I bought this in a trio set at Target for $5 on a whim.
Bare Kiss – semisheer terracotta rose
XO Red – semisheer neutral red
Berry Sweet – semisheer plum
I was expecting tinted balms, with just sheer color, and these provide a surprising level of coverage – more like a semi-sheer lipstick with one swipe. It’s not a bad thing, just not what I was expecting. YMMV. I definitely like these better when I think of them as lipsticks rather than balms. They feel more like lipstick than moisturizing balms, but I don’t find them hard or drying. The shade names are listed on the box but not on the individual units; this may be trivial in the grand scheme of things, but it still bugs me. Each unit has a clear, colored snap on lid that represents the shade of the product (if you’re too lazy to look into the tube?), so at least I can tell which is which.

This has to have more pigment in it than all of the other tinted lip balms I have tried combined! I own this product in Flirt & Perky Pink and Berry Sweet and love them both. The pink one is a bright bubblegum pink that’s so much fun to wear with my light olive complexion somehow. (Usually wearing pink is a struggle for me.) The berry shade goes on more like a deep cranberry red and has quite a bit of staying power. They both do in fact. I found mine at Walmart and Target, respectively. I have noticed that they are no longer available on the E.L.F. Cosmetics website. Both of my stores locally had a great stock of shades though. This lip balm does have a bit of a minty scent and tingle, but it’s nothing cloying or irritating to the lips. I’d love to try more shades in the future!

Wow. Maybe I got an updated product from this line, but I grabbed Bare Kiss at my local Target – and looked at swatches online to be sure – mine is nothing like what others have experienced. The first time I applied it – it went on easily, just like any stick balm (just like the Nivea blue one that looks similar in shape and style – which I have and wear daily) – and the COLOR. I was expecting this to be sheer since that’s what everyone has been saying – but mine is DARK (on my lips, it’s like MLBB and peachier). It’s super soft, too – straight out of the balm I can swatch this on my hand and it’s dark and soft like butter. Maybe they reformulated it? (I added a photo to show – it’s DARK.)
Either way – this stuff is pigmented and with one swipe, my lips are completely covered in color. Bare Kiss is more peachy brown nude and much darker and pigmented than I thought. I’m actually a bit sad that it has such strong pigment – I wanted more of a neutral tint balm (like Revlon’s ColorBurst lip butters) – these are like lipstick. Even when swatching you wouldn’t even know this is balm. It looks identical to a lipstick swatch.
One note: they are a bit drying. Not the most moisturizing, but since I consider this more of a lip color than balm, I don’t mind.

This is my ideal lip balm – long-lasting, slightly pigmented and minty. Reading some of the other reviews, I wonder if it’s just one of those products that isn’t suitable for everyone (i.e. body chemistry, skin tone, etc)
I bought the one in Spice and it’s a wonderful MLBB on my Latina-like complexion (I’m Indian, but constantly get mistaken for Latin American). I’m definitely gonna stalk up on these, because they’re great and also affordable enough to keep one in every purse!

I tried this in the shade Bare Kiss, which true to its name is barely visible on my lips. It tastes and smells strongly of toothpasty spearmint, and it dried out my lips. It’s a bad value even at the cheap price.

I have this in the color Bare Kiss, which is a nicely pigmented peachy nude with a hint of glimmer. This color is a barely there nude which I really like. It has the texture and feel of a lip balm. This does dry out my lips.

I’d call these a sheer lipstick rather than a lightly tinted balm. It might be intense for some, but it’s good for me and lasts a long time. I like the price and how it snaps shut, so no worries that it will come open in a bag. You also get a lot of product.

I was looking for a sheer red balm, and my local Target had a few of these red ones in stock. All I can say is eeeeeeeek… holy pigmented lip balm :/. It goes on like a medium to even full coverage cherry red lipstick. Way too much pigment for me, I was looking for sheer, with a hint of color. The flavor and texture aren’t bad. Not too shiny, leaves a little bit of stain behind when it wears off. No spf, packaging is similar to Maybelline Baby Lips, and it costs $2. If you like a balm with more pigmentation, this might work for you. For me it was too much.

I really love these! The Smoochy Spice is a great MLBB shade on me. The minyy scent is great, and the color stays on for quite a while.

I received this in a natural glow kit in the shade smoochy spice. Minty, smoothing with the perfect kiss of colour. I’m going to buy a ton of these.
