I’m pleasantly surprised to say…I actually really like this! I didn’t think the results would be in line with the high price tag but I’m happy to be proven wrong! This is basically a very nourishing stick lip balm, pretty much like a chap stick, although it is weirdly designed almost like something you would use on a larger surface area than your lips. The chunkiest lip balm I’ve ever seen for sure! Despite that it goes on fine and here’s where things get good…it’s oil-rich (Coconut, Cranberry, Avocado etc) plus soothing stuff like Licorice, emollient Shea butter, antioxidants Vit C and E etc. Overall you want some good ingredients on your lips? It’s all right here! The texture is completely non-tacky and this hydrates really well. I apply on a night and by the morning it is actually still on my lips. Whatever I then proceed to apply during the day goes on much better, especially if it’s a matte lipstick i.e no more settling into chapped lips. On top of that it’s fragrance free and literally everything-free, no bad stuff in here whatsoever. For reference I only use this once every 24 hours and don’t find the need to reapply. For those with a more severe lip dehydration problem every AM and PM application would be a safe bet, but definitely not one of those you have to keep reapplying throughout the day.

I am a lip balm junkie. I have a few from Fresh that I like (sugar, caramel, advanced therapy). I have used Young Living, Mary Kay, Origins, Nuxe, MAC, Burt’s Bees, Clarins, Dior, Dr Hauschka, Aveda, Bobbi Brown, and more I can’t even recall. I like this one. It’s a thinner more slippery texture. I usually apply it at night. I think it feels nice and works well for me. Not drying. It’s not thick, so if you want that go for Nuxe.

I’m surprised there’s not more reviews thus far. As I write this, I’m the 14th reviewer for it.
Anyways – don’t bother with this product. You’re better off applying vitamin c serum to your lips followed by a SPF lip balm.
My biggest issue is this doesn’t really adhere to the lips. A lot of lippies further dry my lips out…and this is one of them. It’s a little greasy yet doesn’t hydrate *my* lips. The beneficial ingredients are so minimal you won’t be getting any miracle results. IIRC peptides make skin more photosensitive, so why the hell would Drunk Elephant throw it into a lip balm lacking SPF? If the lack of moisture wasn’t a deal breaker, this sure is.
Yes it’s expensive. If it got the job done I wouldn’t mind. But this is garbage.

This is the only balm that has helped my super dry, flaky lips. It also has a plumping effect on me. It’s great during the day, and it stays on all night if you put some on before bed. Neutral scent/taste as well. I will definitely buy this again.

This dried my lips straight off after 5 minutes. Every time I try to use it my lips peel off almost right away. I would risk saying that this is the worst lip balm I have ever tried (and I tried a LOT). Going back to my Clinique Repairwear lip balm (which is also expensive but at least very moisturising and makes my lips feel super soft)

I’ve tried quite a few DE products so far (with positive results) and as a total lip balm junkie I was so excited to use this! Unfortunately, this was a disappointment. The balm itself is average, maybe a little better than average – it is smooth and feels good on the lips, goes on with no tugging or effort, and really doesn’t have much taste/scent at all. However, it also doesn’t last that long: it doesn’t last overnight, and even during the day I am constantly reapplying, even if I haven’t been drinking/eating. I also don’t feel the packaging is as sturdy as many balms. Overall, it’s pretty ho hum, but when you consider the price it is a total fail. If you’re looking for a better balm at this price point, I’d suggest Bite Beauty’s agave balm.

Really disappointed in this. I don’t find this all that moisturizing. It doesn’t last all night for me, and I wake up with dry lips. I hate the extra large container and that the screw up devise doesn’t stay screwed up for the time for me to apply to my lips. For this price this balm should sing me to sleep.

I really enjoyed using this chubby little lip balm, but I burned through my tube SO quickly and don’t think it’s worth it for the quality and amount of product you get. It also errs a bit on the oily side and got melty if I carried it around with me in my purse so it ended up being the lip product that sat on my desk next to my computer. The squat little tube was perfect for that, but I probably won’t repurchase.
You’re cute, Lippe, I’ll give you that. But at the end of the day, that’s not enough. Especially for something as mission critical as lip balm.

This is a great lip balm. It is very moisturizing and leaves my lips feeling very soft. I like that this is fragrance free. I use this every night before bed. A little bit goes a long way. The container size is a little large but this is okay for me because it covers the entire lip area.

I’m astonished at the negative reviews on this! First of all, the amount of lip balm is the same as any other lip balm (.13oz) if you look at the amount… it just happens to be in a shorter, fatter tube. Secondly, this is one of the few lip balms that keeps my lips hydrated for hours. If I put this on before bed, I wake up and still feel it. If I put it on during the day (I actually wear SPF 20 or more on my lips during the day however), I will feel it until I eat. It’s non-irritating and smells like melons to me. It lives up to its claims of being plumping, and without a drop of added perfume or dreaded mint or cinnamon (which causes horrible dermatitis flare ups around my mouth). If you get eczema on the face, this is wonderful on those spots too. I’ve even used around the eyes without irritation to help ease eczema patches there. This entire line has been a blessing to my skin. Between DE and Paula’s Choice, most of my skincare woes are put to rest.
