This review relates specifically to the shade ‘red’.
PROS: The pencils look sleek and expensive even though they aren’t. Nice design, Barry M, well done. The colour is very opaque and matte, and fairly long-lasting.
CONS: This isn’t actually red, unfortunately. It’s a deep fuchsia. Also, the texture is slightly drier than more expensive lip pencils. It could be a little creamier to make application easier.
Overall, not a bad product. I also have it in ‘mulberry’, which is nice. I wouldn’t rush out to buy it again. I’ll probably try another brand. But if you’re looking for a cheap, vegan lip pencil (and you don’t mind that it’s dark pink!) this is decent.

These lipliners are very cheap, as are most Barry M products, but work just as well as MAC’s lipliners. The shade range is not the largest but it has staples like nude pink, coral, red, brown-pink, and berry. They are soft and easy to apply and have great staying power! Obviously, they will come off a little if applied all over lips and then you eat and drink – but used just at lip borders, they last all day. You might notice make-up artists using these from time to time – like Pixiwoo and Lisa Eldridge – since these fare very well despite their low cost.
Highly recommended and and absolute bargain, what more can I say.

I wear this in No 5 Russet, i fill in my lips first with Gosh lip liner Nougat Crisp, then i outline with this and slightly fill in round the lip line for an ombre effecteffect with the Gosh lip liner showing in the middle.. Its a beautiful shade, highly pigmented, lasts ages, and just makes me feel glamorous when I’ve got it on!
Purchased it so many times over I’ve lost count.

These lip pencils are amazing! Super pigmented and last all day, I own two colours (sadly the names/numbers have rubbed off from daily use) but I own the darkest wine colour and the darkest brown. They are pretty creamy but if worn alone you would need a dab of lip balm or vaseline to make it more comfortable, love them.

I absolutely love these pencils. I have two – in Mullberry and Dark Pink. They are slightly waxy in texture, firm enough to keep a good point and line your lips perfectly, but are soft enough to be comfortable when doing so and in my experience they are not drying. I have found that the Mulberry colour on it’s own is a fantastic matte “my lips but better” when used on the entire lip – it is a very flattering neutral shade. Dark pink is more of a cool shade and not so easy to pull off on it’s own. If you don’t chew your lips or eat anything oily these will last three or four hours and fade gracefully. Generally I use these to colour my entire lip before slicking a sheer lipstick over the top – Revlon Colour Burst lip butter in Candy Apple looks AMAZING over the mulberry pencil.
So the colours are great, the texture is great, the quality is wonderful and they are cruelty free to boot – I mean, I seriously won’t be looking anywhere else for lip pencils as long as Barry M makes these and does not change the formula. No hesitation in awarding the full five lippies. And best of all? The price. £2.99 means you can buy every colour if you want, and as I say, they work as lipsticks in their own right.

I bought one in red and because I don’t use lip liners often I was tempted by the price as I wanted something to experiment around with without having to splash out.
It gives great lines and is very easy to use – not too hard, not too soft. It doesn’t give a very sharp line however it is still good – though in future I would probably opt for a better liner for a more defined finish as I feel this gave a more softer look. Also, the colour is pigmened enough to give a strong colour though at the same time not very rich and bold; it does begin to fade slightly as well after a while.
There is not much else to say however its price is great and I would say thats mostly its selling point so I would definitely recommend because of this.

Sometimes I am amazed when I buy something that is so cheap and find the quality is just as good as stuff I pay lots more for. This is an example. This cost me the princely sum of £2.95 – you can’t get much cheaper than that. I have paid £15 or so for lip pencils that were no better. It is just the right consistency – not too hard and not too soft and I can’t fault it.
I have it in shade no 25 which is a deep orange-red which I got to use with MAC So Chaud lipstick.

I got a bunch of these for $1. I am a huge Revlon Colorstay lipliner and Palladio lipliner girl. For $1 it is a great deal and I would buy them again at $1, but not at the full price. They do have a wide range of colors that will meet your needs. I fill my entire lipline and this product does say on, but it is not smooth or creamy when you apply it.

I bought a ton of the retractable lip liners from Ulta on sale for $1 each. I had never used them before but I figured for $1 I could try them out and keep them for back up if I didn’t like them. Turns out they are a GREAT product that I use daily now! I used to be pretty loyal to Lancome and Mac for lip liners but I really do like these. they are smooth and easy to apply and the neutral shades are so pretty. The only downside is that there isn’t a huge range of colors to choose from IMO, would be nice to see more than slightly different variations of nude. would definitely buy again and ladies pay attention to Ulta sales, lip liners and eye liners for $1!!!

I purchased these in Mocha, Espresso, Mink and Plum, and really love them all. I line then cover the whole lip and blend it with a top gloss and the two together work beautifully. All these colors work for my olive complexion.
It’s a great find when you get it on clearance. I recently found these below $1 so I bought as many as I could. Both the pencil type and one grease type, which I also loved.

I have this in the shade “Flesh” & it’s my HG lip liner. I can’t even be bothered to search for a better one. Lip liners are supposed to be low thrill & I can’t justify paying more than $8 for one.
With that being said, this fits the bill. It’s cheap, but great quality. The shade Flesh is pretty much my my-lips-but-better shade. It looks natural, & creates a great canvas for whichever lippie I decide to use. The texture is very smooth. No one knows I have average lips. 😉

Ulta pencil lip liner in “Rose” is the best, most perfect my-lips-but-better nude pink shade I’ve found yet! It’s much shorter than my other lip liners, which is a testament to how often I reach for it. The texture is so creamy, and the formula is long lasting to the point where it leaves some color on my lips at least until after lunch, when I reapply lip products. I fill my lips in with “Rose” to add just a hint of rosiness to my natural lip color. The liner makes my lips look more plump, too, since it makes defines the edges.
For reference, I’m pale and cool-toned (NW10) and this is a very flattering shade of mauve-nude-pink. It has no peach or brown tones to it, yet it’s not garish and overly bright against my fair skin. Rose is the perfect natural kiss of color for my lips.
I never dreamed that I’d use a lip liner almost every day, but Ulta Rose has become one of my staple products. It really polishes your look and prolongs the wear of lip colors, in addition to looking lovely all by itself with a bit of balm or lipgloss.

I love this lip liner in sheer pink. The ONLY thing I wish is they’d do this color in the automatic liner, not the pencil. The sheer pink goes with all my lip colors, and sometimes I line my lip and fill it in with the pencil and just some chapstick on the top and it’s a nice, natural color. I have worn it for several years and love it a lot!

I got the Lip/Eye Contour pencil together from one of Ulta’s gift promotion makeup samplers. The lip liner is the ‘flesh’ color’ which is a very natural color to line your lips with and make it look fuller in certain places without looking like a hooker. I have thin lips, but this really helps to make them look fuller. I line around the lips and then put a coat of cherry chapstick or tinted gloss on top to get the plump effect. I’m def. buying more of this when I run out.

I think these are an amazing value for the price. The ingredients are also decent (I looked each one up on the safe cosmetics database) and comparable to what you’d find in higher priced pencils. Plus, the colors are gorgeous. My niece who is a redhead likes the Cider color which is kind of a deep brownish red, and I like the Chilled Brandy which is burgundy. Both these colors are deeper, but they also have nude colors (they were all sold out when I was shopping at the dollar store). I want to try the Deep Nude. Might just have to do an online order since it would be worth the $15 Canadian shipping charge to get a dozen of these. Also, they are very matte and a little drying, but I apply them over lip balm.

I wanted to like this product because of the low retail. I tried it several times and do not like it as it does not prevent lipstick from feathering. That is the whole purpose for me – to define my lip shape and keep my lipstick contained to my lip area. This product does neither. It seemed like more of a lipstick than a lip liner. I will be throwing this away today and looking for another product with high ratings.

Jordana lip liner is absolutely amazing! keeps my lipstick on for hours and hours, and even after eating and drinking! Was really cheap too!
selfishRuffs8
I get Rouge shade which compared to Plush Plum from the Jordana Easyliner, is a berry red while the other is also berry colored but with more brown. Formula is lasting but not as long lasting as the easyliner one, also it is kind of a pain finding the right sharpener for these but the color is rich and it applies well.

i had one named raspberry something maybe..the color is beautiful but a bit hard on lips. some days ago i saw “sexy mauve” to my friend and i kinda snatched it. The color is so attractive!! It looks awesome in my lips. Well a bit hard though bt i cant complain. I m planning to buy more “sexy mauve” because i m using it regulaly

I don’t line my lips, but I use lip liners as matte lipsticks. I own several of these, since my local Korean dollar store stocks them for 98 cents. I put on a bit of balm and just fill in my lips for the long-lasting matte look I love so much. I really love a lot of Jordana products, but for some reason they can be hard to find sometimes. My local Wag’s has a Jordana display but not a full one. They do not stock the nail polishes, for instance. I wish they would expland their line.

Love baby berry I wear it multiple ways.
Under lipsticks or gloss, or fill in my lips lightly to give a wash of color or fill in to darken them and wear as a lip color that will last a while but does not look heavily made up.
I was not a fan of Tawny it was too orange looking on my skin and just never looked good.

I had only ever tried one lip liner previous to Barry M’s one, so don’t have much to compare it to. The pencil is firm enough to give a sharp line, but not so firm that it drags uncomfortably on the lips. I bought the brightest red shade, and while it lasted well for a while on its own, it wore away quickly while eating and drinking. I would certainly repurchase though, as it’s great for such a low price!

This review is actuaally for the barry m lipstick but there was no option at the time to leave a review under that category..anyways i would advise STRONGLY against purchasing Barry M lipsticks, especially in the nude color 100 and 101 as they totally dry out my lips, and the color ends up in clumpy patches all over my lips and that never happens with any other lipstiicks!! well i guess the packaging is good, its sleek and black kinda similar to the MAC cases but thats about it. for nearly 5 pounds you may aswell save up and get MAC or just anything really.. hell even save your money and go for miss sporty even thats better xx

This is my first Barry M product. I don’t use lip liners that often, and haven’t tried many, but I’m very pleased with this product. The pencil is firm enough to offer good staying power, and yet it’s soft enough to glide on effortlessly. It’s so easy to draw a thin line.
My colour of choice was “cerise” which is a typical barbie pink, not exactly my everyday shade. (hence -1 lippie) I expected something fleshier and more muted. Now I’m planning to purchase this lip liner in one of their brown shades.
Overall this is such an affordable product that performs very well. Warmly recommended.

Barry M lip liners are suitable for vegans, and so are many other of their products. More details can be found on their (very informative!) site.
