Was my favorite all-in-one lip product, but now they’ve reformulated this and it no longer has avobenzone for UVA protection (the ones that cause lip aging). I’ll have to go find something else-so upset because I loved this!!

I love how moisturizing these are, I have Tulip and the Ruby one. Super soft on the lips, opaque color pay off, plus leaves a stained tint behind when worn off. Plus it’s got a sweet scent to it. Love the metallic twist off packaging, I know this will never come off in my purse! Would buy more shades too!

I really like these. I really dislike how expensive they are! A lip balm should not be $25!
I received my first Fresh Sugar lip treatment as a birthday gift from Sephora years ago. It was like how a crack dealer gives a free sample to suck you into the drug habit. That’s how I was. I am always hunting for the perfect lip product, and this one was pretty close! When sephora has these as a free gift, I always make a purchase, just to get these.
I like the metal case, and the fact it screws closed, so it will never accidentally open while in my purse.
They are very low melting point, which is why they feel so good melting on your lips. It is bad though, since in your pocket, or in the summer, they will practically melt. The balm pellet becomes very soft, and can break off very easily. For this reason I only use these in the house.
This version is pinker than the Rose, and I like it better.

I really wish there was an ‘unsure’ option for the ‘would you buy again?’ question, because I honestly don’t know when it comes to this product. Some days I love it and some days I don’t.
The things I DO love about the Fresh Tulip lip treatment:
* The colour & pigmentation – it’s a juicy pink, very fresh and pretty and flattering. It actually shows up! It’s exactly what I want on a no-makeup or natural-makeup day. Just enough colour so I don’t look like a corpse.
* The scent and taste – very pleasant, exactly what I want in a balm
The things I DON”T love:
* The size of the bullet – my biggest issue with this product is that I can’t apply it without a mirror, which is what I want to be able to do with a lip balm. Since there is a bit of colour it’s easy for it to look messy because the bullet is really chubby and pushes the colour outside my lipline.
* Hydration level – I need more from a lip balm for me to use it as a treatment. This is okay, certainly not the worst, but not good enough considering the price.
So…short answer is I’m torn. I think I can find something better for the price, or I could chip in a little extra and get the Dior Lip Glow which I love.

Until recently, I did not understand why this tinted lip balm was so popular. I have twice received minis from Sephora (birthday or regular GWP) that I hated. The balm smelled like crayons and felt crumbly and gritty on my lips. Then I came across the Fresh Sugar Addiction Mini Lip Collection. My heart fluttered when I realized that the set contained the tints I most wanted to try: Tulip, Petal, Rose, and Berry.
I ignored my gut and ordered. After I received the set and squeed at the cuteness, it was immediately obvious that the Sephora minis had been the antithesis of FRESH. Every mini in the new Lip Collection felt like melting butter on my lips. No grit or waxy smell. And Tulip was everything I had hoped it would be and more: A medium-sheer, blue-based fuchsia pink. The color (2-3 swipes) lasted as long as a typical MAC Luster lipstick. I am so happy I went against my gut and ordered the set. I was even happier when I found out (from Fresh customer service) that Tulip is part of their permanent line. I love the color and LOVE how it feels on my lips, so if you are ever disappointed by the texture of a Fresh sample size, know that it’s probably old stock.
The only reason I am giving this item 3 lippies instead of 5 is because it is so SO heavily fragranced. Honestly, it makes me gag, and having that scent directly under my nose is far from ideal. The scent does not dissipate quickly, either. Even worse, after using *nothing* but Tulip on my lips for over a week (replacing my regular balm), I found that something (fragrance?) irritated my lips–the way balms with menthol/mint do. My love for this lip balm wore off very quickly, and I ended up throwing them away.

I have this in the mini version that came in the set they sell at Sephora. My experience with tinted lip balms is limited to mostly drugstore (aka Maybelline Baby Lips) and I can say that the extra bucks are worth it.
This is a brght hot pink and has the pigmentation of a sheer lipstick and very buildable. The sheen that it gives off helps make my lips look a bit fuller.
It feels very hydrating going on and the citrus/jojoba oil scent that lasts an hour or two, and I love that about it.
The texture is quite different. Baby Lips are slick (even slightly gritty in the case of the Crystal line). The Fresh lip treatments are slightly tacky when you press your lips together, but not as much as some lip glosses tend to be.
The staying power with the Fresh lip treatments are pretty decent. They will wear off when you eat/drink but the moisture stays even after the colour has worn off.
I would recommend this or any of the other tinted lip treatments as an indulgence.

I kind of wanted to hate this. I have literally been hemming and hawing about returning just on principle alone. I don’t really like the other “flavors” that much. But Tulip is gorg!
It applies a bright-ish midtone pink, almost fuschia. It definitely has a lot of color and I would go out on a limb here and classify it as a lipstick. Sheer, yes, but not THAT sheer. Texture is waxy-smooth and fairly long lasting for this type of product. Color will deposit on your lips, which is awesome. It looks beautiful, glowy, healthy, and dare I say it — expensive on the lips, and really brightens up the face. Packaging is lovely, too, but we all know that and we’re all paying for it! Haha. I do love the sugar-lemon smell and taste of these. I am not returning lol.
EDIT — this ended up drying my lips out, so I did return it 🙁

When it comes to the Fresh Sugar lip treatments you’ll see reviews on opposite ends of the spectrum, and I feel it’s totally because we all have very different expectations for a tinted lip balm. But let’s cut to the chase, shall we?
Pros:
Smells heavenly! Like lemon sugar!
Soft, non-waxy, color stays on the lips.
Lovely packaging- feels heavy and expansive, screw top prevents any mishaps in your handbag.
For the color tulip- lovely pink,equal in pigmentation to some sheer lipsticks,not too over-the-top but noticeable. Shows up on my pigmented lips.
Broadbased spf- prevents wrinkles from the sun and darkening.
Cons:
Expensive for a tinted lip balm (though reasonable for a sheer lipstick,go figure!)
Soft enough to break so screw a small amount above the top of the tube each time
Not very moisturizing (my most moisturizing lip product is kiehl’s lip gloss but sadly,that has been discontinued)..
Overall, I WILL repurchase as it has what I am looking for- UV protection and a lovely pigment equivalent to a pinky sheer lipstick..and I lurrve the scent!

I’ve received two of these–one as a Sephora sample (Rose) and the other as Fresh value set (Tulip). I’m not particularly impressed by these and wouldn’t pay full price since they are exorbitantly expensive. Both of these colors look really cheap on me and kind of 1980s. My daughter has clear Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment and it works better as either a primer or on its own.

(full disclosure) I’m a major fan of Sugar lip treatments already. (For some reason, they have yet to adopt my suggested slogan, “Sugar – We put the *treat* in lip treatment.”) Tulip is the latest shade, and Sephora claims Tulip is exclusive to them. Easy to explain this shade – a near perfect match to Victoria Secret Pink – so now you know whether it will work for you. That said, it’s in the “buildable color” category, so how intense it gets is up to you. It’s just so pretty that I can’t resist “building”. I bought the full size, and found no change in the luscious texture from the other five shades I own (Passion and Honey are my favs.) As with the rest of the line, nothing makes my lips feel better. I only wish it was less $$$. Highly recommended!
