Initially this goes on pretty sticky but it melts and really adheres to the lips after a couple of minutes. I’ve never tried a formula like this and I am very impressed. Its a nude color but it is clear on my lips. I love Rose scented everything so I do really enjoy this. I gotten the sample size from sephora and have been using it daily. It does not smell too strong and has a hint of sweetness to it. There is no taste which I prefer. I do not like Glossier Rose Balm dot Com and I do not like the Smiths Rose Salve. Both of these have a generic fake rose scent and I much prefer the scent to the Aerin. The only downsides are if you don’t like sticky then you won’t like this and this comes with a hefty price.
I like how it really coats and protects the lips and does not make them more dry. Id suggest trying a sample size and see if you want the larger because different people like different consitensy and formula when it comes to a gloss balm. This is thicker than Laneige Glossy Balm. It doesn’t have much slip and does not feel greasy at all. It feels like a protective layer and sort of like the Chanel Nourishing Lip Care in the pot. It can feel a bit uncomfortable for some. I don’t know if I’d purchase the full size because I don’t think its worth 30$
Pros-
Smells good
Nourishing
Cons-
Sticky
Thick
Expensive

I found this in Bamboo Rose for about $8 at a cosmetics outlet soooo THAT was a score. I’m not sure I would pay full price for this, but disregarding that, I really think this is an excellent product. The Bamboo Rose shade is sheer but definitely shows up on my pigmented lips. Packaging is a slim green tube that’s nice but not terribly remarkable. This feels thick and balmy on, not too sticky to me, but heavy in a nice way. It’s sticky like lanolin, not like a MAC lipglass if that makes sense. If you prefer thin, slippery balms you won’t like this. It is definitely moisturizing but I’d say its biggest pro is heavy-duty protection. It’s a lot like the Lanolips tinted balms (which I love) without the need to de-solidify them before applying…

This *is* a pricey lip balm, that is the only gripe I have.
I finally was able to track down the ingredients list. It’s hard to track down because, I think, if anyone knew what exactly was in this, they wouldn’t purchase it. I will post the ingredients below.
I am glad I couldn’t find the ingredients before purchasing because, despite what looks like an ineffective ingredients list, this is a very effective lip treatment, and honestly better than ones I’ve tried with a whole slew of oils, butters and antioxidants (Drunk elephant, Jack Black, others). The reason for this, I believe, is that it stays on your lips, unlike traditional waxy lip balms that melt down to an oily film. This feels like a creamy but tacky lipgloss. Because it isn’t melting right off your lips like an average lip balm, it has a chance to actually stay on your lips long enough to effectively condition them. Its thicker consistency also guarantees that there will actually be enough product on the lips to be effective.
It would appear that the only real “moisturizing” ingredients (I may be wrong about this) in this are meadowfoam seed oil and lecithin. I hope I am wrong about this, and that out of these many scientific looking ingredient names, there is some hidden mega conditioning agent to supplement what looks like the only two conditioning ingredients on the list.
I will say, though, that meadowfoam seed oil was a really good choice for this particular type of product. Meadowfoam Seed Oil is a waxy oil, similar to Jojoba. It’s rich texture makes it the perfect choice for salves, balms, and ointments. It aids in barrier formation, to lock in skin’s natural moisture to help prevent dryness and soften the skin. Really, if you think about it, you shouldn’t need 10 different butters and oils in your lip treatment for it to be effective. You should really only need one. The problem is formulating a product that keeps these ingredients on the skin long enough for them to be effective. For those complaining about the stickiness of this lip treatment, here is your answer to that.

This product is thick, sticky, sheer, and fragrant. I LOVE it. It is the only thing that has been able to keep my nasty, crumbly, dry, and cracking lips away from looking like something straight out of a horror movie. I have tried every chapstick, lip balm, oil, younameit, (I’ve even made my own with raw ingredients) and it hasn’t been able to last me nearly as long as this product does, and without irritation! My only gripe is that it is highly overpriced for the slim tube you get it in. Oh well. The price you pay for nice lips, I guess.
For those of you blessed with healthy, normal lips – you probably won’t find much use out of this product, as it is the way it is. However, in its defense, it IS called a lip conditioner, not a lip gloss or color. It works well at conditioning, that’s for sure.

Dang Sephora and their deluxe samples. I totally fell in love with this balm but not really up on the prospect of paying $28 for a full sized tube.
I love the soft pink packaging, the delicate rose scent, and the fact that this stuff clings to my lips and leaves them feeling totally moisturized. It’s great in bare lip days and before bed.
It is super sticky initially but not in a way that I feel is uncomfortable… not like that super sticky clear goopy gloss kind of sticky. It’s more like a balmy stick to your lips kind of moisture. And honestly for the price of this? I’m glad it does bc if something is gonna be that expensive it needs to stay on my lips for as long as possible. Plus I’ve noticed that after about 20 minutes the sticky aspect of this balm sort of disappears and it becomes like an insulating thick balm with serious lasting power.

I LOVE this product so much! I have have extremely dry lips year round, but especially in the winter. As soon as the winter season this year began, so did my search for a good lip balm. I got a deluxe sample of this stuff from Sephora and fell in LOVE. I do admit that it is fairly sticky, but I don’t mind that at all because of how well (and long) it hydrates my lips.

I hate this product is so polarizing. I thought it was pretty meh until I came down with a horrible infection. Raging fever, dehydration so on so forth. Once I started feeling well enough to notice I realized my lips were in horrible condition. Chapped, peeling, purple in spots, and painful whenever I ate or drank anything other than water. I didn’t think this would do much but my beloved Fresh balm was MIA so I crossed my fingers and gave it a go.
First thing I noticed was I would apply at night and could still feel it in the morning. Second thing was it actually seemed to be protecting my lips enough for them to heal. After a couple applications the pain was gone. After a couple more the peelies were well on their way to being gone. One lippie off though because I don’t see any way for this to wear well under lipsticks or glosses.

Update: I’m still sensitive/allergic to most lip balms. I have to wear this one nightly or my lips crack, no matter the time of year (we have whole-house humidifiers, too). I’ll keep buying this product forever.
Update: I recently became sensitive/allergic to most lip balms. Thankfully, not this one. I’ve re-purchased and will keep doing so.
I received a sample at the Aerin counter last year just for browsing, as did my daughter. At $28, we wanted to try before we buy. We are in love.
This is a heavy-duty lip conditioner for really parched lips. Stays on when my beloved Blistex wears off. Soothes and protects our lips, even on airplanes, even in the heat of a Los Angeles summer. Daughter is very sensitive to smells and tastes (she’s expecting); she says Aerin Rose lip conditioner doesn’t set off her nausea. I find it mild and quite pleasant.
We’ve repurchased since receiving those samples. Don’t expect color– this is a lip conditioner, not a tinted gloss. A little dab goes a long way. I expect my tube to last about a year.

I echo the sentiments of other reviewers in that this is sticky, thick and doesn’t impart much color (but I’m not sure that it is supposed to be colored even though the shade I have is called 01 Nude). Love the delicate rose scent.
Here though is where I disagree with the bad reviews. My lips are chronically dry. They peel all day every day. They crack and bleed. And that is even when I do use balms and treatments. Sure, things are great for 30 minutes or so, but as soon as those products wear off I am back at square one with my dry lips. It gets so embarrassing when you are talking to someone and they are staring at your lips instead of your eyes. Anyway, this balm really worked to moisturize and intensively condition my lips. The stickiness and thickness of this made it stay on my lips and not evaporate or wear off, which in turn made my lips stay softer and well moisturized for so much longer than a regular lip balm. Because my lips are dry, they get areas of hard skin which not only looks bad but feels rough when eating or just pressing my lips together. Within a few minutes of applying this Lip Conditioner my lips looked and felt much better than they have felt since I was a child.
I bought a sample size from eBay for $5.00 rather than buy the full size, just to see if I would like it. I do think this is overpriced at $28.00 for a full sized tube but I won’t hesitate to buy this again. I actually went and bought the full size tube after a week or trying the sample size and I don’t regret it.

Wow, I can’t believe this got such bad reviews here! Overall, I really like this. Yes, it is a little pricey, and yes, it does not have the best ingredients. Ok, that I can agree with. The texture though, wow! I really like it. It is pale pink tinted when you squeeze it out, when you put it on it is pretty sheer, almost clear. You really only need a tiny bit, a little goes a long way! I just squeeze out a little pink pearl and I dab/pat this into my lips. It is very comforting and rich! I don’t think it is sticky, I just think it has a richer texture. I’d say it is not terribly glossy/shiny. My lips feel very moisturized after having this on! I think it makes an excellent base for lipstick, as it lasts for a long time. The scent is wonderful, very very light rose. It is not overwhelming. I think this is going to be a staple in my bag. And I have tried many, many lip balms!
