This has quickly become one of my current favorite lip products and am going to long-form review it because I like it so much. I have it in Act Natural, a light pinky peach. This is definitely peach but it has a LOT of pink. I first tried it in the summer, when I was a solid few shades tanner (Greek, can’t help it) and it looked amazing but it was light enough on me to be kind of high maintenance. Fast forward to now, in my light olive months, and it’s perfect. There are 8 shades at Ulta, mostly punchy brights, and they retail for about $10.
APPLICATION: So the key to this is in not treating it like a lipgloss OR a lipstick lol. It’s really thick and gloppy and opaque. So definitely don’t just smear it on! Luckily the doe foot is well equipped to handle this product, it’s slim & precise with a nook to hold the gloss. I apply in about 2-3 layers—one glop in the middle of each lip, then spread it out toward the edges, blending and rubbing in with my finger to create a more locked-in base. I then go in with a little more gloss to further fill in while carefully dealing with the edges. (This seems like a lot of work but takes less than a minute.) Since this shade is light I have to be careful with the areas where color meets skin. With this amount of product, my lips look 85% opaque and glossy, but if you want it to truly look VINYL then go ahead and add more at this stage.
WEAR: It’s definitely tacky (not sticky per se) and will stay that way but I don’t find it uncomfortable at all. I’m used to having something on my lips. It’s still a gloss-type product, so the staying power is not bulletproof, but it lasts WAY longer than traditional gloss and if you take the time to do the rubbed-in lock-down layer, it fades gracefully and leaves you with a bit of color. Also, use less than you think you need. It’s opaque enough to get the look you want without foraying into messy lip territory, which this absolutely has the capacity to do. If you’re used to MAC lip glasses, I think this is similar but a little more opaque and tacky, more in the liquid lip category.
The packaging is nice, the tube is the shade color and clicks shut securely. There is a strong chemical floral smell but it goes away very quickly.
This shade looks incredible with a nude lip liner but I find adding any extra product creates a lot of texture, and I have texture-y lips so I usually just wear it alone.
Now for the fun part! I love this shade because it looks great during the day and you can glop it on for night (where the slight goopiness won’t be as visible or you won’t care as much) for a really bitchy-sexy look. It looks fabulous with a heavier eye look. And because of the high opacity and texture/shine, I want to try one of the deeper shades to do a sheer-ed out dewy berry lip, and then go all-out vampy with it at night. The red would also be awesome for a shiny cherry lip situation. I just think that, as long as you figure out how to use it, the unique texture and color payoff of this product make it very versatile if you feel like playing! And who doesn’t love playing with makeup??!

These are new lip gloss – liquid lipstick hybrid put out by Revlon. At present there are 12 shades in the line ranging from bright pinks to deep berries and burgundies, to a vivid plum shade. This review is for the shade Date Night which is billed as a shiny light brown. I would call this color a browned out pink. It is definitely a neutral, but with of a deeper tone on the lip. A perfect transition shade from summer to fall. What I really like about the product is color, wear and applicator. The applicator is a pointed teardrop with a slight dip in it to hold product. I use the point to line and define the lip and then fill in with the lip color. A small amount is all that is needed to get a full application. If you blot it down a bit, it is not quite a “vinyl” and looks like a cream liquid lipstick. The product has a very nice even wear down and fades evenly and even dare I say it, quite prettily. It will come off with normal drinking and eating. It does have a very fruity/tropical scent on application, but that disappears quickly. Packaging is similar to the Hourglass Extreme Sheen lip gloss packaging. Available at the regular major retailers. I already bought backups, because I just love the color. Took one lippie off because you do have to be careful to not glop too much on. Otherwise, a lovely addition to their line of glosses and FINALLY not a matte finish!
