Just like some others , I used to use the Urban Decay ozone. When I discovered this I was thrilled. I’ve been using it for a couple of years. As someone else stated there is so much waste with sharpening it -even the Milani sharpener does not do it justice.

I got a sample of Urban Decay Ozone liner and really liked it but wasn’t sure I wanted to spend $16 for the full size. I did some research and found that Milani makes a dupe. It is a dupe. This is half the price (or less) and works great. It makes my lips a little tacky, which is great if I want my lipstick to stick better. I’ve even used this on some fine lines and it kind of fills them in. Concealer doesn’t go over it well, but if you aren’t wearing makeup and just want a quick filler fix — this can work in a pinch! The only thing I don’t like is sharpening it. I feel like a lot of product is wasted — would love it more if this was a twist-up.

I’ve been using this liner for years and in that time, it’s become quite the staple in my kit. Not only does it prevent my lipstick from feathering, but when I fill in my lips with it, it acts as a wonderful adhesive layer that grabs hold of my lipstick and hangs onto it for dear life. It also smooths out lip lines beautifully, giving a nice plush appearance to my lips.
I love pairing this with non-matte lipsticks, as those tend to feather or migrate the most on me. It’s especially great under my Marc Jacobs lipsticks. The only one of those that tends to feather ever so slightly is So Rouge (the Sephora VIB Rouge perk one), and this liner halts it dead in its tracks. To be fair, the Marc Jacobs lip colors are the only super creamy lipsticks I own, so I can’t attest to how this would work with formulas that have more slip. I can say that it helps my gloss stay put rather than travel all over my face though, so that must say something.
The packaging is my only gripe, as it tends to be very difficult to sharpen. I’ve found that the purple Beautique dual sharpener from Sally’s is the best one for hard-wood-soft-product pencils like these.
The price is great. Anything that outperforms the UD Ozone pencil for less than $10 is a win in my book.
I’ll definitely continue to repurchase.

I am late to the party reviewing the Milani Anti Feathering Lip Liner. I bought this after seeing a MUA beauty blogger’s review and reading other reviews. I had no idea this sort of thing existed, but have had problems with noticeable feathering of more colorful lipsticks. It’s a brilliant concept, and I guess we owe Urban Decay a debt of gratitude, for their Ozone lipliner and the idea of using a transparent stick to prevent feathering.
The product from Milani certainly works great! I’ve been really happy with how my lips look, even hours after lining them. I haven’t noticed any skin reactions (but then, my skin is not very reactive or delicate either).
Why I won’t likely repurchase? I’m not even sure that this pencil was designed to be sharpened. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to package the product in a solid PLASTIC tube and make no provision for twisting the product up. I will try sharpening it, but I’m fully expecting to sacrifice a makeup pencil sharpener here, and that adds to the cost of the liner in my book. I now wonder whether there is very much product actually in the tube, has anyone wound up with no more pencil to sharpen in this? I have found it’s not technically necessary to have a sharp point, since just creating a boundary is the …..er … point. I’ve now used the liner several times without sharpening. Still, for the price, I would expect to get more than a few uses out of it.
Unless I am very pleasantly surprised I won’t repurchase Milani’s liner, if I can find a better-packaged version.

I tried the Urban Decay 24/7 lip pencil in Ozone and fell in love. I have red lipstick that I love to wear that would migrate or feather all the time and the UD pencil totally fixed it. The tip broke off a lot though, and it was expensive, so I went on the hunt for a less expensive dupe.
This pencil was recommended on a website and I decided to give it a try. The ingredients between the two pencils are very similar, so I had hope. Verdict? WORKS GREAT! The pencil breaks off less than UD, and sharpens a bit easier. If you have issues sharpening, either buy a better sharpener (I have the Palladio dual sharpener that is the greatest) or push the pencil a bit against the blade.
This pencil keeps my lipstick from feathering, bleeding, and it stays on ALL DAY. This is a HG product for me.

This lipliner is great. It’s transparent, so it works with any type of lip product. When you’re putting it on, you do feel the product, but it’s very minimal. The lipliner helps lipsticks glide on smoothly and prevents them from feathering (as it claims to do). The only issue is that you do need to sharpen it. I took off a lippie for that.
EDIT: For people who are having trouble sharpening it, this is what I did. For some reason, it wouldn’t sharpen, so I would apply pressure and “push” the liner against the blade of my sharpener. Don’t push too hard or you’ll lose a lot of product. Slowly twist your liner so the black bits come off to reveal product. Be gentle and light handed!

Amazing! Just firmly press and outline lips! Keeps any lip color or gloss from going over and feathering. Absolutely no running over of the product onto to face as one usually gets from glosses. And because of this lips actually look plumper! I have never enjoyed wearing lipsticks or epically glosses till I used this lip liner! Changed my lip looks and life! Really works great!

I love this product. I actually use it as a base for lipstick. After applied, it feels a bit tacky on the lips, which makes it a perfect primer for lip colour. I used to use MAC prep and prime but this is a million times better. The price is super reasonable, it was under $10. This product is a little tricky to find in Canada, so I will be stocking up the next time I find it. Packaging is minimal, and has a cute gold cap on the end. I feel like this product gets used up quickly as I find I need to sharpen it every time I use it, but for the price and how amazing it works as a primer, I will be buying this for a long time to come.

I purchased this product for $4.99 at my local CVS and it is a dupe if the Urban Decay 24/7 liner in “ozone”. It does the same thing, but for a cheaper price. I love this one just the same! I mainly use it to line my Cupid’s bow and under my lip right before I line with a colored liner; then I apply my dark lipstick. It keeps my color from bleeding and it goes on more smoothly that the UD product! I will definitely buy this again. I just have to figure out how to get the rest of to product out, cause it looks like it would be hard to sharpen.

I have been using this for a few days now and I’m not sure if I like it or not. It looks a bit odd when I apply it and feels rather dry on my lips. I havent tried it yet with a really dark colour, but so far I havent seen any bleeding and I have found using a matte lip balm like EOS before applying it seems to solve the drying feeling.
Don’t think I would re-purchase this though 🙁
