I was happy to get it in one of my subscription boxes (I don’t know which one anymore) because my lips are gross dry all winter. The feel is fine, it’s thick enough not to just slide off immediately unlike some other formulas, but it’s not so thick that it just tugs like an old Chapstick. I get a nice flush that if I threw a gloss over would be pretty, though not look like a lipstick. But I agree with the other reviewer that the smell, possibly of the Cupuaçu Butter, is like bad crayons, but bad ones. I don’t want to encourage anyone. I know Demeter sells a crayon perfume because it’s a happy smell for some, this isn’t that nice, fresh new box of pointy Crayola-not-Rose-Art-or-label-less-stubs-at-you-cousin’s-house-smell. It’s nasty. I came here to read other reviews to see if mine was rancid or if this was normal. Either way, I can’t finish it.

got this as a Birchbox sample and I would not purchase full size. I thought it was overpriced for even a premium lip balm and the tint is too matte and too warm for my complexion. It says pink but on me it reads more peachy-pink. I like that it’s unscented, doesn’t irritate and isn’t sticky at all, but I could spend a lot less at any health food store or drug store and get something just as good for a fraction of the price.

I got the “‘Adesse New York’ high definition liquid lipstick” (shade name???). It tastes like minty cupcake I guess that’s their scent de rigeur I find it yummy & the color is my perf MLBB!! I don’t know how much this costs bcoz I got it in my April 2018 boxycharm plenty I’m sure but I won’t replace this if I finish it who am I kidding—I’ll lose it first bcoz when did I last finish a lippie bahaha but this is a Dang fine lipstick & im glad to add it to my stash! #winner

… I don’t know about this one… Is it just me? This lip balm arrived in my April Ipsy bag, and I was so excited at first. It has tons of five-star reviews on their website (ok, fine, those could be fake), and ranks four stars on Amazon, as of this typing anyway. But, it’s just not doing it for me. To be fair, I have ridiculously parched lips, so I’m always looking for a new lip balm to try. This one has the trendy “Cupuaçu Butter” in it, “derived from the Rain Forest and prized for its rich content of phytosterols that heal, hydrate and combat free radicals. Cupuaçu Butter is capable of attracting up to 240% more water so lips are supple, plump and oh-so-kissable.” (Or, so they say.) They self-describe the scent/taste as “buttery ginger mint.” So, I really wanted to like it!
But for me, the smell reminded me of… y’know when you open a fresh box of crayons? Yeah, that kinda chemical-ish, waxy scent. It does seem hydrating, but it just kinda glides on to my lips, and never really penetrates the surface. So, I end up reapplying over and over throughout the day. I’ll finish the tube, since it does feel moisturizing on first application, and I hate wasting stuff, but I wouldn’t spend $24 on it. (Sorry, Adesse New York!)
