Looking through my makeup collection, it made me realize I had purchased a whole bunch of these in different shades: Currant, Ever, Mahogany, Peekaboo Neutral and Pumpkin. I like that they are priced very cheap (especially when on sale) and works well with other formulas of lipsticks and lip glosses. They do need to be reapplied after eating/drinking, but that’s with most lip products as I haven’t found many that can withstand those activities. I would definitely repurchase again when needed, and most likely will try other shades as well.

I’ve tried several of these pencils in neutral colors, hoping for a cheap MLBB look but they just don’t work for me. They remind me of wax crayons (ugh, the smell) and look very unnatural on. The finish reminds me of matte liquid lipstick and the supposedly neutral pink colors pull super orange on me no matter what. I am posting this review because I had forgotten that I tried and hated these years ago, and made the mistake of buying a few more today (ever, pale pink, peekaboo neutral, nude pink) because of the terrific reviews on here.

Amazing staying power, !! Lovely selection of colours. Pricey for a lip liner that is also very difficult to sharpen, so you don’t get much use out of it. The actual lip liner itself however is very very good.

I have a whole bunch of these and I love all of them. They come in a wide variety of shades, and they have plenty of natural/nude colors across the spectrum. They are simple wooden pencils, but the product itself is creamy enough to blend out but waxy enough to create a good barrier to hold lipstick on the lips. The best part is that they are very affordable. I highly recommend these lipliners, even though I do like the Suede version a little bit better.

Both the Mauve and the Mahogany go on as the right color and with one quick smacking of the lips, turn into the same shade of rose on me – I was disappointed. I’ll stick with MAC liners, they don’t need to be sharpened as much, and Half-Red and Plum, while not the same colors, are similar, and I like them way better than these.

I love these lip liners they’re my favotive I have back ups of brown cafe and nude truffle I love those colors those are my faves . I purchased mauve and beige from ulta today and they’re goegeous colors. They last a long time I love them I’m not huge on lip creams or lipsticks anymore but the lip liners can equal as that and you can’t tell theyre on you at all..

I love this liner. I have been using Revlon, which is creamier but NYX’s pencil lip liner does seem to last longer and doesn’t cake up. I use the Nutmeg color and I am really impressed overall.

So far, I’ve only tried the color “Natural”, which has become a staple in my everyday make-up routine! It’s a “my-lips-but-better” sort of color, subtle enough for everyday wear, but nice enough for a somewhat matte look! The color is rich, goes on nice and smooth without being patchy, and definitely lasts through eating and drinking. I maybe only have to reapply one time in a whole day that I’m wearing it. I’m definitely eager to try some other colors in this line!

From a price in comparison with quality perspective, these lip liners are the best on the market, in my opinion. I originally began buying them because I loved playing with different lipstick colors, but couldn’t really justify shelling out tons of money on liners from MAC or Sephora to compliment them. These work just as good as any high end lip pencil, for a fraction of the price (I pay under $5 CAD).
They are super pigmented and long wearing, but the formula is on the drier side of things. I don’t find that they tug on lips or anything, but if you like filling in your entire lips with liner, try a creamier pencil. However, for the purpose of precision and locking lipstick in place, they are awesome. Plus, they sharpen well and don’t “break” often, which is often a problem for pencil products.
Additionally, these come in the hugest color range that I think I’ve ever seen in a drugstore lip pencil (they probably rival MAC). It’s especially awesome because you can get tons of “alternative” colors that most brands (let alone drugstore brands) don’t carry, such as black, black-brown, “greige”, and even a metallic orange…. Along with a great array of more standard and neutral colors as well.
Basically, these little pencils are cheap, come in a great range of colors, and work well. If you’re a lipstick junkie and are looking for some matching liners, check these out. A lot of makeup artists even use them in their professional kits.
