I’m not sure why the other reviewers don’t like this but I love it! I bought this as a dupe for Mac’s lipliner in cork. I will admit that I’ve never actually seen cork swatched so I don’t know how the color compares to this. I was looking for a lipliner to go with Mac’s “siss” lipstick because it was a smidgen too light for me. I chatted with a Mac MUA online and they suggested cork but I didn’t want to spend that much on a lipliner. Many makeup sites had this listed as a dupe for cork so I bought it. This works perfectly. This doesn’t drag on my lips and the pigmentation is good. And it stays put on my lips. inexpensive. $4 from eBay

So cork lipliner by MAC is my absolute favorite liner for nude lips and one I reach for almost everyday. Its golden bronze color mutes the pigmentation of my lips beautifully and is the perfect base for my signature nude lip.
Now imagine my excitement at learning that nyx had the perfect dupe for cork at less than half the price. I immediately placed an order for toast, happy with my resourcefulness and eager to try it out. Putting on my makeup for work the day after my package arrived, I pulled out toast and lined my lips expecting to see that lovely light gold brown color that is cork. What I got was a dark brown color, no gold or bronze in here at all, very similar to my natural lip pigment which I was trying to mute with a liner. I forged ahead and applied my hg nude lipgloss, l’oreal color juice in butterscotch drop. With cork, by this time, I’d be all set and ready to go with a sexy pout but not this time. My lips just looked really bad with a visible dark line which is an absolute no no for me. I had to wipe it all off and redo my lips with my beloved cork lipliner, which thankfully, didn’t disappoint.
I guess I’ll have to keep paying top dollar to fuel my cork addiction and will approach future dupe recommendations warily. And MAC, I really don’t mind paying $14 for cork, just don’t discontinue it.
A good word for toast and the other nyx liners I ordered, pencil texture is very good. Not hard, quite easy to apply and deposits a good amount of pigment. That’s why I’m giving this 2 lippies and not the 1 it deserves for being a total let down, shadewise.

So I was told this is an exact dupe for MAC Cork Lip Liner. I haven’t tried Cork, but from the you tube reviewers, this seem to be an exact dupe! Ok, so this is a light brown, which I was looking for. I have Mac lip liner in chestnut, and it is too dark for my taste. But this toast liner is perfect and not harsh at all for nude lips or the gold lips.
EDIT: So I went to MAC and tried Cork, and NYX Toast is not a Dupe….Let me explain this. When I researched a cork dupe, Toast came up as a dupe. The person also said they swatched it side by side and they were identical. OK. I can see that being true. Buttttt when you apply both to your lips and add whatever gloss or lipstick, they both turn out different. Cork gives this golden glow brown, while Toast is Flat. This was really wack, but its all good, it was only a 1.49. Im glad I tried Cork, because I would have been really decieved. Just go head and pay that 14.00
