I was very disappointed in this lip balm. I am a huge fan of all moisturising beauty products- be it lip balm, body creams, foot masks etc etc. I need that moisture every where. I love the creme de la mer balm but it’s getting so expensive in the uk that when I’d ran out I came across this one, at slightly cheaper so thought I would give it a go after the facial clinic I go to in London raves about this brand in general. Firstly it’s heavy and you only need a small amount. It’s thick and I can feel it on my lips uncomfortably. Looks like a high shine gloss. Not really for everyday for me as I prefer mat lip stains. So I’ve been using it at night. Nothing special, and there have been some mornings my lips have been peeling after using this. I don’t like the strong scent or the slight tingle feeling in my lips. With the creme de la mer lip balm you dong even know it’s on anc it’s a lot more effective. Im desperately pushing myself to finish this balm because of the outrageous cost, but quite honestly I’m almost half way into it and dread having to wait to use this up. If money was no issue , in an ideal world, I’d have binned this already.

Oh Lord! Innocent again but
not in the sense I’d like to be!
My girlfriend Isotta could not believe
I’d spent our hard-earned cash
on this, despite my saying I only wanted
softer lips for her benefit–she did not believe
me! and I was ‘forced’ to return it for a refund.
Suffice to say: Save your money!
it does zilch, so grateful for a wise,
and beautiful girlfriend. Chanel lip balm
does the job–does not leave lips
cracked or peeling.

I had really high hopes for this lip balm. I have really sensitive and chapped lips in the winter. After using this product for a month now, i can say that its not worth the hyped and the price tag. I hate that its in a pot, i can’t reapply unless my fingers are clean. On top of that, it doesn’t moisturize lip all day. I apply at 7am and by 5pm, my lips are chapped and dry. Funny thing is, my 99 cents carmax was able to keep my lips in good condition all day with just one application in the morning. I say for $40, not worth it.

Packaging: the pot comes in a fancy little cardboard box. It’s a mat plastic jar with a white lid with the omorovicza logo on it. It’s nice but doesn’t deliver on that luxury feel you get at first. I think for 39 euro (10ml-0.35 fl oz) they can give a glass jar (like Nuxe reve de miel). The By Terry Baume de Rose comes in a similar package but although it’s also plastic it feels heavier and colder (keeps the balm from melting too quickly).
Price wise it’s in the same line as other high end lip balms such as: By Terry, La Mer, Sisley.
The colour is peachy rose and has that old school rose smell that isn’t too strong and once on the lips you don’t smell a thing. On the lips it looks like a gloss. I couldn’t use a lipstick on top of it, you have to dab it off and then apply whatever you want but I find it beautiful as it is so when I use it I just leave it like that (plus I feel bad to rub of something that expensive).
Consistency: very creamy and thick (resembles the consistency of the Sisley balm) it’s more one of those balms that stays on the lips and isn’t absorbed so it creates a protective layer but not from within. When applied you get a tingling refreshing sensation, that’s the eucalyptus, this sensation lasts a few hours. The taste of it (if you get it in your mouth or bite your lips like me) is very sweet.
It wasn’t a miracle product for my chapped lips, it keeps them nice when they’re already in good condition but the healing will take some time with this one. With my rosebud salve when I apply it at night the next day my lips are healed, not with this one.
Is it worth it? Depends on how you feel about it, imo it does exactly the same thing other lip balms a 10th of the price would do. So it’s not necessary it’s more one of those pleasure buys when you want to treat yourself.
In Europe Omorovicza ships for free, you get it in less than a week and you also get 3 free samples. I bought it with a discount code and forgot to apply the code but after an e-mail to their customers service I could replace my order using the discount. They really have one of the most amazing customers services ever and when asked I even got a sample send to me without even ordering something.
