Simply love this product! Not usually a big fan of lip glosses, but this is more balmy in texture and doesn’t leave me feeling sticky. Moisturizing and gives a beautiful sheen with just a hint of colour. For me it is perfect for a ‘no-makeup-makeup look’.

I hate lip gloss, and am a lipstick girl. Even a sheer colour must be in the form of a stick to please me.
So, I don’t like the feel or look of gloss, but these are something else. A balm or treatment with a bit of tint. The brown-looking tube is my favourite, the others come out too “nude” on me. They are not sticky, meaning that stray hairs won’t get caught in it and it wears off evenly. I don’t know if I agree with the perfecting bit as they are so lightly tinted, but actually prefer using this to bed instead of my Clarins balm. Have noticed an improvement in skin quality on my lips, as well as a small but noticeable increase in volume, probably from them being properly hydrated.

I just started using this product in 04 and I was really surprised by how nice it feels on the lips. I don’t usually like shimmer whether it’s on my eyes or lips, I am more of a matte person so I was a little skeptical at first. However, when I first used it, it looked very natural and made your lips look healthier and soft and not remarkably glossy. It also smells really good so it is definitely a product that I will repurchase in the future.

Got Shade 06 as part of a Clarins Christmas gift set. A lovely product that makes the lips look like “a rosebud”. Shade is very “my lips but better” and the slight sheen gives a 3D effect. Packaging is a bit of a downer as the application point is like a small sponge so you can not apply directly to the lips without making it look like soggy weetbixes. However, it is a lovely product that really “perfects” the lips without the stickiness in traditional lip glosses.

I need to wear lip balm day and night and always have them scattered all over the house, car and at work. This is the best of them by far. 01 shade is a clear light pink and I miss this when I run out and switch to another brand. I’ve been using a version of Clarin’s lip balms for more than 20 years and they’re still the best on the market – a little pricey and I always try to make do with substitutes – but am disappointed and come back to this one and everything in the world is right again!!!

I purchased this in the shade 01. It is a pale pink which suits my fair to medium (NC20-25) skin tone.
For me, this product feels more like a treatment than a beautifying product. It is excellent for dry lips: it is a “quick-fix” solution for repairing cracked lips but in terms of how it looks, its pale colour and (in)ability to last makes it a fairly average product.
I’m also not a fan of the “fury” applicator. It feels nice and soft on the lips but I’m not sure if it’s hygienic. Also, product builds up around the base of the cap which is not nice to look at.
Overall, not bad, not good. I wouldn’t purchase it again.

I used to love lipglosses, but over time have really gone off the whole shiny-lipped, sticky feeling that they leave/give you. So, on a recent trawl around the internet looking for alternatives I was led to this product by way of some rave reviews on YouTube.
This really is a nice, soft, subtle lip product. It adds colour to your lips but doesn’t leave the sticky residue that regular lipglosses tend to. The Clarins sales clerk told me this is badged as a lip gel which still gives you the softness and plumpness of a lipgloss but without the ultra-shine and stickiness that some regular ones can. It comes in 6 very subtle shades – 01 rose shimmer, 02 apricot shimmer, 03 nude shimmer, 04 petal shimmer (the shade I have), 05 candy shimmer and 06 rosewood shimmer, all of which I would say are suitable for any skin tone.
The only downside to this product is the applicator. Rather than a standard wand, this comes in a squeezy tube with a foam applicator tip (which you can’t remove to clean), so after a while I found you do get a build up of product on the tip which can make it go a bit gunky and funky smelling. Washing it is easy, but I’ve also found that by doing this the softness of the foam is disminished slightly, meaning it’s not as soft when you next apply it to your lips. It’s also pretty expensive at 17.00GBP (which according to the Clarins website works out at 141.67GBP per 100ml!!), but if you’re looking for something that gives you subtle colour without the stickiness of lipgloss then I would recommend giving this a try.
