I got this as a gift, the fact this is $28 before tax is ridiculous if it was under $15 I would def consider purchasing this. I also much prefer a squeeze tube or stick application rather than a pot b/c sanitation. Like others have said, it’s quite tacky but to me, this is probably the best thing about the balm because I found that the tackiness enhanced the staying power and effectiveness of this balm in comparison to other mineral oil rich products like Smith’s Rosebud Salve and vaseline.
I could apply this before a study session and it would stay on my lips for 4+ hours w/o needing to reapply despite me sipping my heaps of coffee/tea frequently and taking bites of snacks here and there. It stays well when I workout, as long keep my hair out of my face. It stays on well when I wear it to bed too and I don’t notice it move or migrate anytime I wear it. My lips feel well protected when I wear this even outside in nasty hot/cold/windy/rainy weather and that they stay supple after the balm wears off.
I really like the soft shimmer this leaves on the lips – it’s not glittery disco ball effect, instead it just makes you look like you applied a gloss. I feel more put together vs when I’m just wearing a standard clear balm. I think a minimalist who wants to reduce the number of lip products they own and lazy people like me who hate reapplying balms would enjoy this product. The Lip Slip is hit or miss when I put other lip products over it, some pair well with it while others don’t.
A little goes a long way, I’ll miss it when I use it up and when I do, I’m just going to stick to plain lip balm layered under smith’s/vaseline/cerave which are not as durable but get the job done of preventing and fixing chapped lips.

I bought this lip balm at Nordstrom on recommendation of a few of my favorite YouTubers. They claimed it was the best lip moisturizer ever; can be worn alone for a pretty pale lip, under lipsticks, or before bed for amazingly moisturized lips. I found it to be very sticky in application and not amazingly hydrating either. I will use it up because it isn’t a “bad” lip balm; I just found it to be pretty average and over-priced.

I use the scrub and lip balm and night cause of the balm being a thick sticky consistency and I wake up with really plumped hydrated lips. I use dermalogicas lip care at day since I think he sara happ balm is tp sticky for daytime use. But overall a nice nighttime treatment

The lid seemed glued shut even my husband had a hard time opening it. A friend recommended it because I love lip stuff. This is getting gifted to her. It is STICKY and that’s an automatic NO for me. I’ll stick to my no fail Blistex DCT. I will never buy again but reading her website does encourage me to pursue my own for women like me who like a subtle shine, moisture, less wrinkled lip…..but no sticky or tackiness

This is a decent lip balm with a subtle scent and provides OK moisturization. My problem is that it’s extremely goopy and smears everywhere. I can only use it at night because it ruins my foundation, and it’s impossible to wear lipstick once you’ve put this on. As a night treatment though it’s decent (though it doesn’t top Drunk Elephant Lippe, which is the best thing ever).

Have repurchased this multiple times. I prefer it over the Dior creme de rose, Bite’s agave mask, and Smiths rosebud salve. I use it nightly before bed and in the AM to condition before lipsticks (especially liquid ones). It’s also so pretty on its own for no-makeup days.

No offence to anyone here, but I really think this product isn’t really worth it. First of all, it has this magnificent rosy smell, which eventually turns into something that smells really rancid and odd after a while. Second of all, the consistency is really really REALLY thick, and it doesn’t really ‘hydrates’ my lips, but it kinda leave my lips greasy. However, i think that the colour and the shine that is given by this product is really nice. I would say that the shimmer from it is really pretty, but after all of that smell and consistency and packaging issue? No thank you.

I bought this based on reviews from Amazon (where I purchased) and it’s been the best thing for my lips. I bought it with the scrub because it came together as an anniversary type thing. I barely need to use the scrub because the lip slip keeps my lips perfectly moisturized! Now I can wear liquid lipsticks with no issues and I definitely recommend if you often wear drying lipsticks. It was kind of pricey but maybe because it came with the balm and scrub together. I’m not sure how much it costs by itself. It’s just in a pot type packaging, nothing special and not the most hygienic which is why only gave 3/5 for packaging. Don’t let that stop you from purchasing though, your lips will thank you!
Edit/update: After a few months, it just stopped working for me =( I’m not sure what happened, if it expired or it got contaminated. It did nothing for me when I applied and I feel like it started smelling weird.

I received my first container of this lip balm as a gift and I became totally hooked. I love everything about this product, the texture, the scent how well it moisturizes my lips and a little goes a long way. It’s pricey, but I use it at bedtime and one container last me almost a year so really a bargain when you break it down. If you wear it with lipstick you really only need a tiny bit it’s very rich and thick.

I was buying this on a regular in the small tub but after awhile I ventured off into trying new balms. Fast forward a few years later I rediscovered what is still a great product. I don’t use a lip scrub and instead resort to using a wet baby face cloth to exfoliate my lips. After going thru that process I immediately apply this balm and I’m good to go. If used at night I wake up with comfortable moisturized lips instead of tight and uncomfortable. It has a smidgen of a shimmer effect but it does not feel gritty on the lips at all. If desiring to wear this under lipstick….especially matte formulas….I highly advise a very tiny amount because this stuff is thick. Just enough to provide a little moisture. I definitely plan on repurchasing more in the future as it works just as well (if not better) than my beloved drugstore Lypsyl and runs circles around my super pricey LaMer Lip Balm.
