I only have a handful of lip glosses so I decided to snap 3 of these up in Bold Pink, Clear and Natural. At the super-affordable price they are, it’s hard to resist! Each of these applies well with the sponge applicator and imparts a nice sheen to my lips. Before using I exfoliated with my Lush Bubblegum lip scrub and then without applying any lip balm as I normally would, I applied just 1 layer of this (Clear was my first choice). Clear, like the other two did not leave any hint of stickiness but still managed to give plenty of shine. Unfortunately as my lips are very slightly on the dark-pigmented side I didn’t find this one very flattering, it almost highlighted/magnified the issue. Quickly wiped this one off and then tried out the ‘Natural’. Now this shade is pretty much the in thing but again I’m just not so keen on it, I like my lips to have some color and to pop. This totally muted them. But again no biggie as I was half-expecting these two to be my least faves from the bunch. Bold Pink however more than made up for it…gorgeous, bright and complimented my skin tone really well. The only negative is that like most glosses staying power is just so-so with these, I got around 3 hours with Bold Pink, unfortunately didn’t leave the others on long enough to see how they fared. Also other than Clear which tasted neutral to me, I did get a slightly fruity taste from these, they also smell quite sweet, almost Vanilla or caramel but nothing overpowering though.
Bottom line: for 2 dollars each you simply cannot go wrong. Even if some don’t look so great on you there are others that very likely will. The lineup is limited to 5 shades but there’s something here for everyone. For highly-pigmented, decent quality, non-tacky lip glosses at this price these are hard to beat! Will probably try out Burgundy and Purple next.

This is a great cruelty-free, inexpensive no-frills clear lip gloss. It has no discernible scent or taste, and adds long-lasting moisture and sheen to lips, with a minimum of stickiness.
If you want a good standard “work-horse” clear gloss, this is a strong choice.

I’m not a huge lipgloss person but I really enjoyed this one. I received it as a free gift with purchase from the ELF website. It is pretty thick but feels very emollient and moisturizing on the lips and gives them a high gloss shine that lasts a really long time.

Not sure why this is so beloved by the elf fans. It’s basic, so-so, nothing amazing like their eyshadow primers. Low shine, wears off fast, meh.

This lipgloss is bomb!! I love extra shiny clear lipglosses. I did not have any RN so I decided I wanted this at Kroger, having raided the display a bit. I love elf. Elf is my fave brand they sell at Kroger (my fave DS brands are elf, wetnwild & la colors also all 3 are cruelty free &. v affordable). I wanted this lipgloss I didn’t check the price when I got it but I know it’s <$3 elf doesn’t have anything over $10 in our display. What happened go the $1 elf items ev1 loved? All $3 now. Don’t tell me inflation. This is so shiny it’s blinding i love it. It doesn’t have much of a taste/scent. This would be perf if you have a little girl who wants her first real lipgloss (I got my first real makeup item when I was 4!) & Parfums De Coeur 'Skin Musk' Women's 0.5-ounce Perfumed Oil or Alrehab Tooty Musk (I couldn’t find it listed) would be my first choices for a real perfume for a little lady. Anyways this takes me back to a simpler time. It’s a great lipgloss you could layer over the top of matte liquid lipstick. Or use if your lips are chapped it fixes chapped lips. I want the other colors. I will have to buy a back up. This lives in my purse. Super awesome. 5/5!!! Grade: A++

Brought this in burgundy. Love it. It not too brown and enough red to my liking. It stays fairly put and is not sticky. I brought two. It wear well for a elf product. I hate doe brushes but this one apply well with little efforts.

I have this in clear. The formula is great, shine without the stickiness that a lot of other glosses have. It smells and tastes like vanilla without being too strong. Definitely would repurchase and recommend.

I own this product in purple – I wouldn’t repurchase this shade again, but I would try others.
There are 2.6 ml of product in the tube (a bit less than some glosses). The applicator is a somewhat flexible, long paddle type applicator which works very nicely. It’s very glossy and shiny but only semi-sticky. This isn’t a horribly sticky product which I always appreciate. It is a bit sweet tasting but not as bad as ELF’s lipsticks which drive me crazy!
The purple has great pigmentation for a gloss – it does take a bit of work to even out so you don’t end up with areas that are more opaque than others. You can see a bit of shimmer in the tube if you look closely, but this is definitely a cream gloss when applied (which I prefer).
I bought it to try out a bright violet shade for cheap. I’m glad I didn’t spend more, because in some lighting this color really brings out the green in my skin (fair yellow/olive).
“Do I look like a frog in this?” I felt compelled to ask my daughter. Olive ladies – you’ll feel me on this one.
I honestly think that only a few people will be able to wear this purple shade convincingly.
I wouldn’t rebuy in purple, but I do like the formula and price, so I would try another shade. Four lippies for the potential of this formula and color saturation in other shades.

ETA again: Update – I ended up buying this in the natural and the purple and am going to get the bold pink and burgundy just to complete the cheap collection. These are – hands-down – a great gloss to have. The colored ones are SUPER pigmented (and glossy) and the clear is a great gloss that works with lipsticks or to just add shine (it’s super moisturizing, too). I think these are one of ELF’s most underhyped lip products out there – for TWO BUCKS.
———————————
I bought this in clear. I had read reviews online saying that these had a minty, sweet taste, but i can say thats not the case at all for the clear. These come in other colors, so perhaps they have a different tast (they do, the colored are sweet.)
I had to come back and update this to 4 lippies, because the taste/smell isn’t really as bad as the clear WnW Megagloss, but it’s not the best, either. However, the product is thick, almost gel-like and gives great shine and moisture to the lips. Very moisturizing. Great for a base for lipsticks but only if you apply with a light hand. Has doe foot applicator that is nice and longer than average- so if you apply with a heavy hand, you’ll have a wet sheen to lips.
I was bummed mostly because i was hoping it would have a nice, sweet taste to be a good go-to clear gloss for cheap, but I’ll take the vanilla scent and the great gloss. Wish elf would come out with more sweet balms like their lip exfoliators, but just for moisture, not exfoliation. It seems like they used to carry a ton more balms, now the ones they have don’t have great reviews. I will buy a second one of these, just so I can keep one at work, too. For $1, it’s worth it.
ETA: I ended up buying three in clear of these – to keep all around – and then bought the color “natural”. For $2, I recommend these mostly because they do come in other colors – and the “natural” shade looks identical to NYX Fortune Cookie – but $6 cheaper. I’m sure the other colors could be dupes for some NYX lipglosses! The “natural” is an amazing nude glossy lip; very close to what the Kardashians often wear. I love it.
