I don’t love these. I’d skip them and purchase the NYX Lip Butter Glosses if you want a pigmented, balm-y gloss. The Ulta version just doesn’t seem to melt into my lips. It instead fills into the lip lines and emphasizes them. :\ I feel like these do very little in terms of moisturizing. It’s a shame because the colors *are* really pretty.
I had bought a bunch and only opened 2… the rest (unopened) went to my sister in law for her to try out. Clearly I will not repurchase.

I was keen to try these as something that could potentially bridge the gap between lipstick, which I find a little bland at times, and lip gloss which I find uncomfortable to wear (sticky, tacky and doesn’t last). I’d seen pretty good reviews on the ‘net and after some research both online and in store, decided to go for the shades ‘Poppsy’ and ‘Luna’ which cost me $8.00 (around £4.50) each. At first glance these two shades look very similar in the tube. However, ‘Poppsy’ is a pink shade whereas ‘Luna’ is closer to a natural, very subtle coral shade.
These aren’t as drying on the lips as some lipsticks I have, and neither are they as sticky and tacky as some lipglosses I’ve tried in the past. Unfortunately though, they’ve still got that slimey, slippery, ‘fake’ feeling that a lot of lipglosses seem to have once they’re applied. I hate this feeling as it makes it feel like my lips aren’t my own and usually results in me wiping the product off as I can’t stand to wear it a minute longer!
The few times I did wear these, the lasting power wasn’t great; at most I’d say they both lasted no longer than an hour tops. They both have doe-foot applicators, which I found actually made it harder to get product out of the tube. I also found over time the colour inside both tubes started to separate, which no amount of shaking or failed attempts at stirring with the applicator could rectify.
Overall I’m glad I tried these, but since I got them about 6 months ago I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve reached for them. I still prefer my lipsticks over these, both for ease of application and lasting power, so on that basis I won’t be tempted to purchase any more of these in the future.
