Tried in home slice. Color payoff was good. But there was something too shiny about this. I know that sounds dumb seeing as its lip gloss but it almost was foil-y

How is no one on here talking about these?!
Picked this up yesterday at Ulta after finding myself in need of a new nude gloss. Needless to say, what I ended up with is not nude, but it is STUNNING! I grabbed the shade “Yummy Rummy” which is a STUNNING gilded bronze with a rusty undertone that is just sooooo flattering. It’s EXTREMELY shimmery, with big gold glitter running throughout, but I love that kind of finish since it adds a lot of dimension to my somewhat small lips. (I have a big ol’ liver bottom lip but my top lip is…. dainty.) I paired this yesterday with a plummy eye look, and today with an orange/gold look, and it works beautifully for both. This is a good shade for all seasons, it seems, as it’s rusty enough to pull off a gorgeous warm look for Autumn, a dramatic gold for the holidays, or a pretty bronze glow for the warm months. It’s extremely versatile.
The formula is to die for. It’s not sticky at all, but is shockingly long-lasting for a non-sticky gloss. I don’t find that this feathers at all and doesn’t get all over my teeth, and it’s comfortable throughout hours of wear. It’s super hydrating and my lips look full and healthy during wear and even after I remove the gloss. When I do remove the gloss, the glitter is left behind. I don’t mind this, but some may hate that. I do find that it gathers a teeeeeensie bit in the corners of my lips, but all glosses do that, so I’m not mad. No gloopy ring around the inside of my lips. No sliding all over the face. Definitely the best formula I’ve tried. There is a slight fruity scent, but it fades quickly upon application and there’s no discernible taste.
The packaging is cutesy, which I know is polarizing; you either love it or hate it. I happen to love it. The little notch cut out of the edge of the lid is a cute touch, and I love the fruit print. The tube is sturdy and heavy, and the cap twists to an indent that keeps it closed. The applicator is a sort of flattened doe foot that coats your lips easily with one swipe, but also allows for precise application around the lip line.
At $20, it may be considered pricey for those who are gun-shy about purchasing high-end makeup. However, you get 7g of product, which is considerably more than I’m used to seeing in a lot of glosses (most of which seem to hover around the 5g mark). I don’t mind spending more if I get more. In fact, this was the deciding factor between this gloss and another tube of the Bare Minerals Gen Nude Lacquer (which I also love, but you get WAY less product).
I’m definitely going to try other nudes in this range. I’m not one for super bright glosses, so not every shade blows my skirt up, but if the other nudes perform anywhere near as beautifully as this shade, I’ll be pleased.
