My lips have been suffering from some pretty severe dryness lately that nothing in my arsenal would relieve. After reading reviews on this balm on Ulta’s site and elsewhere, I figured that even at $9, it might be worth a shot. Boy was it ever!
This stuff is pretty amazing. First off, yes, you are paying a lot, but you’re getting 7 grams of amazing product in sturdy packaging. So I can’t squawk about the price when I have paid $10 for balms that don’t do anything for my perpetually dry lips. I marked the price at two lippies because I don’t feel it’s all that expensive for a more specialty product.
Next, the formula is INCREDIBLE! It’s a little stiff, but sort of melts onto (and into) my lips during application, leaving an almost oil-in-gel texture behind that hydrates and protects.I find that it sticks around for a while and doesn’t need to be reapplied constantly throughout the day. This also adds to its cost-effectiveness since I don’t feel I’ll need to repurchase in a month. The finish is a little bit glossy, but not overly so.
The scent and taste is very sweet, like strawberry Quik. I really like it because I hate the taste of most flavorless balms. I do have to stop myself from licking my lips, but I really do like having the scent under my nose. For some, this might be a bit of a drawback, but if you don’t have any kind of sensitivity to that kind of thing, you might enjoy this balm.
I will definitely be trying the other varieties from this range.
