I’m certain I’ve had my Blistex Lip Massage well over a year, but it’s only recently I began wearing it & then learned how great it is during the winter months. The application is kind of cool & attention-grabbing; the grooves & lines I see on the tip are great for chapped lips. This lip protectant/sunscreen surprised me with the amount of SPF—15. I am also loving the smell & taste. It’s smells really sweet & has its own light, pleasant taste when I lick my lips. Balm, in the way squeeze tubes look, comes out of a small hole in the rubber lip… the actual product isn’t exposed. They did a good job with making the balm thick enough to moisturize for several hours yet easy & smooth to apply if I’m wanting to put this on without access to a mirror.
The massage tip has 4 wavy, slightly raised grooves or lines like I mentioned. I call it a “weak exfoliator” because it removes the slightly dry & dead skin on my lips, but not much else. It is a gentle way to scrub or buff lips quickly & painlessly, but it probably isn’t too effective on severely dry or chapped lips. I personally use it to protect my lips & keep them looking healthy before I go outdoors/into the cold air. It lasts a few hours & moisturizes really well while looking natural.
Note: I read a review that mentioned running out of the product in 2 weeks; that’s probably because its size is just misleading. Most lip balms in a lipstick-style tube have .16 oz. of product. This tube is the same size as that, but it’s only holding .13 oz. of product. That doesn’t sound like a big difference, but If you hold it up to a similar product, its really about ¼ less than normal you’re getting in here.

My go-to lip balm for the early winter months.
My mom gave a brand new tube for me when she was going under chemotherepy for cancer. I desperately needed a new lip balm at the time, so I decided to give this a go.
Packaging~ The packaging is a really pretty blue, with tiny matching sparkles. There is a rubber, curved doe-foot applicator inside, with squiggly lines across the surface.
Although I read that some people hate the rubber applicator, which is supposed to be the “massage” part, I actually like it. I can use it to exfoliate any dead skin cellls hanging off my mouth (gross, I know). I just rub the applicator in tiny circular motions, and it sloughs away the dead skin. It also increases the blood flow in my lips, which can give a slight plumping affect. Some people may hate that, some people will like it. Honestly, it doesn’t really plump up my already full lips.
Texture/Finish~ When I tried it on, I was a bit surprised. The product was thick and balmy, and gives my lips a matte finish. It doesn’t dry it out, or make my lips peel (which some chapsticks do anyways, UGH.) .
Staying Power~ The product stays on for a decent three hours before I reapply, unless i eat /drink something.
The scent~ huh. Its hard to describe. It doesn’t smell horrible; its actually not bad, but i don’t care for it.
Result~ smooth, supple lips. The applicator really helps.
Would I repurchase? Yes. Keeps the wind from chapping my lips again.

LOVE this product! I really like that It gives my lips that natural shine. And the moisture is very longlasing. I applied this on before going out and my lips stayed moisterizied the entire time! 10/10!! Love it!
But the whole “massage” thing is pointless. Doesn’t work.

I’m loving various Blistex balms right now and many I have liked for years. I have a med condition that kills moisture glands and so must always have balm with me at all times, wear it all the time too. My lips get chapped and on the verge of spliting in no time.I need to exfoliate my lips to insure product can heal them. I love the idea here and loved the nubby applicator. I wish it came alone to pop on other Blistex balms. I just did not particularly care for the balm itself.

The formula is clear and thick so it doesn’t give me that tint of pink that I would normally like. Product doesn’t look so great on my lips either. I find the massage tip pretty neat, however it does absolutely nothing for my chapped, peeled lips…doesn’t feel massaging either. Pretty pointless. I don’t hate this product, nor do I like it…I would buy it again because it smells fantastic! So sweet! (:

The “lip massage” thing in the cap is just adorable! I really like it. But the cream itself is a bit too waxy for me, and my lips do not respond well to thick waxy lip creams, so it dries out my lips really fast, which was not the goal of the product I think. And I think it contains parabens and other chemical ingredients. So, I keep it because of the packaging, but I rarely use it.

Don’t really know what I was expecting of this but it STINGS my lips badly. Makes me just want to rub the stuff straight off. I find it really gloopy with a very sweet taste. Massage tip does nothing for my flaky lips. Apply at night and wake up with my lips shedding like mad and probably worse than before. Only positive thing i’ve seen from this is that it does last until morning although i’m left with a gross skin/gloop mess on my lips on waking, nice. I’ll probably just keep this around until I get another SPF lip balm.

I was looking for a lip exfoliator for a long time. Oriflame had a great one few years ago, but it was limited edition and I couldn’t find it again. I dislake those in tubes, because I find it annoying to press your finger and move it left/right for 2-3 minutes. This one isn’t quite the great replacement, but it’s a goodthing. Applicator does the job of massaging and slightly exfoliating lips, and the lipbalm itself is nice – light and with minty taste and cooling effect.

I love this stuff. It’s cooling and refreshing on my lips. It leaves them moisturized and doesn’t make my lips feel waxy. My lips are hydrated for hours. I love the way the slanted rubber tip feels against my lips. It does get rid of some dry spots and makes my lips look fresh and flake free (I live in a VERY dry climate). I quite like the smell and taste, very sweet.

the flavor of this product is disgusting. so artificial and candy flavored. The rubber tip actually works on my lips but I will never buy it again because of the taste. Bleecch!
