I enjoy this item. It works flawlessly, a small amount really plumps the lips up and also removes all indications of dryness. Excellent for moisturizing before using lipstick, or over lipstick that’s getting completely dry. It is to my eternal dissatisfaction as well as discouragement that it has actually been out of supply for over a year and also the business simply claims they don’t recognize when it’s returning. That’s the worst thing about this item, I can not get more.

I rather like it. Takes some obtaining utilized to, however absolutely leaves lips really feeling extra hydrated. Mindful you don’t mistakenly squish television. This can trigger a lot to come out when you open it.

I can’t believe the reduced reviews here! This is the only lipbalm that I have actually located really does something until now and also is still in the reasonably valued category (I’m denying the overpriced crap at Sephora despite just how well it functions). I have both the baobab one as well as the rio one. I have rather dry lips normally, and also with a lot of lines on them:-LRB-.
PROS: This in fact makes the skin on my lips grow. I understand it seems unusual, yet I discover myself needing to wipe/bite my lips off greater than the typical individual due to the fact that things adheres to them or it’s just dry skin. However numerous times after using this lipbalm, I mosted likely to do that and understood that’s new skin on there and to not interrupt it. Blistex, chapstick, EOS, whatever … most of conveniently available lip items simply layer my lips and also don’t really do this.I do not understand, this feels like a “much healthier” item I like the the value you get with it in regards to the amount (0.5 oz) and also the active ingredients not simply being average waxes or hard plant oils. This regretfully doesn’t do anything for the lines in my lips though.
DISADVANTAGES: Do not actually like the shininess of it, as well as the product packaging type of sucks. Allows beginning with the basics – if you totally remove the seal rather than simply piercing it, you’re gon na be squandering product EACH TIME. It’s simply unavoidable. The opening is a bit too big AND ALSO it is not easy to put excess product back in. The first tube I had created a cut in it somehow so I needed to be actual mindful with it so it wouldn’t broaden and leakage lipbalm. Before buying this, ask on your own if you have a tiny jar to bring with you, due to the fact that you’re going to need it. The baobab one might too be unflavored as it has a very neutral, moderate preference as well as aroma. The guava one … Well, it sure is guava, yet it likewise reminds me of vacation candle lights, a scorched odor integrated with wonderful, as well as the Christmas Tree Shops. It’s way too much. The real flavor/scent isn’t solid, however it’s somehow extremely associative.
I’ll offer this a 3 due to the fact that I assume it functions far better than most lipbalms and if you’re already making a DECIEM haul it’s not an expensive or inefficient item, yet I’m taking off one point for the packaging.

I love this product. It works perfectly, a small amount really plumps the lips up and removes all signs of dryness. Excellent for moisturizing before applying lipstick, or over lipstick that’s getting dry. It is to my eternal disappointment and dismay that it has been out of stock for over a year and the company just says they don’t know when it’s coming back. That’s the worst thing about this product, I can’t get more..

I quite like it. Takes some getting used to, but definitely leaves lips feeling more moisturized. Careful you don’t accidentally squish the tube. This can cause a bunch to come out when you open it.

I can’t believe the low reviews here! This is the only lipbalm that I’ve found actually does something so far and is still in the reasonably priced category (I’m not buying the overpriced shit at Sephora no matter how well it works). I have both the baobab one and the rio one. I have somewhat dry lips naturally, and with a lot of lines on them 🙁
PROS: This actually makes the skin on my lips grow. I know it sounds weird, but I find myself needing to wipe/bite my lips off more than the average person because things sticks to them or it’s just dry skin. But several times after using this lipbalm, I went to do that and realized that’s new skin on there and to not disturb it. Blistex, chapstick, EOS, whatever… the majority of easily accessible lip products just coat my lips and don’t really do this.I don’t know, this feels like a “healthier” product I like the the value you get with it in regards to the amount (0.5oz) and the ingredients not just being run of the mill waxes or hardened plant oils. This sadly doesn’t do anything for the lines in my lips though.
CONS: Don’t really like the shininess of it, and the packaging kind of sucks. Lets start with the basics – if you fully remove the seal instead of merely puncturing it, you’re gonna be wasting product EVERY TIME. It’s just unavoidable. The opening is a bit too large AND it is not easy to put excess product back in. The first tube I had developed a cut in it somehow so I had to be real careful with it so it wouldn’t expand and leak lipbalm. Before buying this, ask yourself if you have a small jar to carry with you, because you’re going to need it. The baobab one might as well be unflavored as it has a very neutral, mild taste and scent. The guava one… Well, it sure is guava, but it also reminds me of holiday candles, a burnt smell combined with sweet, and the Christmas Tree Shops. It’s too much. The actual flavor/scent isn’t strong, but it’s somehow very associative.
I’ll give this a 3 because I think it works better than most lipbalms and if you’re already making a DECIEM haul it’s not an expensive or wasteful product, but I’m taking off one point for the packaging.

A huge glob gushed out of the tube the instant I broke the seal, which is frustrating. It smells ok (I have the guava one), but the taste. . .how do I put this delicately? It tastes like man. . . stuff. Salty and a little bitter. I’m not too picky about flavor in my lip balms, but this stuff is straight-up NASTY. I wiped it off my mouth after a few minutes. I rubbed the rest of the aforementioned glob into my cuticles and it didn’t seem to do them any good.

This is the clear mascara equivalent of lip balms. Something is there but it does nothing. My lips felt drier after using it, no softeners, lots of flakiness. Gonna return it. The idea was cute but it is not a keeper.

I have the coconut flavored version of this. As far as lip balm goes, it’s meh. It’s relatively cheap with cute packaging, though, so I can’t be mad at it. The flavor is kind of a fake coconut (I think I had a scented coconut marker as a kid that smelled like this tastes), and oddly salty.
It also doesn’t moisturize particularly well. Imho the best moisturizing lip balms or treatments are pretty tenacious, like you put them on at night and can still feel it on your lips in the morning. This one certainly does not work overtime, which would be fine with me if its results were otherwise impressive, but I haven’t noticed anything special.
Texture-wise, I’d say it’s more like a lip oil than a lip balm. It’s pretty liquid/oil like, so if you like that texture in a lip product, perhaps you’ll like this. But don’t buy the coconut one. I haven’t tried the other scents but I can’t imagine they’d be worse.
The one use I have found for Petrowhat, and which it’s actually quite good for, is as an emollient when exfoliating lips. I have the Sephora Refresh and Prep Lip Scrubber, and Petrowhat is perfect to put on before using the brush to scrub my lips. Helps it to glide smoothly, without drag, and it with it’s light texture it absorbs quickly enough to be able to apply lip color soon after. I doubt I’d repurchase this just for that single use, though.

Bought the baobab because of the adorable container, but to tell the truth it hardly does anything. Tried it in my hair which seemed to like it but that’s not worth the $7 for a little tube. Think I’m going to return this one. Doesn’t keep my skin or hands moisturized.

Love my lip balms and thought I would give this a try. I am somewhat miffed now that I paid so much for something that does so little. I bought the pineapple one, which doesn’t actually smell of anything and it dried out my lips instead of protect or moisturise them. I also tried it on my fingertips, I get dry skin around the side of the nails and it didn’t do anything to help that either. I think the product looks fab in the handy little tube but it just doesn’t deliver.

Best lipbalm I have ever used! The ingredient list is what makes it a keeper and of course the fun description of the product. No more chapped lips, My lips feel hydrated and soft. The tube is long lasting and costs only $7 Canadian. When I apply the balm I can taste a bit of the flavour (currently coconut) and I even like that!.

This is a relatively new launch for Deciem. As I cycle daily, I always a have lip balm on me, my favourite is Dr Organic.
I saw this and loved the cute packaging, which is a thin metal tube and I liked the concept of no petroleum oil (hate vaseline as it leaves my lips dryer than when I started) Once you open the tube, you always get too much product. Either the consistency needs to be thickened or the design changed. The consistency is like a watery gel but the texture similar to oil – it leaves a nice sheen. The taste is mild, I bought Rio/guava – which could be any gentle fruit flavour/smell.
My usual lip balm costs up to £3 & laasts 3 months . This costs £7 and with the design flaw/consistency issue, this will last a few weeks and therefore I don’t think its worth the price.
*update* I have been using this for a week and my lips always feel dry and slightly chapped – not sure what ingredient is causing a reaction, but decided to stop using it and taking up Deciem’s 365 day return to get my money back
