I had wanted the Tony Moly lip balm after seeing a couple youtubers that I trust rave about it. I think the one they talked about was Bbo Bbo, the shiny red one, and this is the matte red one (the packaging is red,not the actual lip balm).
It had been a while since I saw these youtubers talk about it, and when I was in Ulta, I finally just went ahead and got it. Those little displays near the register really do their trick sometimes! But I figured I had it in my online cart off and on sooooo many times, I figured I would just try it out..
Huge disappointment. First of all, this one, Kiss Kiss, has an old lady/floral/rose type of scent. And it is a strong scent. And the scent lingers for a good half hour after I apply it. I am not a fan of this scent, so it is a huge turn off for me. Plus I just do not want my lips to smell like flowers, sorry.
Package-wise, it is bulky. I personally can’t see this being something to carry in your purse unless you have a really large purse or you really love it a lot. Also, I am not a fan of the twist-off cap. Maybe they did this to be different or ‘special’ or something, but I just find it annoying. Thirdly, as for the packaging, I am not a fan of dipping my finger or a brush into a balm to apply it. I just want to pop open a lid and smooth a lip balm on, not all this fussing.
Performance-wise, there is nothing special about this. I’m sorry. But to me it does not perform any better than a 99-cent chapstick.
That all said, even if it had easier to use and more slim/sleek packaging, and felt great on the lips, I still would not like this due to the very strong floral/old lady smell. Not saying flowers equal old ladies, but..someone out there maybe knows what I mean. But I just cannot get past the smell. But even that aside, it just does not perform that well and is a pain to use.
Would not repurchase and would not recommend.
