I had to buy this on line. I saw the rave reviews for it and was in need of a new lip balm. This is a good size for the money. Other than that I really didn’t care for the scent or how it made my lips feel drier.

This is my perfect lip balm. It has the perfect balance of emollients and waxes- not too greasy, not too hard. The scent is a light orange which is a natural and pleasant. As mentioned by other posters, this is larger than a standard lip balm and it is not tested on animals. I still love Burt’s Bees-Rhubarb for a tinted balm but this is great colorless one.

Got this as an impulse purchase at the health food store. I think it was on sale for $5. I was really surprised at how much I like it. It goes on in a nice, thin yet moisturizing layer with a faint, pleasing citrus taste. What I also like is that there is a lot of volume to this tube. I like that the surface area is about 20% more than your typical tube so it’s really comfortable applying – just one swipe top and bottom lip, no need to continue going around and around.
I apply balm morning, night, and under all lip cosmetic products. In doing so, I have tried a lot. I have just a few select favorites. This has become one of them. Would repurchase. The packaging is a little boring but I can live w it.

I’m kind of a lip balm junkie. I love trying out new ones but I’m rarely satisfied and end up buying more. I rarely buy the same lip balm twice. This is one I have bought a couple times. Other users have said it has kind of a grainy texture, which I agree with. It’s kind of annoying but considering the balm’s effectiveness, I can deal with it. The majority of lip balms just don’t seem to work for me. Even ones people rave about, like the round EOS balm, are just meh in my opinion. But this is so moisturizing! The main ingredient is coconut oil, which I’ve learned my lips just love. It’s harder than you might think to find a lip balm whose first ingredient is coconut oil, and even harder to find one that’s not coconut scented. I like the scent of coconut so that’s not a bad thing, but this one has a refreshing citrus-y scent that’s a nice change and not cloying at all. I also like the chunky size of this balm. The only downside is the graininess, and the fact that I’m seeing them at fewer and fewer Targets (and I have yet to see them at any other store). It’s not my HG lip balm, but I love the fresh scent and the real moisture I get from it, as opposed to temporary relief like most balms. I’m still on the hunt for my ideal balm, but for me to have used this entire tube up and even bought another one is high praise from me.

I was drawn to this Avalon lip balm, because it contains Vitamin C. Other Vitamin C facial care products have worked well for me. It is reasonably priced, all-natural, and organic. It has a lovely fresh citrus scent, and it’s coconut oil-based. I love the ingredients.
The tube is bigger in diameter than a normal lip balm. I’d consider it a “deluxe size.”
The only drawback is that it gets slightly gritty and a little softer than a lip balm should be. The result of this is that too much ends up on your lips with even one gentle application. The product isn’t greasy, but when you get too much of it, it does feel that way. It runs outside your lip line and feels very thick.
Aside from the consistency, I like the product. If I found another balm with Vitamin C, I’d definitely consider switching to a new brand.

I use two lip balms, one during the day (Burt’s Bees Medicated Lip Balm) and this one before I go to bed. It has no petroleum in it, with is great for me! I use it at night because it’s quite… thick and waxy feeling on the lips, like you can really feel it on your lips constantly. I’m doing a lousy job explaining this but the best I can come up with is that it doesn’t feel as natural as most lip balms (or at least my Burt’s Bees one) does. When I wake up in the morning I can STILL feel it on my lips and they are very moisturized. It does have an orange-y, citrus-y smell, but I don’t consider it a strong scent and it doesn’t linger on my lips. My Grandma brought me this, but I’ve seen some reviews saying it was about 5 dollars a tube, which is a bit expensive, but since I only use it once before bed, for me, it lasts a long time. All in all, I personally don’t mind the price, but for daily use, yes, I think it’s expensive, and if I can sleep all night and wake up with it still on my lips, my best guess is that you won’t need to reapply much, and it does feel quite waxy, almost like it DID have petroleum (but doesn’t!), faint, yet pleasant smell that doesn’t linger on my lips for long and finally, suuuuuper moisturizing, so if you are into that then I suppose it’s the product for you.

Abit expensive but its the only brand that has ever kept up with how severely dry my lips can get…I mean like actually ripping and peeling to the point of bleeding and well…this product cured that issue. Ever since I finished my first tube of this I’ve never had my original issue and would consider this lip balm one of my HG items. Texture wise I feel its more oily than waxy which I prefer and as an added bonus it makes my lipstick last longer.

This is the most expensive lip balm that I’ve ever purchased, at $4.99 a tube. It has a smooth texture. I didn’t experience the granular/gritty feeling that others had. It’s more on the waxy side than oily, but is extremely moisturizing.
I will not be repurchasing due to price. Any petrolatum-free brand, such as Chap-Ice, has a similar result for a lower price.

I can’t understand why more people wouldn’t buy this product again! It’s pretty much the best lip balm I’ve ever used. It has a very orange-y scent, just like fresh orange zest, which I like. It goes on smoothly with none of that weird grittiness of some other balms and it doesn’t feel sticky or oily.
Many other lip balms make my lips feel pleasantly moisturised, but this balm actually makes my lips feel softer and smoother even after the product isn’t on my lips anymore. I love this lip balm because it does what so many others don’t do, and as a vegan, I really value the fact that the balm is also cruelty-free, as well as being made of high quality natural ingredients.

I’m a big fan of Avalon Organics Vitamin C line, and had high hopes for this lip balm. I like that it’s larger (thicker) than a typical chapstick because I have big lips and the larger surface area ensures quicker application. It has a citrus-y, licorice-y scent – I wish it were more citrus-y, but this is a small quibble. Overall, I find that it’s moisturizing and unlike some natural lip balms (Alba Botanicals, for example), it doesn’t feel gritty or break apart upon application. I paid $0.99 for mine (on sale + $1 extrabuck), but it retails for $4.99 at CVS
