The online chat consultant from mac dot com recommended this liner to use with rebel lipstick. I questioned whether it would be too dark and she assured me ‘no’.
When I finally got this in the mail and put it on, it looks basically black on my lips. Definitely too dark to use with rebel, in my opinion, unless you like the look of a darker rimmed lip with the lighter lipstick overtop (i don’t).
I also found that the texture of this pencil isn’t like other mac lipliners. It was very…how do I say this…smushy? Iike it applied way too liberally and just made a horrible mess on my lips.
I really like mac lipliners in general and I’m sure this would work for someone who was looking for a darker lip liner, it just wasn’t what I was looking for.

what can I say about vino? probably myf avorite lipliner from mac just cuz i’ve repurchased it like 2 times. I pair it with almost every lipstick I have an it always manages to fit just right in my lip combination.
great color and a great long-lasting formula.

I think this lipliner is really expensive for what it is (-1 lippie for that), but I’m willing to pay it because of how well it works. I love this for my darker lipsticks (I really like pairing it with Diva and Hang Up lipsticks). It doesn’t bleed outside of my lipline and when I use it to fill in my lips before applying lipstick, it lasts forever…I always worry when wearing dark lipstick that it has disappeared, but I don’t have to worry when I use this liner.
I usually like my lipliners a bit creamier, but not for my darker lipsticks. I like that it’s a little bit more stiff (it doesn’t tug or pull though) because then I find it doesn’t feather or fade.
