I have to admit to not being the most avid user of lip liners. It mostly comes down to a combination of being lazy and forgetting the step due to never having gotten into the habit. So, disclaimer: I don’t have that many lipliners to compare this to. I have this in the shade Zinfandel, which I bought along with the same shade of lipstick from their Perfect Moisture Line. Sadly the lipstick didn’t work out for me as it was really patchy, though the lipliner wasn’t to blame for that. The shade is a quite dark, vampy purple. It has a pretty waxy texture, which makes for a good staying power. I’ve sometimes used the lipliner topped with NYX Butter Gloss, and it lasts a really, really long time worn that way.
I’ve also got it in the shade Transparent Lip Fix which I bought to use as a primer for any shade of lipstick. To be honest, the jury’s still out on whether or not it’s a handy product or an unnecessary one. I had this idea that it could be a cruelty free replacement for my MAC prep + prime lip, but to be honest I’m not sure how well it works yet. Since it’s completely transparent and leaves very little trace it’s hard to see or feel if you’ve applied it thoroughly.
+ Cruelty free
+ Good staying power
+ Decent price (around 79 SEK in Sweden)
+ Available in a lot of shades
– Not automatic/requires sharpening

Perfect indeed. Great, simple lip liner, nice consistency, great staying power, not too drying and, the real kick for me, this baby is available in not one, but three bright red shades: one blue-based, Ruby Red, close to MAC Cherry but a slightly brighter and truer blue red; one neutral red, which is so hard to find, Prime Red, similar to MAC Redd; and one yellow-based red called Mandarine.
I wear bright red lipstick a lot, and I often mix blue-based lips pencils with yellow-based lipsticks or vice versa to get the right shade. I like true neutral reds and reds with a slight yellow undertone, since anything blue-based goes almost fuchsia on me. I wear the yellow-based MAC Lady Danger and Chili a lot, mostly over bluer lip pencils, and sometimes MAC Russian Red over yellow-based pencil. have almost gone through Prime Red, I’m using Ruby Red all the time and I really have to get Mandarine when I pick up a new Prime Red. There’s also a colourless version, Transparent Lip Fix, that would be great to have for pretty much any lipstick.
This pencil comes highly recommended; it’s cheap, it’s reliable, the quality is great even compared with far more expensive products and the colour range is outstanding if you like bright reds. I will buy again, and again, and again.

I have this in 79 Subtle Nude.
Lovely colour and great texture, compared to other pencils who seem to work better as writing pencils than what they’re supposed to be – lipliners!
I always get surprised whenever I visit the Isadora section since I find their products very, very boring. And yet, this little gold nugget will forever be welcome in my makeup bag. Finally I’ve found the perfect lipbase for me. Just dab a little balm on top and I look sexy, yet natural, all day long 🙂

I got this in Bronze. It was in the 75% off bin at Walgreens so I decided to try it. It works like a dream. It’s creamy & matte. It glides right on without tugging. Bronze was more like a rusty brownish red color – very nice. It’s retractable so it doesn’t need sharpening. I’m going back tomorrow for some more colors. My only complaint is that I cannot find any more of these Isadora products anywhere.

I purchased this in the “nude” shade and I am very happy with it. It’s very creamy and the color is a nudey-mauvey-pink. It gives me nice definition (a little darker than my natural color) and doesn’t need to be sharpened too much so that is a plus. I would love to repurchase, but Walgreen’s has d/c this line so i don’t know where I would find it!

I have two of these, one bright fiery red (Pimento Red) and one darker red (Chestnut). I really like both – I can fill in my whole lips without them being too drying, and they last well. So far, I’ve only used them under my Shiny Lip Lacquer, but I’m going to get more colours to go with other glosses and lipsticks. If you like a matte look, they’re good on their own too. They are 55 SEK here, a very good price.
