This isn’t the best lip scrub in the world. After a couple of uses it just started crumbling/falling apart and doesn’t do that good of a job with getting off the dry skin off of my lips.Super waxy, hard to get off and there is very little grit making it very useless and annoying to use for my needs.
I will not be buying this again as I would rather buy something that’s a little more money but actually works.

ive always had dry lips and i tend to pick at them because of that, ive tried a lot of different lipbalms and moisturizers but none made a big enough difference for me to keep using. never tried any lip exfoliator because i never knew it was a thing lol i wasnt really into beauty when i was younger. then i noticed my drugstore had these but sadly only had Brown Sugar. however it works really well and made my lips so soft and takes off the dry skin nicely. it works best when you wet both the stick and your lips or heat up the stick by rubbing it on the back of your hand before applying to wet lips. it tastes really good but doesnt smell the best because it is just brown sugar. i always apply my eos lip balm after i use this because it helps with the dryness alot. its super easy to apply because you dont need to use your fingers unless you want to use your fingers to massage it into the skin and its shaped as a normal lipstick. its so cheap only $3 at the local drugstore and their website. definitely going to be using it a lot because it is a really amazing formula that doesnt irritate or dry out my lips more then they already are.

I love that this is a $3 lip exfoliater in bullet form. It does exactly what the high end lip exfoliators do, but without the mess of digging your finger into a tub of product and having to rub on your lips. My perspective is that of someone with normal lips/minimal “lip crust” (what I so eloquently call the dead dry skin on my lips)!
The grains of this scrub definitely feel bigger compared to others that have a more fine scrub; however, that isn’t a deal breaker to me. I could see how some people with more sensitive lips might not like it, but once the top layer of the product wears down a little the friction is satisfying for me!
Would I also use this solely as my lip moisturizer? Personally no, because I have other products I prefer to this that nourish my lips more. However, I really can’t reduce lippies from this rating because I purchased this solely for the purpose of exfoliating my lips (being insanely nourishing would have just been an additional perk). And even though I know you could use some sugar and coconut oil to save money/get the same effect – the convenience of having this for travel or in my bathroom for a quick scrub is 100% worth it at the price.

I bought this product after being prescribed Accutane and my lips have gone from normal to extremely parched. However, at no point during those 8 months did I feel this product did all that much for me. I bought it after I heard so many rave reviews but I have to say I think it’s just an okay product. Overall, I don’t feel like it provides any moisture and so the graininess just tugs at my lips and created more lifted up skin for a result not much better than the start. I think this is a decent product for those with normal to slightly dry lips (nothing miraculous) and would not recommend for those with extremely dry lips. I find the grains in the scrub to be a bit too coarse for me. The best way it works for me is to apply castor oil to my lips then go over it with the scrub. This gives a really nice result on my lips but unfortunately, it dissolves the product so you would go through it in no time.
That being said, for the price, it’s worth a try. The taste is really nice (like brown sugar) and the packaging is pretty convenient. If you need to exfoliate your lips on the go, this is an interesting product. Otherwise, some brown sugar with either a tiny bit of water or oil gives a much better result for less money and is a more natural alternative.

I decided to try this lip exfoliator after seeing the price tag, which was $3 for a single tube. When you first use it, the product is quite smooth and you have to work the top later off a bit in order to get to the exfoliants. The biggest con to this product is the uneven size and performance of some of the exfoliants. That being said, I did find it fairly gentle to use on my lips. The product packaging is slightly misleading in the sense that it looks like you can swipe it across your lips like a lipstick. I found it worked best by rubbing it on the lips in circular motions. Overall I think this is an excellent lip exfoliator. Another perk is that there are many scents for this product, of which I have tried rose and coconut. This product has worked out so well for me that I bought a second one the moment I realized I would run out of the first one. I will definitely buy another one when the newest one runs out of product.

Perfect for exfoliating dry lips! I got this in ‘Brown Sugar’…takes me about 20 seconds to use this, gently rubbing it over my lips and then removing with tissue. The first few times I used it I was probably too harsh (you have to apply with light to medium pressure). When I use this on a night I follow with a good lip balm such as Jack Black Intense Therapy or Nuxe Reve de Miel. It’s the same principle as when you use a manual exfoliator or AHA on your face and the products you apply after absorb a lot better, this is no different. Without a lip exfoliator I can apply all the balms I want but sometimes, especially in winter my lips will still be chapped by the morning, but by incorporating this into my routine that’s no longer the case. I also use it in the AM before applying a lip primer (current fave is Anastasia Beverly Hills) and the primer works infinitely better and creates an even smoother surface before applying lippie. Cost effective and hygienic packaging too, unlike many others where you have to dip your fingers in – which I don’t mind so much if it’s a face product, but for lips…? I’d rather not be taking any chances!

Pros: did what it was supposed to do (remove dead skin), had a pleasant smell and taste (to a degree)
cons: some exfoliating particles were too aggressive and not uniform, the packaging is misleading (it looks as if you can just swipe this on your lips and exfoliate as you swipe, but no. It’s way too thick, stiff and pasty to do such a thing.) I had to “pinch” a small chunk off and then rub it around my lips to exfoliate. So kind of defeats the purpose of it being in a lipstick form. If I have to pinch off a chunk, it might as well be in a little pot. But this thick pasty stuff in a pot wouldn’t be good. Lastly, the smell and taste can be too much after awhile. It lingers. Btw, I got mine in clear. I still have a tiny bit left, probably enough for one more exfoliation but I’m throwing it out because it’s starting to smell rancid, like an oil in it has gone bad.
Unfortunately, I have not been impressed by many of ELF’s products…I have a typical lipstick, their “moisturizing” formula in Romantic Rose, and two highlighting products (a cream highlighter palette and their new jelly highlighter in Bubbly), and their Aqua Beauty liquid eyeshadow in Brushed Copper (?). After I finish with those, I’m not repurchasing from ELF any longer. I’m just very underwhelmed with their products that I’ve tried, and I literally got what I paid for.

Rose – this lip exfoliator concealed as a tube of lipstick is easier to use than exfoliators packaged in a “pot”. No color was deposited on my lips. I plan to order other “colors” of product.
When first using exfoliator, I expected product to apply like lipstick with creamy texture. You need to rub gently against lips to break into hard core.
After several uses, I was pleased how product kept shape.
Lip exfoliator is easy to use and surprisingly exfoliates lips with little effort.

I love this! I have it in mint. It works great and tastes good too.

I was excited to use this exfoliating lip treatment. I am so disappointed. Last winter when my lips got really chapped I brought 2 tubes. It was the equivalent of using my fingers to peel the skin off. It’s very aggressive. I used it on dry lips, licked lips and moisturized with other products lips; still aggressive. Will not be repurchasing.

This is actually a really good product! During the dry seasons, when my lips are always chapped and have a burning sensation, I use this exfoliator before going to bed and then put some lip balm. When I wake up in the morning, my lips are smooth and calm, with no irritation.
