This is a thick, slick, and sticky lip gloss similar to MAC Lip Glasses, but without the shine. For a “Lip Oil” this is a fail. I prefer a thinner oil like Revlon Lip Glow lip oils, or the ELF lip oils. Actually dries out my lips, which is something my regular lip glosses, balms or oils don’t do. The fragrance is a mix of cherry vanilla cake (yummy) and floral perfume (yuk). The perfumey taste leaves an unpleasant bitter aftertaste, as if I accidentally got perfume in my mouth. Packaging is AWFUL. Mine leaked and made a sticky mess in my purse before I’d even used it. Even stored standing up in its own separate little cup it STILL leaks, making the outside of the tube a sticky mess. Even if I clean it every day after use, the next day its sticky again 🙁 Clarins should take note from Revlon, who invented leak-proof packaging to prevent their lip oils leaking – I’ve never had one leak in my bag.

I have this in the shade Red Berry
nc20 C1 20Beige Y225
Pros –
pillow-y big brush applicator,
coats the lips evenly,
red tint brightens the face without being overpowering,
nourishing,
looks so plump and juicy,
not sticky,
Cons-
has a cough syrup medicinal berry scent
expensive
the texture of this lip oil reminds me of Laniege Glowy Balm or Fenty Gloss Bomb. Its thick but not uncomfortable. Shiney but not sticky. It is a bit thicker feeling than Laneige and more long lasting than Fenty. It really grabs onto the lips and stays there without it becoming patchy or bunching up/fading in weird places. I have a huge problem with glosses and balms doing this so i really like this formula and shade. The red berry shade is perfect to add a little color to my face. I love the translucent red color that isnt too opaque and adds that watercolored tint of freshness. Like a hint of cherry popsicle stained lip. It doesnt “add” too much color to the lips but gives it a hint of somethin somethin in thin layers. I have pale non-pigmented lips so this does show up. If you have pigmented lips I think you will need more layers, but i can still see this to be beautiful no matter what. It makes the lips look so healthy. will repurchase even though i lowkey hate the smell of cough syrup medicine
Edit- I can’t stand the scent of this. It literally smells like cherry cough syrup and its so bitter and medicinal I had to return it. Dior lip oil is much better than this!!

OK, first of all this product is not an oil. It’s just a lip gloss. It’s not particularly sticky, but neither is it moisturising. I bought a travel pack with two mini glosses, one with a blue tint and one with gold glitters. The blue tint does nothing, actually, it’s just clear gloss. It appears to have some menthol that gives a slight tingly feeling – not good as that is an irritant. The gold flecks in the other gloss are ok, nice on top of a lipstick. I would not buy this product again since there are nicer glosses around.

I bought this in raspberry, and I really like the product. It’s a fairly long lasting, slippery gloss not really an oil which is fine with me. It’s fairly moisturizing and comfortable to wear. But I won’t repurchase because it is leaking. At this price point I expect to be able to carry this in my purse, I can’t even store this on it’s side without having a huge mess everywhere. Would not take the chance on another tube.

I am a user of Clarins products and I usually love them. However this is product is ridiculous in the sense that it’s NOT a lip oil, not even close. It’s just a glorified lip gloss that is not even less stick than an usual lip gloss. The packaging is very cute, but for the price it’s not worth it. I wont buy it again.

I used this at night as a lip mask treatment. I went through the whole tube, but realized that on nights I didn’t wear this – I didn’t miss it. However, I think this product would be better as a day time gloss for people.
Although labeled as an oil it doesn’t feel greasy on the lips and lasts a decent amount of time (if eating and drinking isn’t involved). The shine is nice, but this product is definitely more of a “seal” for products/moisturizing under it rather than nourishing.
All in all, not an amazing product and not a horrible product. Personally, I would not recommend paying over $20 for a lip gloss unless there are other benefits for your lips. Especially since there are so many drugstore products that do the same thing!

This lip oil is totally overhyped and overpriced. It’s too much fragrance, very sticky and made my lips very dry.

This lip oil is okay. It is tacky in texture, and gives a shine like lip glosses do. Plus, it is not particularly moisturizing or emollient like an oil should be. Any moisture it provides is short-lived. I am afraid this product is more of gimmick than anything else. The flavors/colors are pretty and the packing is beautiful, though.

These are the best lip oils that I have ever used. I’ve used probably by now all those “natural” brands’ lip care products like loccitane, origins, kiehls as well as more higher end like Dior’s and this is definitely the favorite one. It’s very thick but non-sticky, and what is most important it doesnt slip over the liplines, so it is very safe to wear even during the day time. My personal favorite ones are Honey and Mint. It’s very expensive but in my opinion DEFINITELY worth it considering that I use it day&night and 1 lasts around 4 months.

Now, I’m not a gloss person- at all. I have mid length, unruly hair that will stick to even remotely sticky lip product. So I avoid(ed) lip glosses for all costs. But recently I got tired of my usual matte lipsticks and borrowed this lip oil from my mom- glad I did!
While Clarins skincare products are very average, they have an incredibly underrated makeup range- every single product I used (blush, foundation, mascara, powder, brow pencil) I either loved or liked. This is another solid product.
Pros:
– it’s not super sticky
– feels quite comfortable on the lips
– color Red Berry leaves a nice rosy stain after it wears off
– non-drying formula
– beautiful packaging with convenient wand, super portable- perfect “stay in purse” lip product.
It wears off quickly, but it’s a lip oil, so I’m not expecting incredible staying power. Also, beware because it’s not moisturizing, as you may expect. Won’t replace good lip balm.
