My lips have been resistant to basically everything lately. They’re just incessantly dry and peeling, to the point where they’ve been sore. Enter this balm, which seems to be the only thing that has helped.
The texture is thick, and has a strange “sandy” kind of feeling to it, but it’s actually quite nice in that it sinks in really well, and lasts a good long time. When it finally does wear off, my lips don’t feel parched or in dire need of reapplication. I appreciate that it isn’t petrolatum-based, as that can cause MORE dryness in the long run. Instead, this balm is made of quality, natural ingredients.
The smell is faintly sweet, but not noticeable after a couple minutes, and there’s no flavor.
It’s also incredibly inexpensive, at $4 or less pretty much everywhere that I’ve looked.
My only gripe is the packaging, for which I removed one lippie from my overall rating. The formula is quite thick, and it just doesn’t work well in a squeeze tube like this. A pot would have been a better option, as the seam of the tube is susceptible to bursting pretty easily due to the amount of force needed to dispense the product. I haven’t had it happen yet, since I knead the tube and warm it in my hands before squeezing, but it still feels ridiculously difficult to get product out. So I’m hoping they address this at some point.
Packaging aside, I do enjoy this balm, and I’m thankful that something has helped my lips recover from being alligator skin!

Amazing balm for super dry lips! Waxy and occlusive, reminds me a lot of Paula’s Choice balm in the tub, but more sanitary.

Look, I was willing to overlook a lot with this lip balm, but I’ve had it for a week and a half and I just tried to squeeze some out and the seam on the bottom of the tube burst. Pro tip: if customers have to turn into the Hulk to squeeze out your lip balm because it’s so solid maybe put it in a container that won’t break in the process. Now I’ve just got lip balm splooged all over because it comes out the tear in the seam a lot better than it ever came out of the tip of the tube. Lovely.
The crazy thing is that this is actually a great lip product for dry lips – especially in winter – because it’s thick and moisturizing, but also a really great occlusive that forms a protective barrier over your lips. Objectively a great lip balm, but it’s ruined by the packaging.

I should have known that this product was not going to be that great based on how much I paid. I am always looking for new lip balms to try out, especially when my lips get dry. I picked this up at Target because it was so cheap and I paid less than $3 for it. It has some really awesome ingredients that I was excited about. Little did I know that this balm would be super THICK. It comes in a squeeze tube which can be great for thin lip balms. This stuff is so thick it requires me to literally squeeze product with both hands. It slowly comes out and when it is applied it is thick and really sticky. The product does keep my lips soft but I cannot for the life of me deal with this tube. In the trash it shall go, and next time i’ll look for an actually stick of lip balm and not a tube.
