotted these at Ulta and they offered a lot of gorgeous shades. Plus, they are so cheap! With fall around the corner, I wanted to try a vampy dark shade. I picked up Rebel With Cause. Beautiful shade in the tube. (I posted the this shade as the review pic). In the tube, it is a very dark cool blue toned berry. What I got was a blotchy sheer ugly pink red on my lips. Everything is wrong with this lipstick. The application is messy. It bleeds like no other! It migrates up around the mouth. It doesn’t glide on easily either. It skips over wet portions on the lip. It feels cheap on. It feels like melted plastic wrap. I tossed it in the trash after one at home application! It was that bad.
worriedDotterel1
I had “Make me tonight” from the Atomic Collection and it was the stinkiest (imagine eau mummified rodent dipped in shoe polish), streakiest most awful lipstick I’ve ever had the misfortune to own. It even had a godawful taste!
Maybe I got a dud or maybe their other 1£ lipsticks are actually decent – I’m not going near them again.
wrathfulPepper4
the lasting power is pretty good, but indeed not the best, i still love this lipstick tho (i have the shiny gray metal looking lipstick in “elegant”). it’s super moisturizing when compared to most lipsticks and almost gives me a nice moist looking sheen to my lips. i also love this color which i can’t find anywhere else. the color’s similar to mac’s siss but not as pallid.
peacefulCake3
I absolutely love the feel of Smashbox lipstick on my lips. It is moisturizing and smooth. The colours are flattering on any skin tone IMO. However, the staying power isnt the greatest. It definitely does not sustain eating a meal. I will still repurchase because of the moisturizing effects.
peacefulOcelot9
The color payoff of Smashbox lipsticks in very good and the color stays on longer than most brands. This is probably the reason why I find them drying to my lips but that can be remedied by using a lipbalm under or over the lipstick. Their color selection is very nice and the colors usually look better on than they do in the tube. Another plus is that these lipsticks do not have any scent. I still prefer my Holy Grail Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks but these are definately worth a try.
truthfulGranola8
I am surprised by how much I like these lipsticks. They are very matte, without drying out your lips, and the colours are nice. Packaging is lovely, too.

Elizabeth Arden lipstick in HUSH
I’ll give this one a 4 lippies because I think it’s very expensive and the packaging is less appealing. But EA lipstick in Hush as seen in November2003 issue of Allure Mag.Catherine Zeta-Jones n the cover is such a gorgeous neutral color. I’ve been long contemplating if I’d buy this one because of the price/packaging but I am glad I did!! just today! because the color is sooo nice and very natural looking. 😉 Oooopsss mistake here giving EA 4 lippies!

Call me a contrarian, but I LOVE EA lipsticks! The colors are great and they are surprisingly moisturising. My faves are Iced Coffe and Dash. Try one, and you’ll be hooked!

I keep on receiving these lipsticks in the promotional ” buy this and get this free” ads. I hate this lipstick. I hate most of Ulta’s stuff, anyway. But back to the lipstick. I have around three of these tubes and I never use them because they aren’t worth the trouble an time needed to keep fixing them. First of all, the colors are really nice. I like the colors, they are bright and interesting. What I don’t like is the huge smear that happens as soon as you put the lipstick on. I swear, you breath too hard and the lipstick smears all over your face. And it is almost assured that the lipstick won’t stay on your face, either. It fades faster than rainbow as soon as you get too close. Anyway, this lipstick is not a good idea for regular use. If you want to be a zombie for Halloween this brand is perfect. Just put the lipstick on and sigh a couople of times. It should spread in no time!

I bought these when they were on sale, 3 for $9.00. Great deal, since they retail for $8.00 a piece. Well..not so much, imo..I got these in the shades Smoky Quartz, Berry Pretty, and Sangria. Smoky Quartz looks like I slathered a light oil on my lips with a touch of silver glitter. Where is the pigmentation..? I realize and expected Smoky Quartz to be a lighter shade, but I swiped a bunch of times and built absolutely no color at all. It just looked like a glittery oil on my lips..? (I am NC15-NC20, for reference). Berry Pretty I thought would have better luck with, but it was the same, I barely noticed anything at all. I swiped this one a bunch of times and got no color really to speak of. Had I not known myself I just applied lipstick, I never would guess I had any lipstick on!! All I felt was a globby product on my lips. I had hopes for Sangria, I mean, c’mon, a wine shade..? Nope, even it had hardly any pigmentation to speak of. All of these just had me swiping like crazy in hopes of pigmentation and just getting a gloppy feeling on my lips. I would have given these 1 star but they do feel nice on the lips, even though they give no color. I suppose they might be nice for a moisturizing aspect and sheer wash of hardly any color, but if I paid the full $8.00 a piece for these, I would have been really disappointed. I might still take these back, they were that disappointing (the problems of ordering online is you can’t swatch the products). There are better balm-type of products out there (which to me, that is what these remind me of), for better pricing and that perform better. I would say pass on these. If you use them and love them, great! Glad they work for somebody. But I would not recommend these. It is crazy to me that the Ulta lip butters (which usually lip butters tend to be more sheer than lipsticks) give me far more pigmentation than these lipsticks, and the Ulta lip butters are about half the price of these lipsticks. But these were just a total pass and major disappointment for me. 🙁

Writing about 218, A Good Year for Wine
Picked it up on impulse because I lost another tube in a similar color. I LOVE it. Usually I have to wear lipbalm under all my lipstick because my lips are dry, but this lipstick can go on naked and last for ages. It does take two layers for full color payoff, but I like that I can tone it down if I want to. It fades to a lovely stain when it’s done.

I bought three of these today fearless and two others I think fearless looks a lot like ruby woo ots not as matte but the color is spot on and of you put a lil translucent powder over top then it magically turns into ruby woo lol…these lipsticks are nice for the price.

My review is specifically for the color Fantasy, as it’s the only color I own. This might actually be the worst lipstick I have ever used! No matter how much you swipe this lipstick, it never gets even somewhat opaque! The color is a dead brown color that is unflattering and the smell of this lipstick is so overpowering it makes me want to throw up. I know it’s only $1, so my expectations were not so high, but seriously, this isn’t even worth a buck! There are other cheap lipsticks, such as from Nyx, that are so so so much better and have great color pay off. Never purchasing ELF lipsticks again. Ever!

Have this in the Fantasy shade. Gorgeous colour and suits my skin tone perfectly. It’s a brown-orange shade and looks beautiful and sexy on my lips.

i got the color “warm embrace” from my glam bag and at first i hated the color. i tried the color on again before going to work and fell in love with it when i saw it in natural lighting. it’s a very warm red, perfect for my skintone. although you can wear this color year round, i would definitely prefer it as my winter shade. the color did fade througout the day, but reapplying isn’t too much work. my lips are also the dry side, so i had to apply really good lip balm before applying this lipstick since it dries very matte. the only problem is that it bleeds, so i would recommend lip liner. other than that i would love to try more lipstick shades from studio gear!

someone said they have nice mauve colors and that is sooooooooo true of this line.. they really have an awesome line of lipsticks… nothing too flashy… but if you adore reds you are in absolut eluck and as for nudes.. the have a color called divine that truly is divine as stupid as that sounds lol.. but they also have a new shade i eblieve it’s called sunset blvd.. and i am sooo fair and it looks good on me which is saying ALOT… it has a peach flair to it with a little pink and mostly nude, it really is unique i tried to find a similar color at mac ( i also tried to find a similar color that looked like studio gears burlesque)… but no such luck, i get a 40 percent off at mac but oh well.. at 15 bucks it’s no big loss, they really do have a unique quality to their colors, no one really has colors like they do… so random for a line thats not as well known as others.

I bought this in Sugar Pie, a berry-ish color. I’ve found that it wears off fairly quickly but then my lips look stained and I love the look. It’s creamy and doesn’t dry out my lips at all.

Dr Hauschka Lipstick in Legato(02): really happy with this lipstick. It’s that perfect red lipstick I’ve always wanted to find.
It is a glossy warm coppery red which looks great, but my newly discovered toned-down everyday way to wear it is to blot it to take the gloss off. It’s not drying and wears for a long time.
I just love it!

I have two of those – Shade 4 which is a deep warm red and 11, a plummy shade. The texture is creamy and long lasting – these are some of the most comfortable and mosturising lipsticks I have ever tried; they have a faint orange scent which I don’t find overwhelming. In the UK the price equals that of a NARS lipstick, so not cheap but well worth the money in terms of color payoff. lasting power and moisturising qualities. Would buy again!

This is my favorite lipstick of all time, and I’ll never wear another brand despite the limited color selection. The formula is moisturizing, long-lasting and smells a bit like roses. I now use three colors of the regular line: Amoroso (01), Fortissimo (07) and Dolce (09). Dolce is my everyday signature shade, Amoroso is for a quiet night out and Fortissimo is saved for nights out on the town. I have tested the lipsticks from the Novum line and am slightly intrigued, but those shades are frostier and that’s just not what I’m into as we head into the winter season.
