I used these years ago and LOVED them, but stopped using them when they became somewhat difficult to find. But now, there’s this lovely used book shop in Charlotte, NC that carries the whole range and I’m so happy, because it’s reignited my love for these wonderful tinted balms.
I picked up the shade Tropical, which appears to be a dark berry shimmer in the tube, but translates to a luminous pink flush on the lips. I have been going for a very minimal makeup look lately – just mascara, a little blush, and this balm, and it really makes me look so fresh and awake. I’ve used other colors in the range – Coral (a lighter version of Tropical), and Sunset (a pretty, almost coppery shade that looks great when my skin is a touch more tan). I love them all, and now that I have access to every shade, I’ll be picking them up.
I love the formula. I’ve always found these to be very hydrating, and surprisingly long-lasting for such a silky balm. It really glides on the lips. The scent / taste is a sweet hibiscus (which my husband LOVES), and it’s not cloying or artificial-tasting. Even after the creaminess wears down, my lips still feel hydrated, and there’s a touch of shimmer left behind. Also, it’s got titanium dioxide, which can act as a sunblock.
The packaging is like a typical lip balm tube. (It used to be slimmer, but I actually prefer the bigger tube.) You get a little over 4 grams of product (4.4ml), which is about the same as a typical tube of balm, and slightly more than the average lipstick. You won’t get a precise lip line with this, but it’s just a tinted balm, so you won’t really need that kind of precision. However, sometimes the balm doesn’t want to retract, so I need to push it down with my finger, so one lippie off on packaging for that.
This seems to run for $5 across the board, which is a little more than I used to pay for it, but that was a while ago so a price increase was to be expected. I don’t mind, as it’s truly a fantastic product that I keep coming back to over and over. This baby stays in my Kavu bag or my pocket at all times. I’ll repurchase this shade and buy the other shades in the range. Anything that’s kept me coming back for this long will always stay in my HG list.
Also, Crazy Rumors is a vegan / cruelty-free brand, so bonus points for that!

Crazy Rumors Hibiskiss range are quite moisturizing and lasting. It’s organic and non-sticky lip colour is just awesome for it’s a cross between lip balms and lip colours.
The pigmentation might be a little light for those looking for strong colours but great for first timers.

I keep coming back to this liptint! Creamy, weightless, great scent/taste and lovely shades! My fav is Breeze. a cool rosegold type hue that flatters warm and cool toned skin. I wish this product was still available in the natural food stores! It is also great to know that it is made from natural ingredients!

I like this product a lot! I purchased it in Coral and found it moisturising and smooth. The colour is quite nice and pigmented but still quite sheer. The packaging does not contain much but will last quite a long time. I have has this for one day and the lipcolour part will not wind down and I have to push it down with my finger. Otherwise I cannot fault this product.

Big fan of the untinted Crazy Rumors balms; their natural flavorings are amazingly sophisticated and true to life, and the formula itself is so silky and deeply moisturizing.
I tried Hibiskiss in “Sunset,” a gorgeous and unusual warm, deep peach-rose frost that’s spectacular with my red hair. The scent is pretty, like fruity hibiscus tea, and the pigmentation is good. I like the slim stick, too, for easy application. One lippie off because this is fairly drying unless reapplied often. The benefit to that is that it feels almost weightless on lips, but to my mind a “tinted balm” should be softer and creamier.

This is a review of the HibisKiss Lip Colors in general, since I have three of the shades (Coral, Pearl, and Tropical). I thought I would love these because I’d heard such great things about Crazy Rumors Lip Balm, so I picked up a few during a 50% off sale. While the lip balm is HG, the HibisKiss Lip Colors disappointed me. All the HibiKiss Lip Colors have shimmer–more of a frost, actually–and it settles into the lines on my lips. They aren’t moisturizing the way the lip balm is, so the shimmer just highlights my dry lip flakes. I like the colors and the fact that sun blocking Titanium Dioxide is an ingredient, but I don’t plan to repurchase.
