The first time I tried this gloss, I absolutely loved it. It smells like mint chocolate chip ice cream and is so smooth and buttery. So, the formula is a good one. The color, despite it’s alluring appeal when swatches on the bare hand, pretty much goes on looking like a clear gloss. I’m giving the packaging two lippies because product collects at the top of the wand, and the lid won’t even stay closed. It screws right off even with the slightest touch! Doesn’t even click shut! Definitely not worth the 20 bucks they charge for it, and I most definitely will not be purchasing again.

This is one of those lipglosses that seems like a dream come true for anyone like me who loves shiny, bold, and colorful things. There are three, I believe, to choose from: Hypnotist (lilac base with light green, pink and blue highlights), Enchantress (pink with coral, purple and yellow highlights) and Illusionist (nude with purple, pink and yellow opalescent highlights). I decided to stay on the safe side and purchased Enchantress; it seemed like the most wearable of the three, if in fact it did give that gorgeous iridescent shine on the lips like it does on the tube.
Unfortunately, the biggest downfall is that you do not get all of those colors on the lips like you do in the tube. I was highly disappointed by that…I felt like I could have purchased a less insane-looking lipgloss and still have gotten the exact same color payoff.
On the lips, Enchantress looks like a bright medium pink with warm, coral undertones. If it hits the light a certain way, you can see the iridescence, but you have to be lucky enough to see it.
It’s a good product, nonetheless; the payoff is pretty bright, and I’ve worn it as both a stand-alone lipgloss as well as a topcoat. I appreciate the texture; it’s pretty thin, and it’s not sticky at all. It also tastes minty, which gives a cooling sensation to the lips and tastes much better than having to endure the taste of chemicals that some other lipglosses have.
My other issue, though, is the packaging. Yes, it’s pretty, but I’ve had problems with the lipgloss leaking through the top of the tube. It created sticky messes many times over…so, this lipgloss requires some vigilance.
For $18, I don’t consider this product a waste. It’s just one of those “too good to be true” type of deals, so it’s nothing super special, but it’s good quality, nonetheless.
